  1. I use Evo, my dogs love it and they are so healthy we have tried heaps of foods but this is the only one that maintains their condition. When you have 4 BC's keeping them looking their best and as active as possible is hard without the best nutrition. Evo is expensive but I feed less and I also tend to use the Evo small bites as training treats and it works so well. Good Luck with Grain Free!! :)
  2. Just relax, they are there to guide you into what to do or not to do. The first time will just be a play around to see if your girl has any interest and sometimes that can take a few session but you might be surprised she could be very switched on. Good Luck!!
  3. My dogs and cats LOVE Black Hawk. Adult version I would go for the Great Dane "Pheebs" as it has slightly better ingredients then the puppy. Hope this helps.
  4. The best advice I was given with higher protein was not to feed it to young pups as it will make them grow quicker which will then cause their joints to be out of whack when older. And for a Lab or Border Collie we don't need any extra help in regards to failing hips etc. I feed Black Hawk and not the puppy version just the normal adult for both adult and pups. If I can't get a hold of it they will get Pro Plan Performance which is suitable for all life stages. Hope this helps.
  5. Benshiva This is heartbreaking to read. My thoughts are with you all and once having a heart dog and seeing her leave way too soon means I understand what you are all going through. Gone but will never be forgotten. Cherish the years you had, make a scrapbook to help share his precious soul to everyone. He is running free at Rainbow Bridge with my Reba and many many other cherished friends and family members. Take care and hugs to you all and may. xo
  6. I certainly hope you're not talking about a VERY good friend of mine who wears (or used to wear) green suits and wins VERY consistently. You know why she wins, her dogs are freaking FANTASTIC examples of the breed. She is not an all breeds judge, so nobody owes her anything Just putting it out there in case it is my friend that this was aimed at I agree with Benshiva. For me it doesn't matter what you look like or wear or even your name it really does go based on your dog. And this is my own experience showing a red BC I knew I wasn't going to have any luck not based on the colour of the dog or what I looked like it was based on my dogs conformation and structure. She didn't make the grade and I always presented well. There seems to be a lot of discussion on biased judges but they wouldn't be asked back to judge if they were that way inclined. Just my opinion and I'm not that experienced with breed showing.
  7. JulesP, Very sorry to hear Amber is so unwell. It's extremely hard having a loved family member being unwell and there is nothing you can do but sit back and watch. Ivy still isn't out of the woods as she goes in and out of energy and she has been diagnosed with a serious Bowel Disease and also has moments where she is that down and out I think she is giving up on me. Not long ago I managed to get her to a trial we did very well but she could only perform in the morning as she just about collapses in the afternoon, I wont push her and now just try and let her be happy and love her for all the issues she is. Our Vet misdiagnosed her which wasted so much time but I do understand where you are coming from and your never really out of the woods until the next problem comes along. This week is her down week where she can't keep food down or it just runs out. But I do keep saying she is ok even tho I know she isn't I need to keep that hope up. Hugs to you JulesP.
