I would not breed her, you know the risk is there -

Front Feet Turning Out Slightly In Puppy
dragonwoman replied to jr_inoz's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Agree with Ester C but watch dosage...................this often corrects with maturity and chest development, may take two or three years, if it were one leg I'd blame possible injury but not so likely with both........looks awful when they prop like that but increasingly they stand straight and front movement is often great regardless...........my dogs are all related, it's a feature I've learnt to live with -
Why not contact the Welsh Corgi Club of Victoria to see if they have an event coming up?
-
I have a supply of human capsules, what dosage for 15 - 20 kg dogs, please?

As an organiser of events and always first to arrive (6.00 am or sooner) and last to leave, spare a thought for the workers!!!

As far as I can see, there hasn't actually been a breach here? The dog has been mated to a bitch on the main register, even though the owners aren't registered and the resulting litter is also not registered. What do others think? Is the bitch still in the name of her breeder?

I did that when I rang them. Explained the situation and then asked if they were still current and financial. And go the reply of it is a privacy issue. I also emailed the president and received no reply. You need to write to the Committee of Management of Dogs Victoria and formally explain the situation................May agenda is closed but June one closes June 4th

The only sad thing about the ET is that we only get to do it once with each dog. I've known several people who have done ET more than once with the same dog

Breeding For "performance", Not Show
dragonwoman replied to JRT Lover's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would hope that good breeders bred for both.................you soon get to suss out the ones breeding for looks.....quite often the breeder may not be into performance but their prefix will pop up time and again in performance catalogues........... ETA the dog needs "heart" too, many a greyhound written off by some has been a top performer, same with working dogs, most would work despite a less than "ideal" structure, they need to work, it's in the genes!! -
So, I watched some Youtubes and decided to invest in a Dremel for the nails and went to Bunnings..........too many to chose from so I came home without one........what model do I need and what gauge "sandpaper" ............and does anybody use the extension such as in nail salons to get most of the noise further from a sound sensitive dog? I am a poor shopper, very indecisive!!

Being Asked For A Pet Related Donation
dragonwoman replied to Chris the Rebel Wolf's topic in General Dog Discussion
I always decline if approached direct, in person, by mail or phone.......I have my favourite charities............however I do feel guilty when dashing past fundraisers in public as I know they are probably trying to earn a living............good on them for doing it, I couldn't!! -
Murray curly coated retriever? Not recognised by the ankh. To be honest, if I was developing a new breed I don't think I'd be interested in dealing with them either. Some of these breed types are endangered and to survive the maze of compulsory desexing in some municipalities for all dogs unless registered with a recognised body, supporters of these "breeds" need some sort of association with bodies recognised by governments is essential - ANKC included

He is just doing what comes naturally!! It is we humans who don't like it..............probably traces of another dog left many moons ago......plus he will be feeling insecure and needing to remind himself he is on top of the situation

Clicker Training Confidence
dragonwoman replied to dotdashdot's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I was thinking along the same lines - my Em completely fell off the training wagon when she was teething (happened all at once like I've never seen before!) and right before her first season. I just took things very slowly and let her tell me when she was ready to pick up where we left off. Pays to take it easy, boys do it too, suddenly worry about things that didn't bother them yesterday, can't possibly do anything they have been doing for weeks......................given a few weeks off they bounce back..........and all the better for their "holiday" -
Clicker Training Confidence
dragonwoman replied to dotdashdot's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
How old is she? Could be a fear period or around the first season............if I see this in a pup, they don't get any pressure like showing or training at clubs for a few weeks, they stay home, go to non-threatening places and generally are allowed to grow through it............I have seen dogs ruined by being under pressure at this age..............plus the damage to their reputation if they show fear in public.......... -
Rspca 'shocked' At Changes To New Dog Breeding Code
dragonwoman replied to silentchild's topic in In The News
Stakeholders include the pet market suppliers... and they have a very loud voice in decisions like this... *sigh* T. And the working dog breeding lobby..................we are in election mode in Victoria....................the promises coming out of the mouths on both sides are amazing..................we won't know which to chose from in November!! -
