  1. thank you, i have a feeling the treats for training would be my problem then hahaha whoops cabanossi, cheese and chicken..bugger might start to use more tug toys! as they do not get any extra treats ever or fed high fat content foods and only 2 cups quality premium dry with either some raw meat or bones for some meals plus added fish and vitamins or veggies. can say now it is warming up a good swim will be great, i use to do bike riding with them but the roads would cut up their paws. thanks common sense comes to the rescue
  2. i would love to get a few Kg's off my two dogs... they are not over weight but not an ideal weight atm due to az long winter lol where i have been busy. what are your tip's tricks routines, feeding diets and exercise ideas.. please share.
  3. is the dogs small, then it is normal to vomit from comfortis. did you feed the dog with a large meal about 30 mins before hand ?
  4. dog 1 is scared of : thunder, crackers, but loves vaccum cleaners, blenders, and motor bikes, which i don't get Dog 2 scared of: any type of electric wheelchair, prams, and kids OMG but loves motor bikes and lawnmowers... my dogs have there noises confused haha ETA dog two also: mortified of black Newfoundlands.
  5. Hi every one i rescued a very young pup, i do not have an exact age as he grows so quick i can only assume he is 3.5 weeks to 5 weeks old. he is a big mouther, and biter (latches on with his toothy pegs) i want to correct him when he bites to hard and holds but he does not respond to squeels, i have a feeling he has not been in a pack environment for long. my dogs don't really want anything to do with him and just walk away, my older girl has told him off once for getting in her face, just wondering what actions i can/should mimmic to bring this dog up to learn the correct social skills. so when he is in a pack environment he can read body language and other dogs signals to approach correctly and understand when to back off. any ideas ?
  6. can tell you, i got my second dog wayy to early and he has fear dog aggression caused by not staying within his litter to learn how to properly socialise and learn with them, he came home to another dog and they get on fine but other bigger, dominant dogs he cannot handle in his face. not something i would care for again hope you find a solution.
  7. well here is Poppy and just look at her now ! For those who don't know, this female bull terrier (now named Poppy) was found abandoned in the middle of a hunter bush emaciated, burnt and and a poor soul left to die . It have been seven weeks and and we now have a new dog who is looking for a forever home !!! if you think you can give poppy a forever home jump onto www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au and search for Poppy! Poppy is a beautiful, purebred Bull Terrier available for adoption from Dog Rescue Newcastle She's is approximately 2 years old and about 15kg. She LOVES people and is very friendly. Poppy needs a family with some experience with dogs. She is young and quick to learn but needs firm leadership to get the best from her. She wouldn't be suited to a family with very young children (only because she can be a bit clumsy) or other pets. A yard check and ID check will be required. Please read Poppy's full profile at http://www.petrescue...au/view/115348 and see more photos at http://tinyurl.com/dogsnew If you would like to give Poppy a loving home, please contact Catherine on 0458-422-157 or email: [email protected]
  8. hahah you are in the same pickle as me i have use both the kibbles, pro plan and holistic,, i found the Pro plan S.S and Stomach one put a lot more weight on my dogs than the hol anch, sal kibble but i found both really good minus the price. they are currently on holistic and are doing really well on it and coats are doing great too.
  9. the whole this is this dog was with me before being re-homed and he was a true working dog through and through bred for it too, i have had him off lead at a park near a busy road and large car park many times no problems i have had him at the beach and i was the only thing he was interested in, recall was nearly perfect every call, minus him rounding up birds a few times. and he showed no interest in cars, only the chuck it stick and fetching. he is not a soft dog and would be a top working dog with herding, but they would only use positive methods in which i don't think would work not talking about hitting or anything aha but a quick check i think would help him to take them seriously.
  10. (not my dog) but this working dog loves to try to chase cars on lead. he is not allowed offlead in fear he will go after the cars he is a new dog and is about 5 m.o.. how do you stop/influence this behaviour?
  11. you deffinately have a part kelpie, sounds like my girl, as you stop patting her she demands more by wooing and making crazy noises + softly and putting her paw out on you until you keep patting they are very persistant and demanding i find when they want to do something. also i notice when she eats something slimy or yummy after she has eaten she will rub her face on the carpet or her bed making same noises and growling in plesure ahah. and face pulling is part of it.
  12. oh deffinatly, i have one DA dog and one social dog, the mean dog stay's well away from any off lead areas partly because of the what if's, we are going to leave this park alone my girl and myself don't need to be put in any harm. i wouldn't have the conscience to sue someone that much money for an accident, hell i would be bankrupt lol 30 k is a lot of money to a single person. that last post helped a lot thank you, it is always good to know what you can and can't do and to know what to avoid :D ta
  13. OUCHH! woah keep stories coming would hate to be in that position!
  14. this must sound like the dumbest thing to many people on here but here it goes haha when it comes to anything legal i have no clue i am young and keeping up with legal proceedings in't my cup of tea to follow, this isn't happening to me nor am i sueing anybody but i would like to have some back ground info because i visit parks a lot where other people have been attacked recently, if it were to happen about irrisponible dog owners and attacks as such. Can you Sue for these, and if so under what circumstances for all? *if a dog attacks a human unprovoked, human gets hurt blood is drawn? *Dog bails up human unprovoked, no one is hurt? *Dog attacks human provoked, human gets hurt? *Dog attacks another dog, unprovoked, dog gets hurt, what happens? *Dog attacks another dog unprovoked, dog doesn't get hurt? MAIN one wanted "Affending dog owner is around to see all" these may sound higgilty piggilty but some one smart can answer i would be most appriciated.
  15. you will just have to wait and see Haha, my boy had one floppy after a while it soon went up not perfect now but its up. ruby is meant to have her ears up too, and still floppy.
