try soaking her dry biccies in a bit of gravy. I haven't met a dog who would knock this back. One of 2 things that come to mind would be: since she was a petstore pup maybe shes not quiet as old as they told you she was? Although she should still have an appetite. Just went back to see if you had posted a piccie and if she was meant to be 9 weeks old in that shot I would defiantly be questioning her age. And two: has the vet checked she doesn't have a sore throat? Failing these ideas she may just be a quick learner an knows how to get something different out of you. Good luck with your little bundle of joy

Now is the time to watch Indy (post nip). After desexing is when they tend to ROUND up :D I forgot to ease up on freckles and she gained a bit of weight. By no means fat but I realized that I needed to cut back on the lamb bones. Now back to the question, I think the others have hit the nail already. Your pup won't starve so remove the food if not eatten and offer again next meal and puppy will learn that that is what dogs eat. They learn too quickly that 'if I don't eat that she will give me something else" Be strong and you will win this battle. A beagle that won't eat! Now I'd like to see that

Grapes And Raisins Toxic To Dogs!
Freckles replied to Alibi's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The garlic one worries me as I have seen it listed on ingredients on some of the pet foods (can't think of the name right now though). So I wonder if its just the leafy bit and not the bulb bit we cook with? Leaving now for a sec to pick up all the grapes scattered on the floor as I was eatting them and a few fell off the stem onto the floor *hangs head in shame ) -
I know about roo meat as Freckles eats it and I have noticed in the last couple of weeks after desexing that she is FILLING OUT  But don't worry she is buy no means fat just full figured Thanks ricey

Well I have had a break through already, he LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVES gravy and eat the hole bowlfull and looked at me like well wheres the rest. He is between 7 and maybe 9 months as he hasn't filled out down there (the vet said he had  of a 6 month old) and still had 3 baby teeth. in answer to dlmckays question No he hasn't shown any signs of a sore mouth or throat when he eats and his teeth are in really good nic. Thanks for all your responces and I will just have to make friends with the butcher I think as he does love those offcuts.

Thanks for that guys, I wormed him 10 minutes after he walked in the door. The vet said to try him on Hills puppy and he won't touch it. I had thought of gravy and with your advice I will try it today. Thanks Jack Mina he is drinking well and he only eats the lamb offcuts and the back bones I got from the butcher. I know people say a dog won't starve itself but he has no back up fat to go with out eatting so I am just giving him the off cuts. I bought a huge slab of meat for us to eat the other day and trimed off all the fat and bits and I'm giving him a handful of fat twice a day aswell. Keep your fingers crossed that he might turn to the puppy biscuits with the gravy and I will update this again on Thursday. Thanks again

Hi guys, Some of you may have seen the photo of the big boy I have in foster care at the moment and can see how skinny he is. He weighs 20kgs and the vet said he should be about 30-35kgs. OK problem I have is he doesn't seem that interested in food. I have tried him on dry food, pet mince and even table scraps. I have had success with very meaty bones and meat offcuts but I don't think he would put on weight or get a balanced diet with just bones, so I am open to any suggestions you might have to help build up this boys size. Thank you heaps and I'll add another photo of his back
