Oookay, I think we might have a problem with Hugo liking the food too much. I poured some in his bowl, he wolfed it down in ten seconds flat and started shoving his bowl at me again. Poured some more in, and the same thing happened. He's not getting full So now I've poured a couple of cups into the Bob-A-Lot and he's been knocking it around for the last half hour :p Are there some sort of crazy addictive dog drugs in BH?? (Kidding btw)

The deposit is $1500?

Smells great doesn't it!? My feline had the major runs today from the BH Poor girl. So I have her back on Nutro. Just got a huge sample pack delivered Hugo seems willing to pop them like treats so I'm quite happy! But I have to be honest, it smells very similar to Nutro for me.

There are some people of the opinion that antibodies for dogs should be no different than humans and dogs don't need booster vaccinations at all (other than the initial puppy ones).

Have you tried putting his food in a Kong Wobbler or a Bob-A-Lot? I can't say anything about the slow feeder bowls but I know that it literally takes Hugo half an hour to eat his food when I put it in his bob-a-lot.

This is what my breeder told me as well Wait a bit for the second vacc to take effect and the third one isn't needed at all. And he's right about dry food diets--it may sound boring for the owner, but... what Aussielover said (won't repeat for brevity's sake) :p

Why do people keep calling Astro by the name Atlas? Anyways, I'm not a professional trainer or anything like that, but I'm surprised that people were so quick to suggest a rehoming for Harper the Poodle puppy who was crying too much and yet a lot of people are suggesting sticking with and more training with this DA dog. She's attacking other dogs in public, she's attacking the dog she's living with, and as dancinbcs says, there are so many staffies with great temperaments being euth'd every week. What's worse is from your post, it sounds like she's "corrupting" the good dog, and there's a chance that training might prove futile and leave a sad ending for both dogs. I would give Missy her wings, personally

Little post here, snapped up some cute photos today. The day started very early in the morning at around 6am. It started with a fly. He had caught it some time earlier and was playing with his food (the little munchkin). This continued for a few minutes until he got bored and finally ate it. I suggested to him that he not, but he ignored me and did it anyways. He totally spoiled his breakfast. Anyways! After missing his breakfast, our relatives came over, one of them bearing gifts for the Hugo monster. And what a gift it was! A giant bone, all for Hugo's eating pleasure. Well, if he could make the situation with Hugo being disinterested in his breakfast any worse, that's what he did! Hugo said it was the most delicious bone he'd ever eaten. He chewed.. And he chewed.. Until he got tired. But he still attempted to chew. And then my little Diva started getting camera shy, so that was the end of photos!

I hear people are having lots of success with the Laucke Mills range, and they're 100% Australian. http://www.lauckemills.com.au/dogfood.html

Ugh, I totally agree. A few weeks ago I saw a kid of about 11 years of age walking some sort of oodle (Labrador x Poodle most likely due to how big it was) by himself, and he wasn't even paying attention to what he was doing, he was dawdling and kicking rocks on the path like walking the dog was some sort of chore for him. The dog is pulling the kid along quite enough as it is but when the dog sees my dog, he yanks forwards eagerly, snaps the boy out of his stupor to make him trip up, and in the boy's anger at tripping, he kicks the dog in the ribs! I yelled at the boy for that, I just couldn't stop myself! His parents should be the ones supervising him and yelling at him for that, not me!

Dunno about books about Paps in particular but I know the best place to find books is Booko.com.au.

Sounds absolutely great then Hugo needs a large breed food because of the density of his bones or something something (I forgot the details ) and if it won't harm his growth, we might be switching to BH :D Can anyone tell me an estimate of how much BH costs? We're feeding Nutro at the moment, but at $115 for 15 KG and Hugo going through a bag every two-three months, we're going broke, so we can't afford much more than $100 per 15kg!
-
I've been eyeing this thread quite a bit and I'm kind of curious to try BH myself (for Hugo.. not for myself lol). I was wondering though, is it okay to feed Black Hawk to dogs that require large breed dog food?

Hugo doesn't even know that televisions exist as far as he's concerned. Even if there's dogs on the screen and they're barking etc, absolutely no response, doesn't notice the moving pictures in the box. Is there something in the genetics that determines whether a dog is able to "watch" tv or not?

we buy our ValueHeart from Australian Pet Treat Company. They are the cheapest I have found so far, and also sell Comfortis. They look good! Comfortis is cheaper at the site I use, but the Valuheart is considerably cheaper at your site. Do they have free shipping too? :D

is there ivermectin in either of these products? I have to be careful - I have a breed that can be sensitive. Currently use Revolution here. Recommended as best for my breed and for a bitch I will be mating in a month or so. Not that cheap though. Yeah they do. The only heartwormer I know that doesn't have ivermectin is Proheart, but best you do your own research on heartworming meds that are suitable for your breed, I'm no vet

Don't The Rules Apply To You Or Something?

I didn't say they weren't. What is wrong with saying that they were little white fluffy things? They are white, fluffy and as I have no idea what mix they are I said things. I didnt call them nasty or ugly. All of which is beside the point as I dont call them that to the owners face, that was a decription I used here. P.S. I own small red things, I dont get offended if someone called them that. Even though they may be a mix, they are still dogs, not things and it's good to see that you don't call them by that description to their owner's faces. I think you're being a bit too sensitive about the off-the-cuff comment Che gave. My dad sometimes calls his wife "Pretty young thing", but it doesn't mean he's objectifying her. Anyways, that's -

I went into a Woolworths with Hugo when he was a puppy because I'd forgotten that I needed to buy something and I asked the guys at the help/cigarettes desk whether they could get the product for me so I don't have to wander into the store. Funny thing is, because Hugo was in his harness and all, they thought he was a guide dog and even said they wouldn't have stopped me from going in to do the shopping with him. -
The web address (.com.au) signifies that they're an Aussie website Shipping is free too, which is what I love about it too. No nasty surprises during the checkout process! XD

I've conversed with them through email about the breed and the possibility of one day owning a Macklin puppy in the future

I recommend.. http://www.macklinshepherds.com/ They have nice straight-backed GSDs and by the looks of it, a majority of their dogs are black too.

This place is by far the cheapest you'll find stuff like flea protection and heartworm protection etc etc. This is where I buy my stuff, but I'm also looking into Trixanpet.com.au since five minutes ago because they have a price match guarantee so that could be fun.

Friend of mine's dog had a macadamia nut stuck in the intestines--I think she said the vets bill was $3000! Though to be fair, they didn't realise it was a blockage until a day or so later.
-
I buy Valuheart, which is the generic equivalent of Heartgard, only you save more than half of the cost. As for fleas, I use Advantix but it doesn't seem to be working anymore so I'll have to change soon.

Ah, terrierman had an awesome blog, I learned so much through him.I don't really like reading dog blogs unless they're educational or something--more often than not, the appalling web design on dog blogs or dog-related sites in general (like breeder websites) makes me horrified and I have to leave before I start screaming. That's just me though.
