  3. I agree whole heartedly!!!! I am glad there are no shows on at the moment because the weather is absouloutley horrid, heavy rain and howling winds!! Yuck PS Hounds are very happy on there beds with heater and fire going oblivious to the weather, while i am working myself up to go outside and check chooks etc
  4. The one that I know of and that is still in operation is Davcar and they are located in QLD. Davcar I just looked at this link. These trailers look great. :D

  6. Wjere does a man take his 2 Meter pet Croc? Anywhere he wants to. Sorry coudlnt resist. :D
  7. A few weeks ago I went into a shopping mall and someone had left there poodle at the door, inside, and it wasn't tied up at all!! It was there for over 1/2 an hour in the same spot, as I took at least that long in there. I admired its "stay" ability but couldn't help thinking that no way would I leave my dog a) unattended or b) not tied up for that long unattended!! Poor dog it didn't look happy with all those strangers walking past it.
  8. What a lovely story, congratulations.!!
  9. I would never have thought of doing that, but in the right circumstances, what a good idea.
  10. Hi all. For those interested, tonight I received an email from a website I subscribe too, listing pet friendly properties. http://www.takeabreak.com.au/shownewsletter.cfm?pid=12090 Cheers :D
  11. I agree, I know I would sleep better at night if the my dog was confined to something like a crate, while I was asleep. :D
  12. I am using Advance Growth Large breed, for my 2 dogs, one aged 12 months the other 12 years (her portion is calorie adjusted for her) and they are both doing really well on it. Coats are beautiful and they seem to enjoy it (not that they get much choice lol) + they get heaps of meaty bones.
  13. A couple of years ago I nearly gave up walking my dogs (2 RR's) because of dogs running out of backyards/frontyards at us..... It is never a pleasant experience, and it makes me so annoyed that people can care so little about their own dogs or about what their dogs might do to others!! :mad
  14. Your drawings are really good!!! :D
  15. Love it!! i will have to try teaching my old girl something......usually its her teaching the pup and all of us
  16. Interesting topic. i had always assumed that in residential areas that there was a 2 dog limit. But obviously it is not the same in all areas, i will have to check with my local council....it doesn't say anything on their web page about numbers!!
  17. Hi, I would like to introduce my rising star for 2011. "Huntingridge Africa by Storm" AKA Hunter. At the 2011 April Rhodesian Ridgeback Specialty he was awarded Puppy in show, and today at the Stroud Ag Show he was awarded Best of Breed. I am so proud of him and very excited about his achievements!!! ( he is 11 months old) 2011 04 10_puppy in show rr 2011 april_0094 by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr
  18. I also highly recommend the Canvas covered beds from Great Rugs. My rr pup destroyed all other beds but hasn't managed to rip apart the canvas covered foam mats or the canvas mats on the trampoline beds. He shredded the hessian that was originally on the beds!!
  19. Hi Persephone, I am looking for Winter dog coats and tried the link that you had as a reccomendation but it is not working? Is there another way to get to the site? Huntia
  20. Has anyone received their numbers for the Newcastle Ag show? Regards Huntia
  21. But it's a sad day indeed when a kid can't take the family dog out for a walk on the lead because he hasn't been taught how to walk a dog properly. Too many times I've seen kids walking dogs no bigger than a beagle that are pulling madly and obviously strong for them with arms extended and no 'give' in those small arms should the dog go for another quick lunge. The lead would easily be flicked out of small hands and what then...dog fight.....run over dog.....cat attacked? Anything could happen really but , hey, at least the kids have put down the DS and got off the couch. Really I'd like to see more older kids walking their dogs. Effectively of course. I have been watching from kitchem window th e last couple of days a primary school aged child walk (being dragged by) his puppy while riding a scooter going down a hill at least he had a helmet on He was on the road.... no where was there effective control. It was scary to watch them zoom past. :D
  22. Back when I had time....before kids...lol I had this brilliant idea :D to make a dog coat for my male ridgie....below are pictures of the result. The oh so not impressed model is my female ridgie .. the coat was way too small for my male rr. Poor Tia she only wore it once in public.... at least it was rain proof but I think the other dogs at the park and on the street laughed at her IMG_0002 by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr Tia's coat by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr IMG by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr I had this idea that the male rr "bruno" would look 'tough' in it :D Bruno by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr Going back through the photo album I found Tia's 1st coat... my husband found it in a discount bin....thought it looked like a safetty vest, so he wrote CSC on it (Chinchilla Shire Council) tia's 1st coat Chinchilla Shire Council lol by nicoledwyer22, on Flickr I think maybe I might buy her a really nice coat this time for her 12th winter... looking at her coat history I think she deserves it lol
