Oh, that ^ the bolded part, is a bit of a worry. I must say I wasn't impressed with the Mother and the grandfather in the video came across though he'd given the bottle a nudge. I just hope they keep the welfare of the little girl as their primary concern and not the money people are donating.

What a horrible, horrible thing to do. That poor, sweet little girl will have to learn to live with her scars for the rest of her life. I trust that KFC employee's services were terminated on the spot.

I emailed MyPet Warehouse in Victoria today about this new dog food and gave them the website addy. We've exchanged a few emails in the past so they know I'm not a rep or otherwise involved with Sunday Pet food. They said they would have their Victorian buyer look into it. It's a shame the Sunday Pet website is so appallingly slow enough to make most of us run out of patience and give up.

Your Aunty needs to take her dog to the vet. Maybe medication will help, it's certainly worth a try, but perhaps the dog is just what he is and nothing will change him. Why do you think the cause of his behaviour is anxiety? Being separated from the dam and litter at five weeks is not an explanation for his behaviour. Many pups have been separated early from dam and litter and they grow up to be well adjusted dogs. I trust Aunty walks him on a short lead so he doesn't have the opportunity to attack either people or other dogs. She needs to ensure her dog is not within reaching distance to attack people as they walk past.

In Victoria local councils are responsible for leash laws. What council are you in that has no leash laws? The City of Monash where I live has leash laws and plenty of large off leash parks.

I would like to think that ethical breeders would take back or at least make alternative arrangements for a foster home or rehome any dog in need that they bred. Certainly some breeders do take responsibility for a dog they bred but in my experience this does not always happen. It's the responsiblity of the owner of the dog to ensure their dog is kept safe. If they are unable to keep it the breeder of the dog should be given first option to take it back. Circumstances can change and it does happen that a caring responsible owner finds themselves in the position of no longer being able to care for the dog. Then there are the dead beat owners! I think breeders should be responsible for any dog they bred if it needs to be rehomed but this doesn't necessarily mean they should take the dog in themselves. At least they should help to find alternative care for the dog to avoid it being left in a shelter or a pound and in danger of being PTS. eta: Christina expressed it perfectly. I'd like to think hers is the attitude of all responsible breeders...sadly it's not.

I don't think the BC has long fine feathering on the body and legs like a Cavalier. If I'm correct, the BC's hair is coarser than Cavaliers. If I allowed my male Cavs hair to grow long it would be at least half way to the ground. I scissor his coat but his hair is still fairly long. My girl's coat is not as long. The hair is very fine and winds around the brushes.

I thought everyone was polite. Defintely no anger.

I have to empty mine frequently, not because I'm a grot and never vacuum my house but because my Cavaliers are blessed with long fine hair that gets tangled around the brushes.

It's not just PetPlan who have put up their policy prices, the other pet insurance companies have done the same. Do some research to see if you can get a better deal with another company. Make sure you read the PDS so you're aware of all exclusions. In my experience the price they quote is valid for only one year, then the price increases the next year and every following year. The renewal price for my two dogs increased by 98% from the previous year. I couldn't believe it! I'm stuck with the present pet insurance company because my dogs are now 9yo and 10yo. It seems the cut off point to insure a dog is 8yo. At least my dogs are still insured and that's the most important thing.

Off topic but these days no one seems to even understand that the GSDs are a herding breed hence the Shepherd part of the name. Everyone seems to call them a German Shepard! Yes, calling them Shephards is a big peeve of mine too but this thread is about Belgian Shepherds, not GSD's.

Is there any reason why she can't be crated and sleep in your room? Find out from your Grandmother what Poppy's living conditions were and do your best to provide the same conditions for this little dog. She's probably missing your Grandmother and is stressed out by being in a new home.

What a glorious photo of Hawea's commanding officer holding the little dog. Excellent job HMNZS Hawea

How devastating and appalling that the world has lost this magnificent animal to the greed of poachers and the country/s (China comes to mind) who pay these poachers money for ivory. Where were KWS whose job it was to protect Satao? There is much corruption involved in the ivory trade. I would never buy any item of ivory. No matter how beautiful the ivory item, it doesn't come close to the beauty of the magnificant animals who are killed by cruel, greedy people country/s involved in the supply and demand of ivory. The country/s who buy ivory have the blood of this beautiful massive elephant on their hands as much as the poachers who killed him, as do those people who buy items of ivory. Please don't tell me that ivory is also considered to be an aphrodisiac for the limp and flaccid that they sell in those peculiar little shops I saw in Hong Kong. Rest In Peace Satao. There are many who mourn your passing

I think Roomba is best. I have a Roomba and I also bought generic brand which I threw out. It didn't even come close to the Roomba.

I'm so sorry for your loss MW. Godspeed Tess.

You need to research the various pet insurance companies. Their product disclosure statement will provide you with the information you're after. I have two dogs and I think pet insurance is an excellent idea. One of my dogs needed spinal surgery which cost approximately $7000. My excess payment was $250 and after that was deducted from my claim the insurance company reimbursed me 80% of the cost of the surgery.

I leave the forms with the vet and reception calls me to collect them when they're signed. I register all paperwork before sending to the Insurance Company. When they say they haven't received my claim I tell them there is a signed form that indicates they do indeed have it. They usually find it very quickly.

Experienced reputable dog trainers know more about dog training than the average person. My Rottweiler and I had one on one training lessons with a brilliant trainer. I doubt my dog would have responded instantly to my commands had we not learned everything together. I wouldn't rely on Google to teach me this. We send our children to school to learn, so yes we do rely on strangers to teach our children. We don't rely on Google. Dog training has nothing to do with whether or not you're a dominant person. It's about knowing how to train and working with your dog. I don't know how to respond to your ^ bolded comment, words fail me. I wouldn't rely on Google either, if that's what you're implying however to see how others have done it if you don't have friends with Pits who else do you ask, hmm? It doesn't hurt to look up tips and tricks for those who've never worked with dogs in that way before. I'm am replying to the bolded parts ^. I don't believe seeing how to train dogs comes close to knowing how to train. You need to be actively involved in hands on working with the dog/s. Yes, I've worked at lot with German ShepHERDS (correct spelling of the breed) and with Rottweilers. Yep, right up close. I worked hands on with the dogs. I'm not sure how you figure I'd be stammering, nervous and acting afraid. I was quite confident with what I was doing with the dogs.

I wonder where the Sunday Pets rep has disappeared to

For sure you're posting this crap to get a rise out of us. I'm an old person with well trained dogs. Take your frigging age bias elsewhere, along with all your other evident biases as shown by your posts. Give me old people any day over stupid people who post utter rubbish on dog forums. You sound to be very much like the Gold Coast air head bimbos of which you speak Aren't you the one who said in another post if you don't know how to train a dog...Google it. Then you went on to say that's what you do. I believe it.

Aahh! I see. Thanks for the tip melza.

Clever dog. This video has been doing the rounds for many years but it's always good to see just how clever some dogs are.
