  1. This sounds nearly identical, but today i went and felt maccas chest and he has a firmer two lumps i'm just thinking they are muscle hahah fewww! i feel lie an idiot But a trip to the vets will not hurt anybody except my wallet.
  2. ohhh your book <3.. now that's what i could do (if my photo's were even half decent) and i some how had you taking them then i would have a beautiful book of memories haha great idea, Great book Helen, your photos are stunning.
  3. HOW DO YOU GET INTO THIS KIND OF JOB! would love to do a job i enjoy and get to handle train dogs, i have searched the net, sent emails and they have just sent me useless material about the job role !
  4. it doesn't feel hard but more like a firm water balloon but a tiny one.... worst timing if it is. yep a vet appointment but suggestions please keep coming!
  5. huge panic attack about 20 minutes ago. i went away yesterday night and just got home today (now), so the usual went out and hugged my dogs and gave brandy a huge cuddle as she was quite affectionate tonight and felt something about the size of a small golf ball or tiny water bomb... freaked out and had another feel around her chest area or breast bone as we call it, where here white marking in siggie, the problem is i have no clue if it is fat lumps it cancer lumps?? Only when i grab her skin and move it n a rubbing motion i can feel it. As when her skin is just sitting there it tucks into the dinted holes (which i don't know what they are called) on her chest bone area. she is about 5 and has never really had any health problems infact none that i can even think of that affect her health. Can any one tell me how to check if they are fat lumps or cancer lumps by touching her? other wise a trip to the vets is needed.
  6. more fun!!!!!, smaller interaction groups, fast paced, gamed training for one exercise. At our club since there are soo many people with there dogs a lot of bush bashing happens in the beginers corner and even further on.... I am doing motivational training at the moment for beginers, haven't really stuck to the books at all. i have alot of high drive dogs that don't coupe doing fifty exercises in a row for a piece of food each time not even my own dog wants to be there. so i am teaching them rewards of a different kind to use at home eg. tugs/balls as well as food. The dogs certainly know the difference, and will want to work now that the handlers have been informed and know how to start training with drive, focus and longer attention spands. My wish list but it probably won't happen as it is too much of a distraction for younger classes which is a shame as most dogs would probably perform better.
  7. HAHA great glad I'm not the only one with smelly dogs. Max#1, yes i wasn't sure whether or not to say farting or popping off haha i knew popping of sounded more polite. I think it could be me adding more food to her kibble change in diet plus the chicken fat from wings and necks now she is growing, i know it caused macca to let off some rippers that were really bad. I wonder if there is anything natural you can add to a dogs diet to reduce the smell like parsley to bad breath
  8. Is farting often normal for dogs? My boy Macca use to do it on the ole sly when he was near us a while ago constantly while sitting on hard surafaces and use to look down to his butt like it didn't come from there , i was just thinking he is trying to digest the chicken wings or the fat content?. But now the pup i have, in the past few day has been letting slient but deadly pop off's go a few times during the day, in Which she never use to do and they stink. So what i am asking is; Why do only some dogs fart when they are normally on the same diet as the rest of the pack? Is something upsetting their stomach, and having trouble digesting? what can cure the smell when it comes out/ or before it comes out.. (have heard charcole tablets) not the best of topics but anyways, here hoping there are more dogs the same.
  9. i spose a pup eating its own poop is just as horribly gross aswell and fits into this embarrassing category ??? glad it is normal, (to the dog's) i though she might be lacking in something in her diet.. eating her own poop sounds worse ;)

    Lead Training

i have a young 12-13 week old pup atm we don't do any walking or anything outside but when the lead is attached around hungry time aka dinner. she gets hand fed yummy chicken and we do a bit of training around the yard or house. She doesn't even know it is attached and she behaves perfectly and we let her drag it as it is a light cord and we are starting on lifting the lead up and down while treating her and doing some clicker training. she is more focused on the food then a light lead.
  11. week 8/52 for Macca worst dog to photograph his face never changes haha "i gotz ballz"
  12. when they have trial obedience/agility there is no obedience classes on the grounds normally they will either have lower classes come and do it on the show side or another day. As they don't like dogs being near the agility/ obedience rings etc.
  13. so this lady needed a good wack in the snoz by the sounds! what a dick head dog owner exactly the reason why SBT get a bad wraps. bloody bogans, wish it was them who got bitten then it would be a different story.
  14. i would say a border collie or a koolie. My kelpies likes dogs with similar activity and drive. thats why we got a dog of the same breed but we didn't have restrictions on the cards. doesn't hurt to look on rescue websites for cross breeds you might find a dog that suits.
  15. WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR NEW SOUTH WALES ON PB'S eg.. banning, fines, pts if caught with one, do they have to be caged/muzzeled registered with council?? INFO ASAP PLEASE.. p.s i do have own but a friend of a friend (i don't know) has some how got one ? 6 weeks f.f.sake people need some educating ! not blaming the breed but we all know what "tuff" blokes are like gahh! bit late now for anything but i personally would like to know to pass it on if that is even possible
  16. first sunday of the month except january, is enrolling day. Best to go the sunday before and do all the forms it is much easier and less stress with out your dog. Your dog must be vaccinated and up to date, if your dog is on heat they are not allowed to go until they are finished ummm.. class starts at 10 am every sunday, dogs must be on lead and under controll umm i think $20 a year for a single person training the dog and then every time you go it is $3 which includes three sessions which are about 20-30 minutes per session depending on weather and instructors available etc any thing else ?
  17. there is always something amazing about a merle coloured dogs that i love this is what i quickly snapped of my friends dog when she came over as she doesn't sit still. as i didn't get time yesterday as i went to michael buble' had to do a shitty one >> today 7/52
  18. we had a similar situation about 3 months ago with a pup she hurt her leg somehow ?? and was limping around for the day. thought she might have jard it so i stretched, massaged, heat pack, cold pack and she showed no signs of discomfort or pain one week later after two trips to the vet fractured leg
  19. we vacc every year. we have many foster dogs and pups from the pounds and they tend to have something that they have picked up so to us it is not worth the risk atm and to do obedience etc they have to have their current vacc to attend. our cat on the other had first three the never again.. i probably wouldn't after the their fourth needle if our circumstances were different.
  20. One of my foster pups had something similar all over her back, an insect bite is what we thought of she acted normal and the reaction went away after a few days. feels lumpy and the hair is raised for our pup but no side effects.
  21. i make my own martingales, if you know some older lady who likes to use a sewing machine if you supply the materials, soft nylon, chain and D rings etc. they would probably make one for you for nothing or a small amount i'm sure :D
  22. 1) i would do the "fetch hold give" part right infront of you over and over and let her hold it for a short amount of time less then 4 seconds and reward each time for her concentrating, then place the dumbell on the ground about 1 m infront of you send her and take the dumbell imediately and then treat it gives her less time to chew and start to slighty build up that time.. just a suggestion i have no clue if it would actually work with your individual dog. Number 2) on lead, use a wait command/stay and hold the lead loose enough she doesn't know you have her on lead but close enough you can give a quick correction if she goes to fetch the dumbell without a command. 2)throw the dumbell over and over with you dog on lead and don't let her get it you can give her a correction when she breaks from a command eventually she will give up then send her and throw a few then send mix up the amount of times you send and throw. 2) put dog in sit stay walk a and place dumbell on ground walk back to dog then send.
