I double checked my oz entry entry, and I had entered the puppy under my name as the new owner. I have also submitted an enquiry to oz entries about it, and for any paper entries I will highlight that I am a new owner of said puppy :D For now I guess I just have to wait and see whats in the next catalogue :)

Hi all :D Yesterday I attended a show , and one of my dogs appeared in the catalogue as being still owned by te breeder rather than myself. I did the entry for the show through oz entries. The puppy was shown twice by the breeder in the breeders name, but this wouldv'e been the second show with her being in my name. Apparently the breeder had entered her using ozentries the 2 times previously she was shown. Do I need to contact anyone about this? or not worry and see what happens next show? Thank you :D

ditto they are the same commands I use, usually with hand actions thrown in :D

Our yard is 2.5 acres, that sits in the middle of a 600 acre cattle property. When we arrived it was fully fenced with wooden posts and railings, and other parts were fenced with plain wire and barb. The dogs (3 Rhodesian Ridgebacks) could get under the bottom wire/rail so we ran an electric wire around the whole yard. No dogs getting out and no dogs etc getting in!! (outside the fence are bunnies, cows and the occassional kangaroo) We are really happy with it so far. Touch wood since moving in last march we haven't seen any snakes either ( we did get a visit from a goanna when my husband had turned the fence off, that freaked me out completley , haven't seen it since the fence was turned back on)

I noticed yesterday that the local petbarn had them (thundershirts) in stock. Hope you find something and good luck

What Wound Dressings And Sticky Bandages Actually Stick
Huntia replied to Huntia's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Have been to the vet. Good news in that she doesn't need to have the wound covered and she doesn't need to wear the elizabethan collar . Treating it by squirting a dilute iodine mixture that the vet gave me into the wound 2-3 times a day, and all should be well in 2 weeks -

Dettol is toxic to dogs, best rinse it off to be safe i have rinsed the cream off, and i will ask my vet about it this afternoon The dogs haven't licked it off as they do not like the smell. So none has been ingested, and the dog with the wound can't get to it because of the elizabethan collar. -

Thanks guys. I have decided to take her into the vets and get them to show/reccommend how to do it. Until than i have given up trying to keep it covered.( i spent an hour yesterday trying to improvise something with no luck ) She has a "buster" collar on to stop her from licking it and i have stopped putting paw paw cream on it (although that was keeping it beautifully moist) and i am putting dettol antiseptic cream on it, which seems to have stopped the other 2 dogs from wanting to lick it -
My RR male as a pup chewed everything in site, I eventually found the nylabones and have found them fantastic and can happily say that at 17 months of age he doesn't chew much any more :D .

How To Minimise A Puppy Chewing On An Older Dogs Neck When Playing
Huntia replied to Huntia's topic in Puppy Chat
Thanks, I will try Aloe. The house we are in at present had heaps when we first moved in, but the old girl (13 yr old RR) bit it all into small pieces, spitting it out never swallowing it and than she preceded to rip out the bases roots and all!! So now there is none left. The little bugger has done this ever since she was a pup at every house we go to, even if it is just for a short visit!! Mum's Aloe plants get regular "trims". -
Soft Tissue Injury Near Carpal Bones
Huntia replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
No they didn't xray, as the vet said at the time that treatment for a sprain and greenstick fracture was the same. Where the swelling is now is not where the original problem was . (the swelling is coming out the side now.) It's funny but it reminds me of how Japenese women historically used to bind their feet (to make their feet smaller and "dainty" )and they became misshapen. The leg/foot was only in the splint for a week, so I hope the foot will regain it's shape. But I will take her into the vet, tomorrow. -
Soft Tissue Injury Near Carpal Bones

Very interesting topic! My 17 week old RR pup has a "lump" on the side of her foot, that has come up after being in a splint for a week for a suspected greenstick fracture/sprain of the fourth metacarsal (toe). The toe has healed fine but her foot seems misshapen . She is on Anti imflamatories, and she has been out of the splint since late Friday night. I have been debating whether to take her back to the vet or leave it to see how she goes. It doesn't worry her to move on it but it is tender to touch. (not hugely but she does move away when I try to play with it) So do We go to the Vets or let time heal it???? Opinions welcome -
I looooove Ag shows!! These are the only dog shows my husband will come to with me . They are usually super friendly, and so far we have never had to pay extra to get in, and that with oh and 2 dd's. I did part of the central west circuit this year and the grounds of the ag shows we attended were excellent. And no crazies sighted!!

How To Minimise A Puppy Chewing On An Older Dogs Neck When Playing
Huntia replied to Huntia's topic in Puppy Chat
I decided to lather the older dogs crusty neck in vitamin e cream twice a day for a few days.... the puppy took a couple of licks....and is hardly touching his neck now!! I will continue to apply just to help his neck heal quickly and hopefully minimise the scaring :D I would have stopped with this method if I saw the puppy licking his neck excessively. :D -

Tips On How To Remove Dog Hair From The Car
Huntia replied to Huntia's topic in General Dog Discussion
;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Buy a new car DO NOT LET DOGS IN And it still fills up with hair    I think it is time to buy a new car.....that is why I am thinking of ways to get the hair out!! The car prior to the one I have now which is a Toyota corrolla station wagon, was a Honda CRV. It was wonderful in that it had the covers that go up the sides etc...unfortunately I couldn't get one for the Rolla I have tried vaccuming with the nozzle off, and using a "magic sponge" that claimed it would remove hair from any surface....they lied. The next thing I am about to try is sticky tape rolled around my hand. It is only the boot/cargo area that is a problem and the carpet on the floor is fine it is only the sides that are -
Hi all, I am looking for some tips, and hints that people use to remove dog hair from their cars. In particular the cargo area where the hair seems to really stick up the sides etc. I would love to hear/read what everyone does. :D
