What Do You Do With Your Dogs When You Go Out?
bianca.a replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
I leave my two inside free to roam the house. If I'm going to be away for hours, my parents will let them out for toileting. -
What Breeds Are Most Common In Your Area?

Same here, never seen so many Kelpies before! -
I buy these for my boy with a total hip replacement and the surgeon was quite happy with them http://www.vitacost.com/vetri-science-glyco-flex-iii-bite-sized-soft-chews-for-dogs-120-chewables

Lollipop - what a stunner! I didn't realise it was illegal here, I just thought if you did do bite work then your dog is automatically declared dangerous. How bloody stupid

Obedience Club Has Agreed To Titre Testing

I paid about $80 per dog (I express posted the bloods myself). See if your vet is open to send the samples to VetPath in WA. They are the cheapest in the country I believe :) -

Merlin is stunning! I use a furminator on my GSD's fluffy trousers and it does a good job there.
-
I have a couple of cloud collars but they are no good for my GSD's There is another type that seems like it may be worth a try (moulded plastic and fabric I think) but for the life of me I can't remember the name

Thanks for all the responses :) I will update when they arrive but knowing my luck, Coopie will be scared of it or something
-
Thank you for giving him a smooch, please give him another from me.

I think your dogs are beautiful! But no I wouldn't enter any yard unless had done so previously with the owners (and dogs) approval. On the weekend I took both my dogs to the local market separately. The black and tan girl, quite a few people wanted to pat etc. My solid black male, not one person asked. It was quite striking to me the difference based on colour and ear set (Molly has soft ears)

It is Aliwake, thank you but compared to the rest of his health issues, this is minor. If this doesn't work I'm going to have to start brushing his teeth!
-
His wound looks like it is healing nicely ((((hugs)))) and a gentle smooch for your beautiful boy from me please.
-
Eeee I looked and I shouldn't have!!! I want a puppy
-
Thank you all, I really appreciate the advice :) Yes I have given yoghurt but if he is just on his 'usual' food he is fine, it seems to be bones he can no longer handle
-
Thank you so much. I will see how these go and let you know, thanks again :)

Crap I spoke too soon, the large and extra large ones are out of stock Have ordered the last 2 from Petstock online....expensive critter my boy is!
-
Yah thank you both so very much :) I live in the boonies and nobody here has them and there isn't a petstock so I will order some from that site. Thanks again guys and especially for the super quick responses :)

Hi all, my rather large pup Cooper cannot seem to handle any types of bones now. I have tried marrow (with the marrow removed, lamb necks, roo tails etc and nope he gets the runs. He has had a load of blood work done so I am confident it is the bones. Problem is now I need something decent to keep his teeth pearly white. I had though Swayd sold antlers and have sent her a message via her webpage but does anyone have another source please? Thank you in advance.

You could also have a look at Raennik (QLD) she breeds working lines but has a bitch who is a sable coatie so may throw the odd puppy?
-
Huge hugs zooming to you both xo Not too sure how accurate this is but a quick search : http://www.pethealthandcare.com/dog-health/spondylosis-in-dogs.html

Oh Trina I am so very sorry (((Hugs))) You have every right to be extremely pissed off. Keeping your sweet boy in my thoughts and prayers (((hugs)))
-
I agree with you too LMS. My bitch is showlines mixed with working lines. My male is 100% WL and unfortunately due to bad luck (great breeder who did all health checks going back generations) my pup has severe hip dysplasia. He had his first total hip replacement in Feb and will more than likely need the other side done next year. He has the perfect temperament and aside from the health issues (numerous) I couldn't ask for a better dog. And just because he is beautiful to boot!

She is lovely :) I had one of my dogs on it for a while and it certainly helped her. Thankfully I have been able to wean her off and she has remained stable. Wishing you both all the best.
