P.S. Sorry, can we have a brief name chat? OH thinks Mikka (pronounced Mee-kah) is too girly. Kimi is too close to XH's new pup's name (Vinnie). I like Heikki (Hay-kee), Jaakko (Yar-koh), Timo (Tee-moh) and Riku (Ree-koo). The conundrum I have is, how do I pronounce them with the appropriate accent without sounding like a tool?

I'm big on human names too I have always loved Bronte as a name for a dog (a friend has a chocolate Lab called Bronte). I received this photo of our boy today and thought it was too cute not to share: 9 sleeps to go here :D

It's definitely a scam, and a widespread one. It's not limited to dogs either - I got a lot of these types of emails when I was selling my car.

Thanks everyone Regardless of the laws (I think I've confused it with dogs ON vehicles?) I'd still like to make sure they're safe and restrained. I'm not sure that two crates will fit in the boot, but fitting a cargo barrier would be simple enough, it's a very common car! Obviously dogs make pretty nasty projectiles and we don't want that with the kids in the car especially, but I want the dogs to be as safe as possible too. Should they be uh ... secured? ... to the cargo barrier in some way?

Hi We are currently a one dog, two kid family. Joss travels in the back seat between my daughters, with seatbelt. Our new puppy arrives next weekend, which means we are one seatbelt too few (OH and I in the front, kids in the back, plus the two dogs), so I'm looking for new ways to restrain both dogs. My understanding of the law is that all dogs need to either be belted in or in a separate compartment in the car, presumably the boot with cargo barrier. If you have more people and animals than seatbelts, how are you configured? I drive a Mazda CX-7 so there is plenty of room in the boot, but I want to make sure it's as safe as possible. Thank you!

Thanks Anna. She has relatives with similar markings so have a bit of an idea how she may turn out. Ah yes, the Finnish names We are thinking Annika/Anika/Anica which is Finnish/used in Finland and means sweet faced or grace. Or Danika/Danica which means morning star from Denmark (close enough to Finland?!) We'll be arriving at the breeders house around midday on the 11th as well. We'll count down together. I really like Annika, I would used it for Joss if it wasn't so close to my name (maybe that's why I like it? ;)). For boofa I like Mikka, Kimi and Timo (I used to work in Formula 1! ). Kimi is too close to my XH's new puppy I think (Vinnie). I am driving everyone mad with my name issues.

Ambrosia yep, the 11th! Around midday for us I think. I love her odd eyes, she is so very pretty. I can't wait to see how her markings turn out! Thinking about names again I am so indecisive. Now I rather fancy giving him a Finnish name.

I don't think you're being silly Smartypaws. If it's this weekend, it seems reasonable to know which one is yours. And if you think you might be disappointed if you get one over the other (which I think is normal!) then finding out now will give you some time to feel okay with it Have you tried to get in touch with the breeder?

Here's XH's new puppy! He gave the big "yes please!" tonight. He's due to come down the weekend after Rupert, so they can be puppy friends :D And my sister has her currently-8-week-old Staffy pup too, so it will be absolute chaos. Poor Joss won't know what to do with herself.
