Little hard to answer due to the secrecy surrounding these products but I believe that the product that had the wheat first is from a company called True Blue, who might be in NSW. So from a different company but still in a plain white bag. Could someone please tell me what does holistic mean in dog food

Holistic Lamb Rice Kibble From Petline
G.G replied to aj2251's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
May l ask whats so holistic about this kibble -
why are they selling the remainder of salmon GG...this is some of the first email I received I started my puppy on it about 6 weeks ago. I first bought a small bag to see if he liked it. He LOVED it, was the first kibble that he actually got excited about. Anyway I bought a 13.6kg bag next, but I have only used a couple of cup fulls of it as I'm not using it at the moment, as my dog has recently been put on an elimination diet, to see what's causing his itchies. He has had this problem since we got him at 8 weeks. So hopefully it won't take long to work out. Anyway, I'm not sure how long he it will be until I can start using it again. The best before date isn't until april 2011, but worried I won't use it all by then, if this elimination things goes on for a long time. They go on to say they have a ...Mini Schnauzer Mini Poodle Mix. Such a sweet little guy, just a very itchy one. I'm still not convienced it isn't a case of Dry Seborrea (doggy dandruff), as he had dry itchy skin when we got him, and I would have thought if it was food related it would have started much later than 8 weeks, anyway I'm not the expert so doing the elimination thing to rule out food I guess. Anyway time will tell I guess. Perhaps they should try the Ernie calendula rinse, if it works on Westiemum's little Westie there is a good chance it would help this dog. Thanks Boronia but l would feel better if l bought a new bag of salmon which l will be doing tomorrow if my dogs like the salmon as they do the ALS Grain Free it will be a bonus two dry food to choose from

If they run testing every 20 min why does it get bagged and shipped all over the world and then do a recall after many days doesnt make sence to me Not many companys have had two recalls in such a short time frame. I don't know. I don't work for Euk. Maybe the tests they do take days to show up certain things, by which time they've already bagged it. No recalls for a food company are good, but this was a voluntary one not because it was going to poison dogs. They apparently got one positive for Salmonella so decided to recall. I'm just trying to say that another food companies might not even be testing for this, or not as often, so possibly have been sold with the same problem, but because we don't know about it, it doesn't affect us. This company did the test and got a positive so recalled. stormie l was wondering why u dont think this recall is serious if its not serious they would not do it you state you dont work for euk but you promote euk and sell euk makes sence now

I would go with that "feeling", go to consumer affairs.com to see what american consumers think of this food, there is a class action law suit in progress. Willis l did go to consumer affairs.com about 5 weeks ago about dog food and l am amazed how many complaintes there is on every dog food company not just one. Im not convinced l got anything out of it.
