Hoping you got some answers swazzie and are ok.

That's horrible swazzie, I hope you can find a decent alternative not too far away. I know every case will be different but just to let you know when we took Issy to the first appointment they decided to do a number of tests there and then - so ultrasound, some bloods and a few other bits and pieces so altogether we were there for a few hours - around 4 I think. We did have the choice to leave and come back, but Issy was quite stressed and they let us take her out to a small grassed area in between tests she was calmer with us there. I guess my point is to bear in mind it might be a while so you can prepare. There is a shopping centre just down the road for you to grab a coffee or take a break, but I would maybe take a drink with you and a book or other distraction?

They are both so beautiful, thanks for sharing the photos.

So pleased you got in, will be thinking of you tomorrow and hope you get some answers .

DDD that would be Dr. Susan Dawson at Anvet Kedron, she uses both QVS at Stafford and BVSC for specialist referrals. So likely she would refer on for something like this - she is fabulous, my twin's dogs and Canetoad's Jonah are/Were also customers! I am suggesting BVSC because I had such a good experience with all the Oncologists, and they have everything on site - x-ray/MRI/Ultrasound and what I think is the only Linac Accelerator in the country for animal use - hoping someone else will chime in to confirm or offer options. I liked the fact they saw us so fast, were super clear on what options we had, likely outcomes, they were easy to talk to and not dismissive of my questions about herbal/ natural support through treatment. They could do all the staging and necessary tests right there. They were extremely kind to Issy and to us and the follow up has been very good. Edited for typos. Probably more.

The specialists saw us the day we got the referral, I understand the shock, I was at work when I got the call and just started to cry at my desk. It is a terrible feeling, but at least you know that here there are lots of people who have been through a similar experience, and have similar connections with their dogs. Whilst they may not exactly be in your shoes, they will be here with an empathetic and sympathetic ear when you need them. Hopefully you will get a quick referral and be able to make a plan.

Swazzie, so very sorry to read this - there are fabulous Oncologists at BVSC at Albany Creek. They have a surgical, medical and radiation team. They are truly lovely and it would be worth speaking to them. They treated our girl for a different type of cancer earlier this year.

How scary, hope you are both ok Persephone . Has he cuts or is it all just bruising and rubbing from being stuck? Hope the rest of the weekend is uneventful!

Issy will start her final week of radiation next week, her carpal pad has started to slough off and she has a visible lesion from the burn now. She is 15 doses into an 18 dose protocol, she has just started this week on meloxicam and prophylactic antibiotics. We have some silver burn cream to come as well. I was surprised at how long it took for the burn to appear but apparently it will get worse after the final dose. Other than the burn she has tolerated the treatment pretty well, the part that I was worried about, the anaesthetics don't seem to have bothered her much up to this point. Just a waiting game now to see if it has had the desired effect,

Thinking of you and Boof Anne, hope he is going ok today.

He is such a love. First time I dared venture in today, but wanted to add our best wishes for you both here too. I recognise the Little Gifts jumper, they were so beautiful and snuggly. Please give Mac a gentle pat for us.

I liked her page too, what a great gesture to those grieving owners.
