Sounds like Nova is going to be a superstar! I wouldn't be concentrating too hard on teaching an out command. If you work on this too much with puppies that are still learning to tug it can cause them to have a weaker grip and less devotion to the tug if that makes sense. I am just concentrating on getting Envy very interested in tugging and holding on before I teach the out. Just a tip I picked up from Michael Ellis videos :) I think it depends on your approach to training tug. The out should be one of the most motivating commands for the dog. I always train an out from day one as its part of the game and I definitely don't have any problems with grip or 'devotion' lol. Just my two cents! ETA: I can't remember, did I tell you Envy and Wisdom are related?! :D Re the off switch my Mal has one, she even sleeps on my bed every night! I think it's less about the off switch and more about whether you can live with them when they are on lol. I do train the out as a motivating command as well. But the dog has to have enough motivation for the tug first is all. If Envy is only just starting to have fun with the tug and I start too early teaching her to let go, then I could undo some of that work on building her motivation for it. I found a couple of spots in the Ellis DVDs where he is talking about it and the way he puts it is that if the puppy is outing very easily, do it less. If its difficult, do it more. All depends on the dog. Sounds like Nova already has an awesome drive and grip for the tug so I would teach it straight away to that puppy. No, you didn't tell me they are related! It doesn't really surprise me though. Is Wisdom out of Lilo? The malinois world is so small. I know (over the net) the owners of her grandmother Lilo, her father Tex, her Aunt Talina.... Probably some more I have forgotten too. -

Woohoo! Looks great on! How does it fit him? I am so happy as I think this is the first enabling I have done on DOL haha She is from Vanrusselhof Malinois from the working line K2 litter. Father is Nordenstamm Tex BH (IID) and mother is Aust CH Ellis de l'origine de faucon rouge IPO3 AD-Prüfung DMC-WP (Imp GMY) See the litter here, she is Vanrusselhof Kunoichi, the violet puppy http://www.malinois.net.au/k2litter.html Kunoichi is a female ninja :D -
If you are only doing a C3 and it's a protech then you only need two. It also depends on the individual dog, what kind of breeder it came from and the mother's vaccination status. So good breeders lower your chances of your puppy being vulnerable to those diseases. If you want a C5 then the C5 part has to be done twice to have effect. I would have only stuck to a C3 as Envy had it at 6 weeks. So I would have only needed one more. But I want to get her used to boarding kennels so she needs a C5. So we had to get two more vaccinations as the C5 needs to be done twice. Depending on how often she needs to go to kennels etc will decide whether we get boosters or not. I would prefer to only do one booster at one year old and be done with it, then titre test.

I think Willow is just divine too! Love the rotties. and I love that name. A friend has a malamute named Wilow. A well bred & raised malinois will have an off switch too.......... sometimes.... No, they do :) -

I'm looking through them now. I am pretty sure it's "The Power of Playing Tug With Your Dog" With Michael Ellis from Leerburg. I'm just flicking through it now and getting some good tips so thanks for making me look LOL. Whether that section is in this DVD or not, I still highly recommend it! Out of my collection it would make the most sense for that part to be in this DVD though. -

I'm trying to find that DVD to watch that part again. I'm sure it's good to teach the out early on so that you don't get a dog that is too possessive - just as long as you have the grip and enthusiasm you are after first :) -

Hi Lisa, It fits her very well. Nice and snug but plenty of room to adjust and doesn't seem to rub too much under the arm pits. I didn't specifically buy it for her. Luckily I have a puppy sized adult dog in Lola so I am using some of her gear on Envy until Envy is bigger. I like the Ezy Dog stuff and I am picky with quality. Depends a lot on the dog though. I think it fits Envy better than it fits Lola. -

She is so confident and gets more awesome every day. I just love her :D (even though she has no decent bladder control yet) She is settling in now and getting more comfortable (being more naughty) had full on zoomies last night around the house and was running back into the room and crashing onto my lap slamming into me with full force, trying to bite me then off again! -

Oh no! Times like these we wish we had surveillance cameras on to know what really happened. We have found a couple of dead birds in the yard on separate occasions with our 2 adult dogs. Pretty sure we know it was Lola though! -
Mac is beautiful. Thanks for sharing :)

Depends - are both vacs a C5 or only a C3? Do you want C5 cover or only C3? If you get them twice and they are both the same then you should be covered. It also depends on the brand. Protech is what my Vet recommended when discussing this recently. The maternal antibodies may cancel out the vacc.
