Both of mine have been VERY barky. Our bitch in particular will bark at absolutely everything. They are very lovely though.

What temperament are you after?

so how do you pronounce my griffon then? petit brabacon and griffon bruxellois many thanks :D I keep seeing this now and thinking how unfortunate it is that your dog is a "bra-bacon" dog

Of course that's ideal, but I believe JulesP has border collies (?) which are bred to make very quick, independent decisions. And once they make that decision they can be gone before you know which way you're facing! And often you don't know that something is an issue that needs training until it has happened. It's unfortunate that the people got a damp blanket but I bet Jules does a check for picnicers now :p I hope so, because if Jules does indeed own Border Collies, they are a very intelligent breed, and really, it goes both ways. If her dog does what it does, then one can hardly be angry with someone whose dog comes running at full pace at another dog, without any mean intentions and that dog is called rude. That's all I was attempting to point out. It's 'funny' in this instance, and rude in others. As for the picnickers they probably shouldn't have been where they and probably unaware of the off leash area. This really is just meant to be a light-hearted thread about embarrassing things people dogs do. The whole point is that the dogs have obviously done something that isn't exactly a desirable behaviour, thus the embarrassment.

I have thought of human nursing, but i can't say i am as patient with humans as i am animals, and i'm still hesitant to go back and study something for a long period of time. 3 years i think it is. My mum used to be a nurse. Hated it and gave it up to look after the kids all day. I guess i've only ever heard mums hate of the job. Never spoken to anyone that loves nursing.. My husband's also a nurse and hates it so I can't help you there sorry

Thanks everyone:) Yup Betsy, we really do need more pics! Sooo start posting everyone

Never, Kyojin poops right up the back of our yard so we don't ever see or smell it or have to worry about standing in it. Where he goes is full of leaf litter from some massive trees we have, and it decomposes really quickly.

Haven't posted in this thread in aaages! Here's some updated pics of Kyojin. Going to be a bit lazy and just copy my post straight from the Spitz thread Kyojin's going through his first coat blow at the moment, so every morning I wake up to another "snow storm" in the house to vacuum up. These photos were just after giving him a bath and blow dry to try and get his coat going a bit faster. Pretty proud of his efforts. I think he left most of his hair in the bath though Good thing we have a force dryer to then blow all the hair out of the garage afterwards! "Mum, please stop kissing me in front of the neighbours" "Seriously, you are sooo embarrassing!!"

Oh Sway, I am so sorry to hear this.

Beautiful, especially the one of Akira. But she's such a gorgeous subject, there's no way she could look bad!

Hudson is gorgeous!

I truly hope not! I really hope not too - some of us love the independance of the a Spitz ! Yup, I don't even mind it when I ask Kyojin to do something and he gives me the finger first
-
They are all so beautiful. Definitely making me want a Rotty again
-
Is he going to be desexed at all or are you keeping him entire??
-
Not sure about the air humping, but yup, that sounds like puberty to me

What Is The Worst Thing Your Dog Has Eaten?
minxy replied to dubbleyoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hmm let's see... This was all eaten in only about two weeks: My laptop charger Replacement laptop charger TV cables about 3 times (they were wired under the house and tacked up to the floor, but he still managed to pull them down and eat them) My hair straightener - managed to eat it while it was still in my overnight bag, and was still perfectly tucked away when I found it! Part of a bamboo lounge in our sun room OH's thongs My shoes from my best friends wedding - after the wedding, luckily!! I think that's about it, but yes, there was about a two week period where he was desperate to get to anything that had our scent on it. Edit: Forgot about one lot of bedding. Oh and too many food items to mention -
What Do You Do With Your Dogs When You Go Away?
minxy replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
My husband and I have only ever gone on two holidays together, one being our honeymoon. The first time was just 3 days and we only had the cats, so we had friends stay over to look after them. For our honeymoon, the same friends looked after the cats and Kyojin went to my parent-in-laws house for the week so he'd have company from their dog since he wouldn't have as much human company. I really didn't want to leave him with them (or anyone really) as I don't really trust anyone with him. I think I would rather he went to a kennel. We would like to try and go on some holidays where we can take him with us, though I'm not sure how easy it will be to find somewhere that will allow us to have a dog of his size there. -
I have one of my dogs with Medibank and took out the policy when it was 100% cover. Premiums have gone up, as to be expected, but do existing customers still get 100% cover, or are they dropped to 80% like new customers? No idea, but I'm curious to see this too. I signed Kyojin up in January. Have not heard about any changes to our policy yet, so I'm hoping not to get a nasty surprise next Jan.

I just did a rough quote with Medibank for you since I'm really happy with them, but it looks to be about $41.95ish. Have you looked at Pet Plan? That seems to be another popular one on here Edit: Pet Plan are more expensive.

I took Kyojin to the vet pretty much as soon as I got him. I wanted to make sure that there definitely weren't any issues present with him, especially as I'd had him flown over from a breeder without ever seeing him first.
