They do, but sometimes not enough. During times of stress you sometimes need to add more. This can sometimes include rapid growth.

Thanks for that Taters, I tried Aqua Paws yesterday arvo. Byron went on the underwater treadmill. It's great watching them through the glass. I will try some of the other pools soon too! Thanks everyone.

Thank you very much That's great, I am going to start swimming for that exact reason. I need to build up Byron's chest muscles. Where abouts is the Mornington one? Do you know what it is called?

isiss, is the Devonn Meadows pool nice and clean?

I am going to take my pup to one of the pools in South East Vic. I have found 3 and was wondering what everyone thinks of them and where do you take your dogs? 1. Dogs In Motion, Doveton 2. Devon Meadows Heated Dog Pool 3. Diamonds Kennels I am not using it for rehabilitation, just for exercise and to build chest muscles.

I am going to recommend it to my brother to use on his Westie with a skin allergy too. Are Westie's prone to skin allergies? They sure seem to be. I think i might have read somewhere that it is something to do with the white coat.

Tess32 and I bought a 2.5 ltr bottle to share at the expo yesterday. My 21 week old Goldie pup has a little dry itchy skin so going to give him his first EPO bath in about 30 minutes. Is it ok to use on my Kelpie who doesn't have any itching?

Are Pro Heart montly tablets ok to give? This thread mentions the Pro Heart injection alot, so just wanted to check that the tablets are ok. I give this brand as they are about the only ones that make tablets these days, and my dog wont eat the chews!

I thought I would share one of my favourtie Maxie stories. I was at Maxie's house standing up eating a potato cake when I was introduced to why they call Springers Springers. While I was taking a bite, Max sprung right up took a massive lick of my potato cake and kept on running, lol. I have never in my life seen a dog jump so high! Love you Maxie. Thought you might get a little giggle remembering that Mr and Mrs Springy.

Goodbye gorgeous sweet Maxibon. You will be much missed. You lived life to the fullest. You left no blade of grass un-sniffed, no bird or possum un-chased. You were the craziest most full on beautiful boy we knew, and we loved you so much for that! I'm going to miss the crazy Springer tales. I am so glad that I got to see you one last time last weekend and that Byron got to meet you. You will be missed very much by Tyler and I, we both hold you very dear in our heart, and that is where you will stay, always happy, always in our hearts.

I would be spending some serious time with your dog getting it used to the car. The poor thing is petrified. Go and get her some rescue remedy and spend some time getting her used to the car. I wouldn't put her on the back of a ute if you can put her in the car instead. Treat her for going near the car while it is just sitting there turned off until she is no longer nervous about that. Then treat her for sitting in the car while it is turned off until she is no longer nervous about that. Then do the same with the car started but not going anywhere until you can gradually build up to a short drive.

Thanks Erny those threads are fantastic. We are off to an old peoples home tomorrow to visit, so that should be good for him. We also met quite a few different men of different races last night at the local shops while I was waiting for my dinner to be cooked which was great.

I think you have done the right thing taking the pup back. Puppies take up alot of time, and it sounds like you didn't have enough to start with looking after the kids on your own while hubby is at work. I would hope that the breeder would give you some or all of your money back, depening on how long it takes her to find a new home for him and also how much she gets for him. If she has to keep the pup for a few weeks to find a new home for it, then she will have to pay for food and caring for the pup, she may also have to sell him for a reduced price, so keep this in mind if she doens't offer you a full refund.

I have read K9's puppy development calender and think it will be very valuable. I was more wondering if there were certain stages where you should introduce certain things, but it seems that what I am doing is right and introducing as many new things as possible. So far we have done the following: Socializatioin: We have been to the beach (he even went swimming), been to a cafe (he managed to sweet talk a big rough looking bloke and then fell asleep at my feet), been up a flight of stairs, met some kids, met a few gentle dogs that I know, we have been to puppy school inside a big pavillion with lots of noise and lots of other dogs. We have been through a thunderstorm and fire works. Had visitors come to the door while he sat quietly tonight. He has heard lots of noises incl vaccuum cleaner and lawn mowers etc. He has been in the car a fair bit so is very good in there and just goes to sleep. He is used to wearing a harness and having a lead on. We have booked into another puppy pre-school which starts in just over a week. I had to wait for a place in this course, but I think it will be well and truly worth it. Training: Byron has learnt to sit. He has great recall when there is food. Should I start introducing other things or wait until he has these current commands fool proof?

Yes it is a great picture. I can't take the credit though, that one was taken by Tess32.

I was hoping for some advice on the best times for puppy socialization and training. When is the best time to introduce him to this and the best time to train him that etc..... My Golden Retriever will be 10 weeks old tomorrow and I am trying to socialize him as much as possible without taking silly risks to his health as he isn't fully vaccinated for a few more weeks. Purely for the ooh ahh factor here are some pics of Byron EFS

I only feed ears, trotters, noses etc. I had been told that pork wasn't that good for dogs. In fact, I have heard that Ham is one of the biggest killers of dogs at xmas time. Maybe it's just another one of those stupid myths????

I would definately be up for twilight lure coursing, great idea! Expecially when it starts warming up, I don't think I would want to run my girl during the heat of the day in summer. -
Make sure you come up and say hi to Springergirl and I if you manage to get in Tollersowned

Im so sorry for your loss of Loch
