  1. MY week 10/52 my handsome DEVIL haha! bit late in posting this week but made it on time OUT TAKE>>>new in Oz the Chinese kelpie, (please don't take offence just ironic between the photo the the breed of dog)
  2. little chocolate delights so adorable !
  3. i have heard one that a lady's dog punctured or opened a small area of skin on a baited rat and later died but my girl caught/found the dead rat that i had rat sacked and she is still alive (but she didn't mark the rat with her teeth) Maybe read up on rats and where they go to die we had ours hiding in the garage with the bait, then found it right down the very back of our yard in bushes dead. check your yard evey morning before letting your dog out ? supervised play? on lead ? hard to control, would be great if you had a front yard.
  4. my vet told me just to use the treatment we were using (revolution)rather then the injection, but i am think about changing to interceptor as we don't have fleas and seems to cover everything.
  5. Sounds like a typical goldie chucking a wobbly because it isn't going their way. Open your dogs mouth chuck it down the back of it's throat praise your dog and give it some chicken afterwards and let the dog have its hissy fit. too bad if she doesn't want the tablet. Sorry tuff luv here for those who chuck tantrums, there is no nice way to give a tablet. it only last a second and they move on unless we fuss over them.
  6. i would talk to the breeder you will be deciding on, and ask her how her dogs get along male/ female and female with female, you may just end up with another female i have seen males of the same breed (springers) get along beautifully vice versa with females depends on the breed and the temp of the pup. I am sure two collies would get on no matter the sex as they are stunning haha little biased!
  7. A sweet heartwarming view for me from my adventure today, i was walking my boy macca (kelpie), along the lake near my house and we stopped to greet this poodle (my boys favourite breed ) and a young man in his mid 20's i would say with a beautiful blue Amstaff with white socks was walking by both macca and this poodle wagging his/her tail, right beside his owner in heel, with a loose lead and behind him was another Blue Am staff puppy, learning heel with this man's partner by the looks. I was very impressed to see this dog in the right hands walking along, not lunging or pulling or even staring, both adult and pup walked along so gracefully not so much the pup haha (they didn't stop i was really amazed to see this young chap with his dog undercontrol and looking healthy and friendly, (hoping they are not BYB) but you never see "young boys" i call them with a well behaved dog let alone this beautiful Amstaff. positive sign and new out look for me.
  8. that seems fairly cheap compared to other products. thank you
  9. is yours a fly eater/snapper too? i have got a few kelpies with the tounge happening haha, the facial expressions that follow, soo funy too! this is little rufie he is a character! i caught him at the wrong moment
  10. my pup was vaccinated c5 on the 21st and just got K.C the other day, it made me very wary of where i was walking her and what other bloody dogs where not vacc that she met!!!
  11. What price range are both these products in and how often is it given?? weight range is about 25 + interceptor sounds perfect for my dogs as we don't get fleas either.
  12. 8 months a still chewing ouch! Trying taking your new pup for a big walk and run (if possible) in the afternoon and morning and some mental exercises like obedience inbetween, come night time your new pup should be buggered enough to not chew anything hopefully! It has worked for most of my fosters dogs. Also leave some toys like kongs filled with food that take a long time or an ice cream container filled with water and treats, frozen and left out like a slow melting treat to keep him busy if you don't have enough time. And you can also buy deterant bitter sprays to keep him from chewing vaulable objects that belong to Elle but other that what i have personally used, training and exercise has been the best combo for destroyers that have come from a kennel. good luck that is all i can suggest from personal experience.
  13. i have all the ribbon and nylon here with me i just needed to buy these "snap hooks" thanks it doesn't sound like a bad idea for my fosters.
  14. I am not the rescue group i am just a carer i don't pay for any vetting i only provide a safe home from being pts food water affection and training as in obedience. It is the rescue responsibility who decided who they take in and what they what to do which special cases, i think this group is eating more then they should chew and can chew money wise it is nice to save all of these dogs but if they cannot pay for their needs the dog should not be taken into care, and i just get any pup that needs a foster home and look after it so i am doing more than my fair share anyway trying to help this dog and many others. No one else wants to take on puppies as they are so much hard work anyway so thanks for your help, but please do not assume.
  15. The bunnings i went to didn't have the right sizing the few times i have been there, they are either to heavy and big or too small for the nylon and ribbon. thanks for your suggestions i will try those
  16. is there a special place online that people use to directly buy there products from?
  17. where can i buy or order online these dog clips in different sizes? i am running short on leads for my dogs and fosters so i want to make some cheap but i don't know where to buy these in different sizes as the ones from Bunnings are too big. any ideas/tip welcome
  18. TESS FOUND HER HOME TODAY BY LUCK AND WILL BE GOING TO SYDNEY AND RUFUS THE KELPIE X PUP WILL BE GOING TO DUBBO TOMORROW YAY.
  19. she isn't on tin food, but seems like she was lacking something gross lets hope in her new home she stops haha
  20. i think organs like you have mentioned should only make up 10% of the dogs meal/s as in large abouts can do more harm then good, not that long ago i spent $70 just on fruit and veg all for my two dogs
  21. Tess just ate her own poo again GRR so frustrating it is driving me nuts!!! went to get the scoop and by the time i got back she had eaten a huge bit! wtf like seriously i just fed you dog! i don't want her head, mouth or body near me haha no matter how cute she is ! I'm so over it! the other pup doesn't do it follow by example!
  22. my dog will put puppies in there place before they even start to get near her but as soon as a dominant dog comes along whether big or small she is the first to drop or back off. she is normally very accepting of other dogs and will mostly ignore then when she is focusing on something but other wise she would rather fall behind and follow the rest of the pack. i would like her to be more accepting of puppies getting close to her though, so win loose situation for me.
  23. I think she needs time to adjust to the new life. How much time do you have for training? Our boy was 8 when adopted. Cried when I was in another room :D for the 1st couple of weeks. What we did (and still do): Zero attention when crying, a quick yes (marker) & reward when he stops for a second. This goes alongside obedience (needs to shape marker word etc). Reward him when we leave the house (we use treat balls/ bob a lot) - these rewards are not available otherwise. Well between her, my own dogs, other foster pup and my classes training, she doesn't get as much as she probably could. she has settled in here fine but it is when she goes to her new home that will be the problem i dread. I would keep her if i could but Don't have the room for three, time and money.
  24. He is so cute what breed? He looks like a whippet in the last beautiful shot, wow zero come from the pound he looks so stunningly clean compared to his mug shot. Ironic that both your photos have purple flowers hehehe. Kenny isn't famous as in star or movie man, but is one of the main mascot dogs for AWDRI rescue and has been in many front page articles in melboure and well as the daily telegraph so has made a huge impact on AWDRI and lots of plugs for working dogs so that is why he is famous and much loved.
