  1. How terrible for you all kirty, so pleased they are all recovering. Hope you and the kids are ok too, it would have been very traumatic for you. Sending healing vibes to Pudding.
  2. I only just saw this too Swazzie. I am so sorry you lost Bru so fast, hoping you are going ok.
  3. The fact that he didn't have the surgery was nothing to do with money, Canetoad flew him to Brisbane and he saw two orthopaedic surgeons, both said no surgery. It might well have been worth it for your boy but it wasn't what was best for Jonah. He has a great quality of life.
  4. Another vote for comfort flex from Clean Run here - I ordered some about eight days ago and they arrived today, four collars, two 1.5 metre leads and postage for around 100 dollars. The leads are super soft on the hands but very strong hardware and stitching. I have some comfort flex collars that are 3 years old and still going strong, just a bit faded from lots of swimming and washing.
  5. Snook, I don't have much first hand experience of this having only briefly encountered SA in some rescues ; but I wanted to say what an amazing owner I think you are, I have watched your posts of your journey with Justice in awe of your patience, persistence and your love for your boy. I hope the meds kick in and you don't have to make that call after the lengths you have gone to to help him, he is so lucky to have you.
  6. Happy Belated Birthday gorgeous Mac, so sorry I missed your big day. I haven't been about this week, I hope you had a blue cheese fiesta x.????????????
  7. Another belated Happy Birthday Neko. She is so beautiful Kirislin.
  8. Lovely photo of the handsome man x
  9. Just popping in for a quick Mac check, and of course to send love to Mac and the other DoL oldies.
  10. I am enjoying it too - but like others didn't have anything useful to add. Thanks for sharing your journey, don't stop.
  11. Issy would definitely kill them deliberately, Alfie would most likely accidentally kill them by squashing them whilst protecting them from Issy. Same out come - dead chickens. But my dogs are utterly ruined as far as indoor/outdoor goes, and would be completely horrified at being left in the back yard anyway. I don't think a place is truly dog friendly if the dogs are not allowed in.
  12. Very sorry to read this and paws crossed for a better night tonight. How scary for you both.
  13. How lovely, looking forward to the photos!
  14. Thanks, I will go and look now, I have an eBay account so should be able to find it, do you happen to know the seller's name? Hope you are well - I haven't been up there for a bit - should be back in a couple of weeks once my new knee is strong enough
  15. Pooh has been loaded onto the phone for future reference while Op Shopping. Thank you so much for the offer of Tigger. Unfortunately, Baylee passed away at the end of 2013, so we don't require a new Tigger anymore. Sorry Grumpette I knew she had passed, I didn't realise she was the only one who played with it. I hope it didn't upset you.
  16. Okay, to those kind people who said they would Pooh hunt, here is the Pooh Bear, he is about a foot tall in old money or I am guessing nearly 14 centimetres? He is not as orange as a lot of Pooh's h is more of a yellow tan kind of colour, and has dark brown plush nose, eyes and brows. He doesn't have button eyes they are stitched. He has no seeds beans in him just stuffing. (I have seen the inside LOL). Oh he also has a very rounded tummy. Grumpette, I have a soft floppy Tigger that is just a bit bigger than Pooh, it is not identical to yours, but very similar and I am happy to send it if you think it would do? I will post a picture in a minute.
  17. Thanks so much both of you - I will take a picture of him tomorrow and post it. All the op shops around me are out of stock but there are a couple who are on the lookout. She has had loads of them and had four of them at once at one time, but one got lost when she took it to the specialist hospital, we think she dropped one out of the car at Nudgee Beach, another got chomped (definitely not on purpose)! So she is on lucky last. I have no idea what is so compelling about this particular model but no other Pooh will do!
  18. Coogie, there is one for sale on the home page. Maybe it is the right kind? http://www.dogzonlin...rsale.asp?cat=3 Thank You so much,Kamuzz, sadly it is not the same Pooh, Mum is scouring op shops!
  19. So, so sorry to see this swazzie, like everyone else I was hoping it would be something else. I hope you have some great days with him.
  20. blinkblink and grumpette you are killing me with cute. Such gorgeous, gorgeous dogs, even if they are tortured souls. LOL. Edited because auto infuriate keeps calling grumpette, grumped.
  21. Depends who you see. I spent over $7000 simply on tests ( over three visits ) and the specialist i was dealing with was away the week my boys condition went downhill. I took him back there to be checked by another specialist, but he couldn't be saved. I never even received a phone call from the specialist i was dealing with for the previous three visits. Obviously when he returned and was updated, he simply moved onto his next patient. No compassion that's for sure. The local vet however was fantastic. I received a nice phone message and a very nice card from her and the whole team. That's terrible RL1, we have been lucky in that they have all been great, in fact we ended up there ourselves on Friday out of the blue - woke to find a lump on the back of Issy's neck, called them and had a return call in 10 minutes to say bring her over at noon, they were booked out - but her Oncologist gave up his lunch break so he could do a fine needle aspirate on the lump for us - so we did not have to stress all weekend. Luckily it was a reaction to a jab they had given her not another tumour. I am sorry you did not get the same kind of service, it must have been very upsetting, it is the worst time anyway when they are sick. I hope I never strike the person you saw there, I am usually not far from hysteria as it is when we go, the dog is very stressed and it puts me on edge. Swazzie - will be thinking of you tomorrow and all fingers and paws are crossed here that you get clear results and a good outcome for Bru.
  22. That's sounding more positive, really pleased for you, hope you get some sleep and have a nice weekend with your boy.
  23. LOL! Love this thread. Issy - has to surrender her Pooh Bear for washing and sits staring at the washing machine and then back at you, as if you are the worst kind of murderer who is drowning Pooh Bear. ( Previously there were multiple Pooh Bears and they were surreptitiously rotated. This is the last one, I am on a frantic Pooh search for her specific Pooh model, other Poohs have been soundly rejected). Alf - has to vacate his armchair so it can be vacuumed, and is forced to temporarily lie on a memory foam sheepskin covered bed.
