Im Going To Get Flamed For This.. I Do Feel Really Bad Though..
mackenzie11 replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
i totally agree with this one, they were on your property eating your animals, what would have happened if you had of realised they were pets and gone up to them and tried to get them away from the fowls they had killed, they may have very well attacked you , and this would not have been good, it is not your fault they were not secure and not your fault they got into your property and attacked your animals try not to beat yourself up about it, i understand you feel bad but it could have been worse you have the right to protect yourself and your animals on your property -
what about spraying him with a doggy deodoriser, this will leave him and what he lays on smelling pretty, i use this with mollie, have no idea what it is called, i got it from the groomer we use she just put some in a spray bottle for me, so maybe if you use a groomer or know of one you may be able to pick some up

hey every one, just wanted to find out, my mollie started sneezing really bad on boxing day, so bad she was bleeding from her nose, gave her an iceblock and washed her face, she did have some dirt on her nose, and whilst she was on my lap she stopped sneezing, once i put her down she stared again, the bleeding stopped but she kept sneezing, over the next few days the sneezing was much less but still there and no more bleeding, took her to the vet and he gave her antihistamines, vet said if the sneezing did not stop to bring her back and he will put her under and check up her nose for a grass seed or something that she could have sniffed up, the tablets have helped enourmously, but she still has a sneeze in the morning and in the evening, just b4 or after her tablets, nothing anywhere like she was off the tablets, just one or two sneezes, went to the vet today to get more antihistamines and was told because she was still sneezing she has to come in and go under to investigate why she is sneezing, he checked her nose when we went in the first time, he asked if there was a discharge and what sort it was - it was clear she is not off her food - wishfull thinking as she is a pig she is her normal hyper self, not lethargic or anything, still playing, running ect, only thing that has changed is that she is actully going for walks now and enjoying it - a christmas miracle lol what i want to know is with hayfever in dogs do they still sneeze a little whilst on the antihistamines or should it stop completely, cause i suffer hayfever myself and still get the sneezes whilst on my antihistamines, i just don't want to subject her to an operation unecessarly, if anyone has experienced hayfever in dogs and used antihistamines could give me advice it would be great thanks everyone

mollie celebrated her first christmas today, she played all morning with a new soccer ball and tyre rope toy, devoured a kangaroo tail, then...................... crashed all arvo in her food bowl, poor little mite, she looks soooo cute hope every one had a wonderful day -
Good - sounds similar to the sized meals i'm giving them. I think i'll have to switch to premium food because the Optimum isn't really agreeing with them (I got them unexpectantly Wed night, so the best I could do was buy Optimum from supermarket at the time...and they only had the big bags of it!). i had mollie on optimum but did not suit, changed her to pro plan and she is doing fine. but also remember that you have changed their feed completly and a complete change over will most likely result in runny tummies, so maybe give it a few more days before changing, as the change may be the reason,

Care Packages For Troops - Any One Recieved A Response
mackenzie11 replied to mackenzie11's topic in General Dog Discussion
yes you can , i put the original post on here last month for people on this forum to send care packages to the EDDogs over seas, loads of people sent over packages for the dogs, scroll back through and find the topic heading "care packages for our troops" and it has all the information you need, it is a bit late to send for chirstmas but to send in general you should be ok, for the EDDogs was the main reason for putting this information on here as the dogs are the ones that noone really thinks about -
hey all, got a letter this week back from a aussie soldier - female - who i sent one of my packages to, don't know the full details (as i am away and my sister opened the letter) but her name is tara, and she said it makes her so proud to be an aussie knowing that people back home have taken the time and effort to send her and the rest of the troops some christmas cheer, she loved what we had sent i sent 3 all up so hope to hear from the others soon has any one else recieved mail back??????

