  1. ROFL we do that with BCs, there is only one breeder (that i know of) in tassie that breeds red border collies, you can spot the line a mile away, since getting Blue we're always on the lookout for his relatives, I'm often bailing up people and their red BCs to chat about them
  2. I use witch hazel on my own skin and it works well, it may sting a little depending on pain tolerance (mine is stupidly high), mainly due to the high alcohol content. The pimples on Xena nearly looks like rain scald which more common on horses, i don't think i've ever seen it on a dog. Its a skin irritation caused by the skin becoming wet and not drying properly, it rarely causes itching but if not treated it was cause large amounts of hair loss. I've always treated it with salt water. I'm not an expert but if Xena has been outside for long periods there is a chance that it could be something similar maybe??
  3. Me too, especially in PDF format. Due to not having a spell check on the main computer program I use at work, I constantly check my spelling and grammar. Plus my spelling has always been bad, so its something that I really try to get right all the time. Using 2 instead of to or too really rubs me the wrong way, it's a number, not a word. GGGRRRR
  4. I didn't even know the law existed, its common sense, my guys are allowed off-leash, in off-leash areas, the yard (we're lucky to have a 2.5acre yard) or ther fenced areas. Its not hard. I must agree though with the chest beating, our dogs would propably be happy to walk by our sides off leash, doesn't mean its going to happen, my pup needs leash training yes, but i personally think she'd look better walking at my side on a loose leash, it shows off her training and makes me look good not to mention gives me peace of mind if in case a rabbit does pop up out of nowhere, i still have control Maybe we should start looking at getting a bit of a proposal together, although we're in different states it will still be relevent for all of us. It seems that everyone here is agrees that something needs to be done, we've all had situations which could have been avoided if dogs were correctly restrained. I'm happy to start throwing a few words together over the next few days. RIP Cooper
  5. Sorry i'm a little confused, when you say a person who breeds 1 litter do you mean 1 litter a year, month or just a 1 off litter, never to breed again?
  6. +1 Although my dogs do eat organic/free range food from time to time, but we get it free
  7. Obviously there is a problem with the legaslation and the way it is being carried out, sorry but i don't have any answers. From what i've read, if this bill passes and you are a registered breed doing the right thing then you won't be affected, so why worry? However if you are a puppy farm or a registered breeder doing the wrong thing, then there will be trouble. I think the RSPCA may be going to lengths to stop the breeding of all dogs, purebred or not, i can't see this happening, nor it working. This is where the registered breeders who are concerned about being able to continue breeding need to work together with Oscars law and the RSPCA to come to a comprimise. I won't be attending the rally as i'm in a different state, but something has to be done and if Oscar's Law is the only thing being done then i'll support it's proposal.
  8. This is the first i've heard about Harry, i really hope they find him and the man who took him. Dog theft is something thats always in the back of my mind and i own a crossbreed. I've spent many hours at royals with showjumping, many times i've had to leave horses unattended in stalls while competing other horses, but normally there is someone around to watch them, i also used to padlock the stall door and leave a key with a trusted friend in case of incident while i'm gone, unfortunalty there is always the risk, maily with horses, of the general public thinking they are doing the right thing and feeding the horses, generally rubbish that they really shouldn't be eating. I solved most of these issues by putting a sign on the stall, i bite, kick, hate peole ect. It does make you horse look mean and aggressive but its effective. Is there anything we can do as a forum for Kylie? She'd be doing it really tough right now and it may make a difference to know that we are thinking of her through this terrible time.
