There's no evidence that Holistic preparations work. I sure wouldn't trust any holistic preparation to prevent heartworm and intestinal worms in my dogs. edit for appalling spelling.

I bought a small bag of Deliganics Senior. I have it in an airtight container and it doesn't smell awful, it just smells like dog food. The Canidae variety I've been using for ages smells worse. I feed raw for their main meal but I feed dry food for their breakfast with live culture yoghurt. The dogs like the Deliganics.

I've always added a teaspoon of Psyllium husks to each of my Cavaliers food. I've never soaked it first.

As it's just a matter of adding hot water to the kibble without any complicated preparation why do you do a weeks worth instead of feeding it to her freshly done so she could have it warm and smelling good(to her)? Does the kibble not break down enough for her to eat it with her wry jaw by the time the hot water has cooled the food to a just warm temperature? When you say she has very little teeth, do you mean her teeth are tiny or that she has very few of them?

Ah, yes. I can see a couple of pre molars there. She's such a pretty dog.

I wonder what the truth is about how long it was since this dog was fed. My guess is it was a long longer than 45 hours. Poor dog had neglectful moronic owners. I hope they never get another dog.

From past experiences they only tell there will be a delay after you've paid... That's why I stick to Natural Pet Store now! Yes Pookinuk did that to me too. Very annoying! Pookinuk have done that to me too, without explanation for missing items in my order. I don't buy from then anymore. For those who have paid and then been advised that there is no stock. Ask for a refund. To take your $$ when they can't deliver the order is very bad business practise.

I ordered a small bag of the Deliganics Senior from Natural Pet Store. The bag was packed very carefully and their postage is super fast. My dogs like the Deliganics and I will certainly buy from Natural Pet Store in future. Their service is the best I've experienced in many years of buying online.

Sounds like the OP is looking for a watch dog rather than a guard dog. Most dogs are pretty good watch dogs if a stranger comes on to the premises. A guard dog needs specialised training from a professional trainer.

Did the patties cause you not to be such a big fan of BARF? Or is it that you feed the patties now instead of making up a BARF mix? I made up the Billinghurst BARF mix for many years. They're 9 and 10y and they have no health problems, though my 9yo can only eat low fat foods as she's prone to Pancreatits attacks. I take them to the vet every 12-18 months for a health check.

He was talking about cues(not queues). He's giving the dog the cue to bark followed by the cue to stop barking. He breaks eye contact for only a second, like a blink, which cues the dog to stop barking. He doesn't cease or withdraw eye contact.

Have you given your Poms a Cavalier friend, donatella? The Cavalier breed is very prone to being overweight. My vet often mentions it's great to see that my Cavs are not obese. Most of the Cavs he see are overweight.

Wing Tip Wong of Werribee Uni did TPLO on both legs (not at the same time) of my Rottweiler. I don't know if Wing Tip is still doing surgery so you would need to enquire.

My Cavalier boy puts weight on if he looks sideways at food whereas my girl never seems to gain extra weight. What I do is cut down on the quantity of food and bulk it up with cooked pumpkin. Low in saturated fat, few calories and som added vitamins. This seems to work well to get the weight down.

Another here who agrees with a vet check for this oldie. There is medication available for incontinence. I note you're in Vic. It's getting too cold to leave this old girl outside. It is very cold at night. She's a lucky girl that she can live with you where she's welcome inside the house. No wonder she's happier when she's with you.

You're gambling that none of your dogs will need surgery for the four years it takes you to save $10,000. If one of your dogs needs a $7000 surgery next year. What then?

In my case, Yes. My older dogs have been on this product for years but they still develop plaque. When they were able to have daily raw meaty bones their teeth stayed sparkling clean. They can no longer have bones for health reasons.

My Cavaliers have 1/2 a probiotic capsule together with a heaped teaspoon of Jalna Biodynamic yoghurt every morning with their breakfast including on the rare occasions they've needed antibiotics.

I believe Augustine Approved have one outlet for their fresh food. I can't remember where that outlet is. The Super Food Kit is available in a few stores and I think it's added to a raw food diet. Erny will hopefully come along and tell us about it. I believe her dog is fed Augustine Approved. edited:Oops I got the name wrong.
