I think they are in Melbourne. that's what it says on the website. Well yes, they are in Melbourne but I doubt they would be in the CBD. According to a previous post on here they are in Dandenong.

WTF? Was that really necessary? Not everyone knows the danger of grass seeds. Thank you Big D for the heads up. Sheesh! They're out there in the last 24 hours. Is Halloween the cause of this behaviour?

I would very much like to know how they keep the dogs still enough to carry out the procedure. There are lots of before and after pics on the FB page and it's stated that they don't sedate the dogs. I can't imaging my dogs lying perfectly still while all this is going on.

Very accurate information brightstar, thank you. I have a 10 1/2yo Cavalier who is suffering CHF and though he is on a diuretic he does sometimes have an ascites build up in the abdomen. His diuretic is normally given once a day but when I feel ascites is present I increase the dose of the diuretic to twice a day and it seems to solve the problem.

Their website is not very forthcoming with information. It doesn't even tell us where this vet dentist is located. It seems they are somewhere in Victoria. I would really like to know how they relax dogs and particularly cats enough to be able to carry out the anaesthesia free dental procedure. The animals would already be stressed simply by being in an unfamiliar environment. It is beyond my imagination to picture animals 'opening wide' on the command by the dentist. The concept is great but I would like more information about how this is done.

Is that brand available in Australia? I think the RSPCA sells a pet tracker. Not sure though but it would be worth investigating if you're interested.

What Food Can Your Dog Not Resist?

My previous reply disappeared into the ether. DDD, I am so sorry your young man is not at all well and for the stress you are going through. I hope you see some improvement in him today. -
Where would you be if your dog needed a $7000 surgery immediately as you have just $3000 in your rainy day account? I have pet insurance plus a pet bank account in which I deposit $200 a month. I haven't ever withdrawn from that account for any reason other than paying vet fees. When the insurance company reimburses me I deposit the money directly back into the pet account. My dog needed urgent spinal surgery that cost $7000 all up. The money was in the pet account so I didn't have to worry about how I was going to pay for it. Pet insurance is a good thing but we need to have the money to pay up front if our dogs need surgery. .

Is it possible for you to fly to NZ? If you're happy with the breeder and the pup she's chosen for you, you could fly the pup home with you. It would probably not cost much more than having the pup air freighter to you sight unseen. That's the option I would take.

I just surround the tablet or capsule with cream cheese if the dog is a bit antsy about taking the meds. Though I'm lucky in that both of my dogs are easy they take the meds from my hands. -

Send the hair sample for analysis. Please...just do it! If you want to know what is happening with your dog unfortunately you must pay for it. We all have the same problem when our dogs are not well. Look on Gumtree or Ebay for a used blender. It will cost you less than one vet visit. -

When a dog is having chemo, check with the oncologist before giving Robert McDowell Supplements. Some are contraindicated with chemo meds. I was advised by the oncologist not to supplement my dog with Maritime Pine Bark. My dog was taking various medications prescribed by the oncologist, one being a chemo tablet. The oncologist advised me not give my dog McDowell supplements while she was taking the chemo tablet. Always check with the oncologist before giving any supplements. I'm so sorry to those who have dogs with a malignancy. I know exactly how devastating it is for you. My dog Sophie's journey is in the palliative care forum in the Unwell Rotties thread. When she was diagnosed she had a very poor prognosis of just 3-5 weeks. With the chemo tablet and various supplements that were ok'd by the oncologist, Sophie lived happily for exactly a year after diagnosis.

The way I read is that they were only fed RC except for the weekend when they vomited. OK on rice/chicken mix. I'm reading that they were also not vomiting on the rice/chicken, Perse, since Charjas said they were OK on it. If they didn't vomit while on the RC dry food and they were OK on the chicken and rice. What did they eat in the period between the dry food and the chicken and rice that made them vomit? Charjas, with respect, do you mind me asking you to make your posts a little clearer. We can't try to help if we're not quite sure what's happening. edited to say: On reflection I suspect Charjas is saying they were doing alright on the RC dry until the weekend when they vomited. She then switched to the rice/chicken mix. If this is the case and the RC is the cause of the vomiting I would not be 'waiting for a month' whether the vet said so or not. I would be changing the dry food right away. -

Again I suggest a low fat dry food such as Canidae Platinum for the dog with Pancreatitis. I'm confused. What biscuits are you referring to? You said you only fed the RC hypoallergenic except for the weekend when they vomited. OK so what did they eat on that weekend that resulted in them vomiting? Are you referring to the dry food as biscuits? If so it seems they only vomited when you didn't feed the RC hypoallergenic on that weekend. -
I immediately recognised that was a pic of Fremantle though I haven't been back to my home town of Perth for years. edited because I can't spell.

So your premium has increased by nearly $500 since last year? Last year mine took a massive leap of a 98% increase for my two dogs. It increase again this year but not a major leap like last year.

I have a dog who has pancreatitis attacks if she eats anything with a high fact content. I feed the 'wellness' or 'kangaroo' varieties of Big Dog BARF raw food for her evening meal. Both of these varieties are low in fat. For breakfast she has dry food mixed with low fat or fat free live culture yoghurt. The dry food I feed is Canidae Platinum, it has a low fat content and she tolerates this food well. Why are you waiting for the next episode to decide on a plan? There doesn't have to be a next episode if you plan sensibly now. Pancreatitis attacks cause a dog considerable pain. Why not do your best to avoid a future episode by changing your dog's diet now.
