  1. Pleased to hear he has no obstruction, hope he is home with you soon two doggies. Could anyone else in the household be giving him sneaky treats? I have to watch OH more closely than the dogs!
  2. I can hear the voice, but only with noise cancelling ear phones - could that be the TV though? (I hope so) It's very creepy.
  3. Everything crossed for you and Jed. Hoping he pulls through.
  4. I don't have anything useful to add, just wanted to say I hope it goes really well tomorrow and in the coming days, thinking of your and your pup and sending good wishes.
  5. Orange is in the local Quest Paper, there is still no news, please keep looking and sharing. Orange
  6. He looks great Tralee, so pleased he is finally well, I've followed him quietly through your threads. I bet you will miss him.
  7. Still sharing on Facebook and took the flyer to work. I hope you get some good news soon.
  8. P.s. not a prude or into censorship just worried my lovely lunch will come back up.
  9. Really didn't need to see that .... ! Can't the picture just be linked or at least a hint put in regarding content was expecting a dog in a frock/ pram/ at the table etc but that is just revolting. Poor Pug, and poor kids as well, must be lovely to have to go to school the day after that appears in a National Mag. ( if it's not in fact a hoax) There is no cure for stupid.
  10. Pleased to see this Hardy's Angel, we are still monitoring Alfie's toe and clipping the nail very short so no surgery yet,it's very reassuring to read this as I'm sure we will need to do it at some point. Glad he is ok. Editing to say I have just realised I was discussing Alfie's toe in a different thread! Sorry - post about "still monitoring" makes no sense here - still pleased to hear he is ok though - I had been watching here to see if there was an update so thanks.
  11. Kroll Gardens is great - but it does get quite busy on weekends etc - it is HUGE, so there is plenty of space although everyone seems to gather nearest the water and toilet block. The undercover area is pretty small and open sided so no good in the rain. There is a good agility course. We usually go a bit further down the park as if there is ever trouble ( very rare but have seen the odd scuffle), it is usually up in the busy area. There is plenty of shade further down and some nice benches etc. I would just take a couple of water bowls with you and go a bit further into the park. There is a fenced off pond/lake but snakes have been seen in the water and although there are people who open the gate and let their dogs jump in (despite warnings) I would never let my two in there. The separate small dog enclosure is currently closed as Moreton Council are lopping some of the trees along the back perimeter fence. There is an Airedale called Harry who is a regular, in addition to the Shar Pei Picnic I have seen Bulldogs, Great Danes and Huskies all have get togethers there. I would say peak times are around 8-9am from 3.30pm onwards in the afternoons in case you want to avoid those times. Sweeney's Reserve at Petrie is another good dog park but I would check with the council to see if the fences are repaired - they were destroyed in the floods. Three sides are (usually) fenced and the fourth side is bordered by the river so the dogs can swim there. It also used to have toilets, bbq's etc but again not too sure how far the rebuilding has got.
  12. So sorry. RIP Panda. Beautiful words for a beautiful boy.
  13. That's great Staffyluv, I agree the sharkies are vile -make me retch too but they way the dogs go mad for them I would say they are a huge reward!
  14. I emailed them and they ship to Australia but said it is quite expensive - I have asked for some shipping prices - will update if they send some figures and anyone is interested. They were very nice and very speedy response. Krislin you are officially an enabler :D
  15. Thanks Krislin, (although I am sure my bank account won't thank you later)! Some of the sculptures are stunning, it's really hard to find any Shar Pei stuff that isn't incredibly naff.
  16. Poochmad if your husband is worried about the security of the house is there any reason you can't kennel the dogs AND get a house sitter for the house? That way he would be happy the house was safe and you could relax knowing the dogs were also safe. I can understand wanting to make sure the house is secure and on the face of it it seems crazy not to leave the dogs at home if someone is there but I could not relax on holiday unless I knew the dogs were safely kennelled, I have some lovely friends who would gladly house sit here but the dogs have pretty specific needs and although I don't think they would ignore instructions necessarily I would be too paranoid something would go wrong - we are lucky to have a great, trustworthy kennel nearby.
  17. We have been using it for about five or six months now with no issues, we switched as our dogs have skin problems. They have both been less itchy although Summer will be the real test. The vet still recommended six monthly tapeworm treatment though. It is also cheaper on the internet than at most vets. We are very happy with it.
  18. So pleased she is home, and that you have shared. Gives a bit of hope to those who still have no news of missing dogs months down the track.
  19. I have two and would love another one or two, sadly our local Council disagree so we are limited until we move.I have tried several times to explain to the Council that the only extra square meterage I need to add another is an additional couch but they don't seem to understand this line of persuasion. **sighs**
  20. Hope this helps a little bit MsDani, hope you are doing ok.
  21. Sounds like a lovely friend Ms Dani, glad you are able to spend time with your girl and you feel a tiny bit more able to cope. Hugs to you both.
  22. Thinking of you today Ms Dani, it's hard to give advice because everyone grieves differently and goes through the different stages at different times. I found the next day the hardest,I am guessing it's because I was no longer totally focussed on my boy and the decision so there was time for all the "what ifs" and regrets to creep in. I still "see" Toby's last day but with the perspective of time and having worked through the grieving process I see it in a very different light to the days following, and have come to accept it was the only option and a kindness for him. I can think of the good times now and focus on them. I was very lucky as at the time I had people near who understood so never had to hide my grief. When you can face it (and if you think it would help) have a look at the Pet Loss site, there are a number of articles that might help in some way, including the following on guilt. Breaking the Power of Guilt Take care.
