Thank you all so much. I have been taking daily photos and when we go down for the 6 week check up I am really going to complain. He must be feeling better today, he is wagging his tail when I talk to him but even better when I take him out to toilet, he is picking up one of his balls( should I use toy instead of balls  ). The skin is continuing to fall off. I am still keeping him really quiet and of course he is still contained. I'm not putting anything on it. I haven't even used the Cortavance spray. He goes in on Monday for the staples to be removed so they can check on him too. But overall and this is a long winded way to say, I'm confident he is feeling much better And just because my Cooper does have a face

LOL Ness , what a sneak! Showdog - oh my dog that is disgusting I don't see how anyone can be so damn careless esp around the sensitive areas My vet said this is basically like hotspots and knowing how awful my girl felt with hers...

Thank you all again :) Yes poor boy if he knew his private parts were plastered all over the net and being discussed  I'm actually able to laugh tonight so that is yipee! The surgeon said this morning that when they put the adhesive covering (?) over the dog anything that is in that area gets shaved because hair can introduce infection. Thank you so much for the tip about honey/pawpaw ointment because by the looks of things next year he will probably need the left side done. I WILL beg them not to shave that area if possible. They did know about this before he left their care, the surgeon told me and said they had put I think Neocort on it but he should be fine. Guess not I just went in to give him his dose of tramadol (liberally covered in peanut butter) and he is wagging his tail Such a change from last night. I really do want to say a HUGE thank you to all of you. It's somehow better when you can share and get advice :)

Thank you Bullbreedlover and I do agree. I am taking pics daily and when we go back for his six week check-up I will be voicing my opinion quite strongly. Good point about the tail too thank you :)

Thank you all so very much to think of my boy (((hugs))) It looks a little less 'angry' today and is drying out. The skin is falling off. I am dosing him regularly to keep him more settled and so far he is pretty calm today. I got a phone call from the surgeon this morning (after my emotional, slightly pissy email) and he said that they have to shave all the hair off. Hair can equal infection. Anywhoo I don't care as long as Cooper is feeling better and healing. I do apologise for any emotional blithering by me, I was so exhausted and worried about him I couldn't think straight Pics from about half an hour ago
-
The red vessels don't look as angry to me?
-
Yes the last 5 minutes he has settled. Thank you all so very much and I will be on the phone to the vet first thing in the morning to discuss what the hell we can do for him. This can't go on for days. And I don't want him to be on something that could cause him harm. He probably is picking up on my emotion, I'm trying to only cry when I leave his room but I know me being a mess isn't helping him. Breathe! grabonsam I will pm you about which vet.
-
Oh my god Grabonsam
-
He won't let me try that. I just tried to put some more of the neocort on it and he barked/growled at me. I'll give it another 20 mins then give him 2 more. Thanks all for understanding. It's making me question whether I should have even done the bloody surgery
-
Thank you. I feel pathetic but am so F'ken ANGRY right now. Nope no change yet but if it is going to work I think it will take half an hour?
-
If he is still like this in the morning I'll be taking him in for IV morphine or something
-
Thank you I just got off the phone with him think I woke him up. So I gave him 1 x 25mg Ace about 1 1/2 hours ago and he said to give him 2 more now which I've just done. He said if he doesn't settle to give him another one or two in an hours time and then give four hourly from there.
-
I'm currently sitting here in tears as he wont stop crying I've sent off an email to both my vet and the surgeon with that pic. This is freakin pathetic that he is in so much pain and I can't do anything
-
Thank you Oso.
-
I just gave him 2 more tramadol and took this pic now. No wonder he is crying
-
I am so sorry, what a decision to have to make
-
Thanks all. He just started whimpering again so I gave him his Ace a bit early and will give more Tramadol in an hour Persephone - I had no idea that this area takes a while to heal? Crap, crap, crap I think when he has improved I will email the surgeon and voice my concerns more formally. I am just so pissed off he has to deal with this.
-
Thank you all (((hugs))) it's so good to have people here understand how awful it to see him like this
-
Oh Ness you two need some much needed good luck and bloody soon ((((hugs))))

I paid $320.22 and that is on top of the best part of $8000 at the surgeons
