  1. I live close by so will keep an eye out. Hope you find him soon
  2. Well Done! I really hope the messages start to get out there Grrrr I hate pet shops
  3. Seriously if the judge believes that load of hoo haa then I have no faith in the legal system. Not that I did much anyway but this would just make it worse. What a poor excuse for not only bashing but killing your dog!! So can people who perform armed robberies use that excuse too? Had a stressful day I owe money on the mortgage?? How many people deal with stress? and you know what? the best thing to come home to is my pup at the end of a stressful day so I don't believe he even cared for that dog for a second. And yes, as much as your dog might annoy you sometimes, you would never go to that extent of hurting them at all! What a scumbag
  4. If your going to get a dog there is a small guarantee it will dig. If you cannot cope with that don't get a dog, what an AH for punishing the dog like that. Rip poor Imi
  5. Thank you will let some friends know in the area Think most people will need to keep an eye out for this stuff now, might get some dog hating "copycats"
  6. I love that! Tahli and I have built a strong relationship, she is so well behaved around me now and something has "clicked" like you say, it's all these little things you notice that is different from before. I know exactly what you mean. I think it happens once you have completely established yourself as the leader
  7. Obviously trying to get her out of it, or more try calm the rest of the world down by faking a "rescue" No way I'd believe that
  8. I think dogs should have off lead time definitely but in a contained area of dogs you know only - not in public places where any type of dog can come and go - too much risk for my liking. I know you cannot always avoid these situations but I'd just feel better about it. The man didn't do anything wrong simply walking his dog on a lead, for another dog to be off lead and bounce up I can see why it would cause an attack. It's nice to see when other people have really good control of their dogs, in the pet barn the other day we were in there with Tahli and this guy came in with his lab, off leash, ours on leash. The most well behaved obedient dog I have ever seen and they had a play while we chatted, but this dog did everything he asked and it was just so comfortable and relaxed which is how I prefer it.
  9. To me, the world is so far from compassionate it doesn't surprise me anymore, by that I mean all things, wars, animal extinction, animal cruelty, environmental issues.. cant help but to feel helpless. Sorry stories like this put me in these moods
  10. Poor Dogs Only doing what they were taught to do
  11. How scary ;) Hope you are all a bit settled after an experience like that, I hate the feeling when you cannot do anything to help. Stay strong
  12. Gee, councils really know how to change their tunes How does this not now confuse people with the new laws? No one is going to know what's going on or one council will differ from the other etc.
  13. I disagree with the new laws. Doesn't mention anything about a temperament test! This is for a dog that has no collar and no chip. Don't forget, collars fall off, can be taken off by other people, and chips can get missed. "Clause 23 inserts new sections into the Act that allow for Councils to destroy a dog that is not registered and the owner is not identifiable, that is at large and that is reasonably believed to have caused or is likely to cause an offence under section 29 (attacking or biting a person or animal, or rushing at or chasing any person). If all of these preconditions are met, Councils may destroy the dog no sooner than 48 hours after a record is made by an authorised officer." So, from what I gather from the above quote, if the council thinks the dog may attack or rush at a person or animal if it were lose, then they can to destroy it within 48hours. Keep in mind, to get to this point, they would already have the dog in custody. Why can't they just keep it for the 8 days. It can't do any harm if it is already locked up! Too many ifs, thinks and mays for my liking! So, what IF the chip is missed when the dog is scanned. That's right, of course councils will never explain the "IF's" I hear too many times from people their dog got out and was microchipped and had been at the council pound the whole time and sometimes, they didn't even have the info in the system yet! I really hope this blows up in their face. They really think they know whats best for the country.
  14. +1 I'd get banned too. It's just sick. If someone else put this up on youtube then they should be able to trace it, but if it's not taken seriously then there is no point.
  15. Very hard to handle loss of loved dogs I still imagine they are around and think about the good times. Now I have beautiful Tahli and cannot wait to give her a bigggggggg cuddle when I get home miss her so much already!
  16. So sorry Elfin, how terrible!! Poor things..I Hope Bernard will be ok and recover I hope the council do further investigating on this, it's unfair for you to chase this all up you have anough to worry about.
  17. I agree.. I can't see how it could be random? Hope Coco recovers well
  18. Absolutely disgusting I don't care who your are or how old you are they need to be punished severley for that.
  19. I know some people may dislike cats that much but sometimes I think sicko's out there do it because they can get away with it (as in go to this extreme of severing a cat), if that's not psycho then I don't know what is.
  20. Go with your heart, Rotties all the way! I grew up with Rotties and they were the most loyal sweet dogs I have ever had. I believe they are suited to families but it does also depend on training of course, but I cannot think of any other dog so loyal and obedient. Cant say I know what Bull Mastiff is like but perhaps try another breed?
  21. Tahli will do the same if I tell her she can't come up on the lounge or something (only allowed when she is calm) but if she is excited she protests but then moves on just have to follow through and not give in. She didn't do this straight away so maybe testing the boundaries.
  22. this woman obviously doesn't give them the time of day hence getting out.. if someone had my dog I'd be so thankful and there in 2 minutes flat. DVD or no DVD. Pathetic excuse. They should do something about repeat offenders.
  23. too many ppl scammed on this - Cameroon Pet Animal Export Scam
  24. I agree, try not to let cats out too much especially that age. Learnt my lesson when my cat Sebastian got shot 5 times by a pellet gun - he lived just had to remove the pellets. To me, there seems to be much more cat abuse going on in the suburbs lately.
