  1. I just wanted to update, Coop had a marathon 5 plus hour surgery today and it went well! He is on a morphine drip and the specialist expects him to start weight bearing a little on the leg tomorrow! He is going to call me in the morning so I should know more then. Miss my goofy black lump. Post op xrays
  2. I am so pleased Sally is home and recovering now :) My boys breeder warned me about this as my girl used to swallow so much water at the beach she would always vomit
  3. Cooper who has severe HD had one leg that my vet couldn't get into the right position as he felt it would 'pop' out of the socket (this was under a GA) but when the specialist xrayed he could get the position right (also under a GA) Not sure how that helps you though sorry.
  4. Gorgeous! Love all the wrinkles on the pups!
  5. Poor Faith, best wishes for a smooth recovery (hugs). I would be very interesting in following her progress if you wouldn't mind updating please. (My boy is having an THR on Wed).
  6. It could be a hotspot but I think that would be an unusual place for one? If he starts licking at it you will need to stop him as if it is a HS, that will make it worse
  7. This is FANTASTIC news! I am so happy for you and your sweet girl!
  8. I agree with an ophthalmologist. They have the right diagnostic equipment. It was a little more expensive than if my vet had done it but he was quicker which was important to me. With my cat and her cancer, her eye was bulging (profile). He recommended it come out that same day. Wishing you both only the best, she is such a beautiful girl. Here is Paris a few days after her surgery
  9. Oh Krislin she is a darling and I'm so sorry that had to be a scare. If it's any comfort one of my cats was 15 when diagnosed with melanoma in her eye and she sailed through the surgery. I was so worried but she has just turned 17 and is plodding along. The specialist said it only took 10 minutes (wow) to do as I was really concerned how she would handle the G.A, so it is a very quick procedure. Wishing you both all the very best *hugs*
  10. I am so very sorry Run free sweet boy xx
  11. Awesome to read this Jelly! Good girl Roo
  12. Perhaps you could check with a GSD club as I know some are affected by this too. They may have some idea?
  13. That photo is classic! If I don't vaccum daily I have Molly/Cooper/Paris/Texas tumbleweeds whooshing around the floor! I only cook for my family so they know to expect dog hair!
  14. BC - sending you much strength for the next few months *hugs* Where abouts are you (just general)? If you are anywhere near me Vic - our 2 crazy girls could meet and have a bark off  . I hope tomorrow is a better day for you and your DH heals as fast as possible.
  15. If we were closer and didn't have one fruitloop girl, I could look after her. Dh is disabled and I am his carer. It's rare we are both out at the same time. Would a nursing/rest home be an option during the day?
  16. Canidae has grainfree options too, I'm not sure about the preservatives though. http://www.canidae.com.au/collection/view/34/35/38/39
  17. My pugs get whole frames, or half frames. Anything smaller and they just swallow it whole (including chicken wing and chicken feet which is hilariously disgusting to watch ) Oh wow! That would be a sight to see! I must be lucky as mine will chew wings (I don't give necks) :)
  18. You could always get the chicken frames and hack them into a few pieces, not sure with such a small dog how many bits though. My GSDs eat a whole or half frame and they actually have to chew!
