All I can say is don't use Greencross Vets. Terribly expensive. I went to Sunnybank Vet Hospital for Kyojin (2 weeks ago) We were quoted $161/162 for him. They don't charge male dogs by weight, it's just a flat fee. Greencross wanted $380 for him. As he had only one descended testicle, the vet had to go digging for the other one, and so we had to pay the price of a bitch spay. All up SVH cost us $225 which was the price of a spay for a 35kg dog.

I'm keen to give them all a go, we can work our way through them. (And find some northside parks as well). I still like the idea of Colmslie as I'd be going for the park and not the water anyway. But they all sound good, so it's good to have a list of some options where we can try a new one each time maybe.

We had week two of our LLW class on Wednesday first. First class was all theory, so the dogs stayed at home. I was so impressed with how Kyojin went. We've got a different trainer for this class, the lady that owns the company. She commented on how focused Kyojin was which made me pretty happy It's actually a really interesting class. I was really only doing it as Wednesday nights are the only nights we can really do training, and it was the only option available. But turns out there's a lot more to it then just walking our dogs around for an hour each week

I'll bring mine too. Not that it's anything special, just a basic point and shoot.

It looks fairly crowded in the photos on the website, but it's hard to tell if it's like that everywhere there.

I think anyone can start their own thread (and then continue to post in their own thread) but only breeders can reply.

I know, I normally avoid it too. I made the mistake of going into it after I saw people getting narky on their nail cutting thread.

I think OH wants to get there pretty early. Which is probably a good idea for trying to get a car park. We'll probably get there in time for opening, and then at 10.30 head towards the main entrance again to meet up with you guys.

It wasn't like the OP is intentionally breeding some poorly thought out cross bred mix and trying to sell them for exorbitant amounts of money to anyone and everyone. It was an accidental litter and the poor person needs advice! :D

Nawww, look at that face!

I've only ever met two GR X Poodles. You would never pick them as being the same mix. One is cocker spaniel sized, and has the hair of a wavy GR. The other is about 3 times bigger, and looks more like a Lagotto.

I have the same guilt. I was only working about 20 hours a week when we picked Kyojin up. Now I'm working about 35 hours, and OH works full time, shift work as a nurse. So Kyojin is sometimes home all day by himself. I have no idea what he gets up to :D But I love coming home everyday to him sitting eagerly at the front gate, telling him to go around the back, and then by the time I open the laundry door, he's pelting around the back. Sometimes he comes this close to smacking into the door before it's open

Yup, my best friends sister has a "Groodle". She now realises her mistake from buying from a pet store, but still always refers to her as a "Groodle"

I know you can take dogs on the beach at Wellington Point, but I'm pretty sure that's only Mon-Fri, so that would rule that place out. Colmslie looks great - the dog park and agility equipment would be fun. Could find somewhere for a swim the next time if it isn't suitable?

Oooh, Colmslie rec reserve was the one I had looked at on the net the other week, but couldn't find any photos of it so wasn't sure if it was going to be suitable or not. It looks fantastic! I'd love to try that one out if others are keen.

OH, Kyojin and I will be there ;) I believe my friends will be there with us too and their Border Collie pup

Kyojin splashes water everywhere when he drinks. He can trail it the entire length of our hallway, and then some! So much so that everytime I stand in anything wet I'm never certain that it's not a puddle of pee