my mollie loves this stuff, i sprayed it on things i did not want her to chew and she sat there and licked it all off,
-
i have one of these for mollie, it did slow her down, it took an extra 30 sec to devour her food instead of the normal 30 seconds or so, so they do work, just for dogs that are piggies it only slows them down a tad

here is mollie ready to celebrate her 1st christmas

Mack, I didn't think for one minute you were complaining. The bit I've highlighted in blue is what threw me. It says new po numbers. I should have checked your first post before posting that media release. dodger39 dont sweat it, more info the better, that bit worried me also when i read your post as myself and others had already sent packages off and when i saw your post i got very worried that i had the wrong address and told people on here that, and that all the packages were going to the wrong place, but they are the same and it is all cool, i just did not want others worrying like i did to start off, no harm done have a merry chirstmas -

This is the latest media release about care packages. ( hot off the press 10 minutes ago). These addresses are in addition to the one's you already know about Care Packages For The Troops This Christmas Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, Warren Snowdon said Defence has established dedicated postal addresses to enable Australians to send gifts to our personnel overseas for the Christmas period. While the existing Australian Defence Force (ADF) postal service is set up for families of deployed personnel, Defence welcomes expressions of public support for ADF personnel deployed on overseas operations in the lead up to Christmas Mr Snowdon said the celebration of Christmas is an important time for the Australian community but especially so for those ADF, Australian Federal Police and other Australian Government agency personnel and families that are separated during Christmas by overseas operational deployments. “To accommodate parcels and gifts from the Australian public, new Australian Forces Post Office numbers have been established. [see bottom of the release]. “These addresses will be functional until 15 December allowing Australia Post and Defence enough time to get the packages to deployed personnel – some of whom are serving in very remote locations overseas. “Members of the public will be able to access all the information they need with regards to sending their packages, on the Defence website - http://www.defence.gov.au/ Mr Snowdon said. Alternatively, donations can also be made to the RSL Australian Forces Overseas Fund, which has been sending pre-prepared care packages overseas to Australians on operations for many years. Links to this Fund, including instructions on how to donate, will be available on the ‘Support the Troops’ link on the Defence website. For members of the public who wish to express their support through text, they can email their messages to [email protected] Media contacts: Defence Media Liaison 02 6127 1999 or 0408 498 664 Addresses to send care packages to deployed personnel PLEASE NOTE: Packages will not be accepted after 15 December, as they won’t be able to be shipped in time for Christmas. Dodger39 an ex digger. (bit long in the tooth now though) ta for this, the addresses are the same as my original post, only thing that is different is that they have added "christmas Mail" and it also states that they need the packages by the 15th, the information i got originally stated by the 3rd of december, atleast we know some who have not got theirs sent have a bit longer to get them off. -

Remember peoples these packages MUST arrive in sydney by 3rd december in order to be sent over to our troops in order for them to enjoy them -
Mine is only programmed to gorge , i had to fast her to get desexed and she cried and cried and cried till we got her to the vet, she was starving,
-
i wish i had your problem i have tried to reduce mollie down to 2 meals a day with no luck, she is a pig, she hoovers up her meals in 30 seconds - no joke, she devours it, i have just started her on chicken necks for lunch and she swallows the full chicken necks whole does not chew them, when i got her desexed a few weeks ago the vet remarked on how fast she eats her dinner, she sucks it up from the bowl not stopping to chew, she gets 1 cup of pro plan a day & 1 chicken neck, she is starving all the time, she is not skinny and has loads of energy, so she is not really starving she just makes out she is,
-
i luv this pic, is soooo gorgeous, looks like my mollie
-
i totally agree with the no cone responses, mollie got desexed a few weeks back, when she first came home she started licking her stitches, so i went back to the vet and got a collar, she only had it on for about 1 min, cause she could not walk with it on and bumped into everything when she tried to walk, she was very frightened with it on, so i took it off. she did try to lick her stiches and i gave her a firm NO, and that worked, only had to rouse on her a few times the first day home and she got the message not to do it good luck
