Please add my thoughts and prayers for Mindy *hugs* -
I have de-gas and also activated charcoal on hand now after Molly took a trip to the after hours vet a few months back. She was whining and could not get comfortable. Tummy and gums looked and felt fine but I rang the vet and he said I could watch her for half an hour and if no change bring her in (it's a 5 min drive to vet) as he thought it was indigestion. She didn't get better but not worse so off we go, pull up in the parking lot and she chunders...happy as can be then! Vet gave her an examination and off we went. Scared the heck out of me though.

Control Unleashed Vs Click To Calm
bianca.a replied to ButerflyGirl's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have both and to be honest I find CU hard work to read (maybe it's my brain fog) but I do think there are some really valuable principles in it. -
Happy Birthday Oberon, you handsome boy :D

That looks like an awesome day! Bugger I didn't realise it was on

Have you tried just mixing them in with his meal? Or smear it in a bit of peanut butter and then smear a bit on a finger so he doesn't even chew the tablet but goes to lick the next treat?
-
I have sprayed it onto Molly's collar and then left it for 15 or so minutes before putting it on her. My trainer recommended it. TBH, I have not seen any difference with her but I hear it works well for some dogs

I am very interested & certainly want to know more Corvus. I would love my girl to pay attention to me more when we are out walking & I am sure it would help with a couple of other problems we have when we are out like pulling on lead & trying to chase birds. Not a good thing. Stella is always in a hurry.I would love to slow her down alittle. She is fairly high drive, very focused, very food driven & extremely alert. If I knew just how to harness some of her enthusiasm & direct it towards me, I would be wrapped. Just unsure how to do it. I am all ears Corvus !!! Sorry, don't mean to drop in on someone else's thread. Another one who is very interested to hear please Corvus

Dog Friendly Motels Lakes Entrance/bairnsdale (vic) ?
bianca.a replied to bianca.a's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thank you so much everyone I am going to call the Eagle Point place in the morning! It looks perfect as it is wheelchair friendly for DH We were just planning on going for a couple of days but seeing they have a weekly rate we may make it a mini holiday seeing how I can take my Molly Thank you all again, I really appreciate it -
Sorry if this is in the wrong area. Does anybody know if there are dog friendly Motels in the Lakes Entrance or Bairnsdale area please? We are planning to put our house on the market in a couple of weeks and need to drive down and check out places to buy. I would really feel much more comfortable taking Molly with us then using an unknown kennel. Thank you in advance for any ideas

Sorry but I had to giggle too - been there done that but cats It's a good thing we love our animals so much hey?!
-
I feed raw and no expert so hopefully someone else will chime in but to me I think there may be too much RMB (raw meaty bones)?
-
 I so needed this giggle tonight! Sorry not really at your expense :D
-
I've just been told to try this for my reactive hyper girl and you can also use a tight fitting t-shirt or 2. Or a babies onsey (sp) for small dogs.

Just met with Jane Harper yesterday and she has my vote already!!!

Reactivity In Your Dog
bianca.a replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have a dog reactive girl (on lead or in the car only). I think a lot of her behavior is a type of barrier frustration that escalates. I have tried some LAT but really have not had a lot of success so today I had a behaviorist come to start on a new plan. We were doing OB and agility (foundation) but she got so bad I pulled out, at least for now. Interestingly today the behaviorist gave me some breathing exercises to try and stop or relieve any of my stress traveling down the lead. Good luck and my new mantra is "we get the dog we need not the dog we want" -
Here's Something You Dont See Every Day
bianca.a replied to Kirislin's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
WOWZER!!! They are impressive shots of impressive dogs! -
Molly the GSD isn't particularly fond of being brushed so instead of a thorough session - she gets a couple minutes a day much to her disgust! She sheds all year round but when she blows her coat how much hair can come from one dog!
-
Molly just has a plain wubba and she adores it...and she has not destroyed it!

Well I have a prong and I have to say when I tried it on my own arm it didn't hurt me. (I was taught by a trainer how to use and fit it). I just cannot see what all the fuss is about, it is a tool. Anything can be used in an inproper way. Why the hell don't they enforce a ban on people leaving their dogs tied up all day? Or never walking/exercising them? Common sense is what I think is lacking, I will not allow some person who has probably never seen a prong collar used to tell me that I cannot use one. And if it was so cruel then why does my dog go berko with excitement when she see's it? Because she knows she is going for walkies!!!! Yipee!
-
I have used it for Molly too, I keep some in the fridge. Hope your dog is better soon!

I have a Champion harness for Molly and she doesn't mind it so in DH's car she uses that and in my car she goes in her crate.
