I had a dog stolen from my yard by people who claimed she was theirs. The police didnt want to know about it. If it was a boat or car they wouldnt have done something. In their words, they had no facility to hold a dog until rightful ownership was established. I had papers and everything to prove she was mine but possession in this case was 9/10's of the law. I never saw my dog again. i was devastated to the point I moved house because everytime i entered the building I expected her to be there I still have her rego tags, bowls, toys etc.. Even the council didnt want to know about it, everyone kept passing the buck. That's so horrible  If someone stole my Hugo and I knew who it was, I would simply kill them. If he was lost though.. after regaining consciousness, I would print out flyers and send them off to newspapers and post them all over town. Probably go doorknocking every day. I dunno, man, I don't want to think about it.

I will never understand people who say that Spitz breeds don't have a doggy smell. I have a Vallhund, they're spitz breeds and he does smells like a dog (albeit not as bad as a Labrador or a Maltese) and everyone who visits us comments on how the house smells like dog! I think they mean Spitz breeds don't smell BAD in comparison, but to say that Spitz don't have a doggy smell is totally untrue! Anyways, I wash Hugo once a month, usually a couple of days before his Advantix application.

...Daaaamn! If I knew I could do something like that, I would have called the ranger on that rotten Rottweiler that jumped our fence and killed off half our flock But I agree with the posts here, it sounds a bit suss.

I like those collars too I'm a fan of very simple designs and some of the stuff circulating around with a million different things on it and diamantes and embroidery etc etc makes me cringe.

Breed Spotting At The Million Paws Walk

If you went to the Brisbane one, the Swedish Vallhund you may have seen may have been mine since Hugo was the only one of his kind there I saw Chows, they were so fluffy omg Also saw a Finnish Lapphund, she was the only one there too. And a Kangal. Kangals are enormous! Oh yeah, and there was also a Shiba Inu there. :D They're much smaller than I thought they'd be. -
Ah okay, thanks for informing me :D

I didn't notice puppies, but Hugo could easily pass for an adult, I doubt they would even check TBH, unless they were obviously pups of course, but even then who knows Dju you would have heard about it from me if you let Hugo go on that equipment, pups aren't allowed to even start training until they're 12 months old minimum, Lexi is 17 months and she isn't starting until July! If you're interested in agility thats great, but don't rush it, you can cause big physical and psychological problems if you put pups on equipment. There is a lot of work you can do with pups to prepare them for agility, but they shouldn't be even LOOKING at equipment until at least 8-12 weeks into their training Ah, okay, I didn't know that it had an age limit Like obviously you wouldn't take a tiny 8 week old puppy onto the equipment but I didn't know about the 12 month thingo I thought there was enough water and they were changing the water quite frequently from what I saw too.. there was four spots for water in the marketplace thingo and one in the middle of the walk (I didn't think they really needed water that frequently on the walk, I mean, Hugo goes an entire walk when I take him without even looking at water and just drinks up when he gets home). I kept taking Hugo over to them so he could drink but he told me he'd had enough water and just gave me "the look" every time I'd pull him away from another dog to try keep him hydrated.

I did not.. even see any agility equipment. D: Dammit, I kind of wanted to have a try too. I didn't take many photos at the end of the day, it was hard enough getting around trying to let Hugo sniff everyone's butt, let alone to take photos with one hand.

I'm arriving just before 8:30am, hopefully (before the car park closes, durr). Ooh, I hope that's not a problem for Keira&Phoenix, because by the sounds of it, she'll be arriving after 9. The walk starts at 9am sharp, so I hope she gets there in time! Who is bringing the shirts in the even that she doesn't make it in time?

Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Harness Like This?
Dju replied to fuzzy82's topic in General Dog Discussion
Dunno what you mean about control, but I can tell you that you only need to buckle two straps around the midsection, not three I've found that particular handle on the Ruffwear very useful, especially when you need to help your dog up into a car etc, so it gives full body support when you pull on it. -
I vote for Corgi too, or maybe even a Swedish Vallhund? :D

Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Harness Like This?
Dju replied to fuzzy82's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ruffwear web master harnesses are about the best harnesses I've come across. Doesn't cut into the fur, padding everywhere, y-front and a handle built into the top. Only thing it doesn't have is the d-ring at the front. Cheapest place you'll find it (including shipping) is Arcata Pet. http://www.arcatapet.com/ -
No worries, I'm glad they turned out nice :D

I buy Valuheart from http://www.petproductsontheweb.com.au/

Awesome. Just send me a text message when you're on your way :D

LMAO. Yeah I was thinking about it this morning.I have to go shopping this arvo, so I might do it tomorrow afternoon?? Sure, just don't forget LOL! You have my phone number, don't you?

Hey make sure that you don't forget to pick up the stencils! :p

My list of wanted breeds used to be huge when I first came to DOL. Now it only has one breed on it--the Swedish Vallhund They have stolen my heart and cannot be replaced by any other breed! Maybe a Swedish Elkhound, if anyone decides to import.

I dunno, he's pretty stubborn, he'd probably be keeping far away from Phoenix I tried to tell him about the friendliest staffy ever living at the bottom of the street who snorts and huffs and puffs when she's getting bellyrubs from me and he was like .. "She could always turn one day and bite you, it's happened lots of times, don't you read the news?"

I was going to say Ridgeback x something and "IYKWIM", but I thought saying "IYKWIM" would result in dirty looks if I got it wrong. I hope my boyfriend doesn't come to the walk then--he believes all the hype about bull breeds and we've had many an argument about it!
-
Ahh, okay! By the way, what breed are they? I would hazard a guess but some people find it rude when you get it wrong, and I would probably.. get it wrong, lol
-
Which one is the older, Phoenix or Keira? :p I can't tell, they both look like puppies in your signature! And yay for the shirts arriving! Just need stencils now.

So I notice that some people here have a couple dogs, are you guys taking both your dogs or is only one going to attend the walk? :D
