  1. Thats okay it was fun to find! I hope this one is a bit trickier:
  2. You know if I didn't know what the breed was called from where I found the picture, I would have said "yes" because they look so damned similar, but no, no cigar. ETA: Ah apparently they're both Mediterranean island hunting dogs.
  3. I've always thought that Akira is hands down the most beautiful Sibe I've ever seen!
  4. I like my big-eared dogs apparently
  5. Yup, was it too easy? --Lhok No, i was gonna say dutch shep but the face was wrong. Mismarked Labrador
  6. Start thinking a different continent, they're not European
  7. I guess the tail on that last one was curled They are known for their big ears and make good fighting/guard dogs.
  8. Nope, it's not a Spitz breed. Here's another picture: He comes in a variety of different colors, some of which are black and sable.
  9. Nice one. Wrong country though!
  10. Yes they have great prices but shipping costs instantly doubles the prices I don't buy one or two items though, I buy quite a few of them and it still equates to less than Aussie prices. Pawtastic Pet is also my favorite but smaller range unfortunately.
  11. I bought my soon-to-arrive puppy a harness for when he's an adult too. Surely other people are this crazy.. right?
  12. I checked out Coles today, they didn't have that large a variety of stuff for me and I had already bought all that stuff for half of those prices overseas! Arcata Pet is way better than Clean Run for shipping--bigger range too.
  13. Oh man, well there you go! Lucky you didn't like the look of them then! To me though, I can't tell the difference between any Akitas on the litter pages Probably the same for you and Vallhunds though. You should go over to the Spitz thread and tell them the news, I'm sure everyone would be enthralled and start pushing their litters towards you They're nice folks over there and you might be able to start socializing with some of the breeders--there's quite a few on that board whom are regular posters!
  14. Try this place. That's how I figured out the size for my Hugo. It's pretty useful if I say so myself!
  15. I've honestly never seen one in person either But I'm in love with their personalities. They're called the clowns of the dog breeds, I hear lots of owners say that every day with a Vallhund is a happy day full of laughs, and I need a LOT of cheering up right now. I first found them on a couple of those "Find the best breed for you" websites, they kept coming up in my results (not as the first result but they were still consistently there). And I just loved the look of them, they're really masculine-looking dogs but they're not huge like German Sheps or Huskies. I dunno, just love everything about them and the more I heard about them the more interested I got And luckily I got on the first waiting list that I applied to with a really nice family a state over who are first-time Vall breeders
  16. I was thinking along the same line as you, don't worry. I bought myself a wire crate that will fit an adult of my breed. I will partition off a section during toilet training but after that, he's free to have the whole crate to himself. There's no point in buying a separate crate specifically for a puppy when you can just buy an adult-sized one and then just partition off a section for toilet training for a couple of months.I'd get the wire crate. Puppies go through teething and they will usually chew up soft crates--soft crates are not for puppies, soft crates are for adult dogs who have learned to respect their beds!
  17. Only one of them was tied up Well I think they both were at some point but during the video, the female's leash got mysteriously severed by the looks of it.I would totally never let a child go near strange, unattended dogs either, although they actually turned out friendly, you never know which way it will go at the end.
  18. Exciting!! What breed is Hugo? Any pics? Love the name! He's a Swedish Vallhund ;) It's one of these babies here, I don't know which yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for the lightest boy though, he's gonna be a spitting image of his beautiful mumma
  19. I've seen a few reports now that say that spot-on treatment for dogs is doing more harm than good, but.. what are the alternatives? I hope the lawsuit will encourage companies to make "natural" spot-on treatments (if there ever could be such a thing)--I'm sure they'd be a hit with the public!
