  1. I uses these. Work wonders. Hi again. Did you get these from the US or do you know of a supplier here in Oz?
  2. Yay!! Love you all. Thanks so much, am just about to order the clips.
  3. We have a pet door in a sliding security door with a simple magnetic closure so the pup and kitty can come and go during the day. We close the glass sliding door at night to keep them in. Now that the weather is improving I am trying to come up with a way to be able to effectively 'lock' the flap at night so the boys can't get out but being able to leave the glass door open (to allow a breeze). So far I have thought to use bull dog clips (from work he he) which seem to work however this leaves a gap which I think the insects would like. Has anyone had a similar experiences or any ideas? Thanks :)
  4. Prefer fun and durable. I will look up the kong wild knot bear :)
  5. Murphy is a super strong 7 month golden retriever who is starting to run out of toys ti chew on! He is especially fond on soft toys but they only last a few minutes. He doesnt chew on the kong but will play with it until it is empty. Tried durabone; not interested. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
  6. UPDATE ON MURPHY... Well it has been a while now so I wanted to update on Murphy's progress. The soft poo continued on and off for the next little whike, never actually stopping so we decided to try different food (he had been on Pro Plan Puppy since being weaned). We found Din Dins and he has never been better!!! http://dindins.com.au/
  7. Pro Plan is what the breeder suggested, so we use it. I have heard many times it is what your pup does best on. What does that actually mean? Murphy is growing well, putting on weight however he does get bouts of the runs, but I guess that is more of the stuff he eats from the garden. I really want to do right by Murphy.
  8. My 5 month GR Murphy is currently eating Pro Plan and I am considering getting a better quality product, for his long term health. After reading many forums I decided to try the Eagle Pack puppy for Large Breeds. However this is no longer available in store and is only in a few online stores. I would like something that will be simple to get. The other option I saw was Black Hawk. Or maybe Iams? Does anyone have any recommendations or advice on the better products?
  9. Hello, Has anyone had any experiences with house sitters (good or bad) and have any recommendations? We have a Golden puppy (will be 8 months old when we travel) and a kitten. thanks
  10. Thanks, especially Neah bet. We will give these ideas a go :)
  11. Our 15 week golden Murphy thinks EVERYTHING is a game, which we are working on redirecting as necessary. One thing I have had no luck with is him wanting whatever is in our hands and jumping up. When he jumps up at other times like for attention we turn our back until there is '4 on the floor', then lots of praise. But this does not work when we are holding something. Any advice?
  12. Day 2 - we have beautiful logs littering the back yard. And 1 very happy puppy (who seems to like a bit of raw carrot!) Thank you all SO SO much ♥♥♡♡♥♥ Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  13. Murphy did a couple of log type poos when I got home!! Oh what a wonderful sight!!! Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  14. Update.. I went home at lunchime to check on the little monkey - still chirpy and full of beans (yay!!). I also did a good look at outside and found several log type poos (double yay!!). As I had mentioned earlier I had done a scoop up yesterday (he was digging in the garden bed so I wanted to put some deterrant there ) so I am quite certain that these are less than 24 hours old, although starting to dry out as they are in the full sun. Does anyone have any idea as to the dosage of probiotics (inner health)? There are several details online, however I have seen that it should be equivalent to human dosage?
  15. No Dentastix!!! The advertising is too easy to buy into.
  16. Inner Health it is. I noticed yesterday that he did not go during the day (he is not shy at all!!!) I think. I did a clean up of the land mines and now for the life of me cannot recall if there was a fresh deposit or two. I will check again today. He is almost totally house broken (couple of little pees here and there). If I were to make some chicken and rice would that further upset his tummy as it is a change in eating? And I am definitely cutting out the treats at least until I am sure that his tummy feels better.
  17. I will pick up the probiotics at lunchtime. Would Yakult do the trick in this regard?
  18. Thanks for that. I will replace the training treats with his kibble (he is on Pro Plan Puppy, wet and dry). I called the vet office and they said to keep an eye on him for the next day or two and then bring him in if the soft poo continues.
  19. He has had these for the past 3 weeks or so. We have given him bully sticks & rawhide knots over the past week also, as well as a Dentastix daily.
  20. The treats we use are Chicken & Lamb Trainups (from Australian Pet Treat Company (product details below) Product Description A delicious crunchy jerky cube, that is the perfect size for training. These little cubes fit perfectly in your pocket or training pouch and are the perfect "mini" size for repetitive training. 21. Hi all, My 13 week old Golden has started having pudding poo, instead of the usual log-type poo. We have not changed his diet in any way, and although he is bright and alert and eating very well, I am a little concerned about this. He seems to poo only at night, especially recently and his first poo of the evening is about 8 or 9 at which time it is soft and pudding-y. He will then go every 2 or 3 hours for a similar type of occurance. I started adding some pumpking (steamed then pureed, 2 tablespoon fulls) to his food as of yesterday and last night was the same as the previous couple. I also gave him some plain Greek Yoghurt to hopefully settle his tummy. Does anyone have any advice? I thought to take him to the vet on Wednesday if things do not settle down.
  22. Hi, We are looking into boarding kennels in the SE of Melbourne. We popped out today to see Dog Country Club & Kennel in Baxterand it seemed good; does anyone have any experience with this (good ? Many years ago we had taken our then Golden Retriever male to Mornington Lodge and unfortunately due to we guess separation anxiety he lost 5 kg in less than a week and licked himself raw. I hate to think that the carers there did not notice he was not doing well. We are interested in something on the nicer side, not one that looks like a dog shelter (like RSPCA used to look; small fenced concrete run. I hope that there are some really great recommendations. Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi all. I grabbed a mailing tube last night an put some treats in and put the plastic covers back on. No crazies last night!!! We have a towel over the bed (tucked in) and although he has the other stuff and exercise he will randomly grab the corner and pull the towel off, then start chewing on the futon cover. Have tried taking the towel off but he will still have a go. When he starts this I grab a toy and try and entice him to grab this. Once he does I smooth out the bed again. Then it starts over. Ideally I would like to get him to understand that this is not acceptable just like the mouthing of feet etc. I have taken away the bed and just put some towels instead for now. I am thinking that I will put it back and then remove it again when he starts chewing. Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
  24. He has heaps of different types of toys (squeeky, kong, ropes etc) and we let him out to play several times during the day. Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
  25. Hello, Our little Murphy (11 week golden retriever) has a fascination for biting/chewing his futon and floor rugs and mats. This usually is during one of his frenetic phases. We have tried the growls, shaking a can of stones, and offering him something else however this lasts only for a few seconds and then he is at it again. We have also tried the bitterant spray, although he doesn't seem to mind the taste! Does anyone have any other suggestions which have worked? Thanks in advance Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk
