Entered shows at Sunbury Mon and Tues but only have numbers for Monday hope they got there!

I own and have handled dogs in Gr 1 and 6 (yes quite a difference! ) over the years. I would never dream of charging anyone as I feel it's an honour to be asked to handle and I enjoy it. I've received gifts such as grooming equipment etc which is nice and unexpected.

It's not a great pic, but here is one of my puff last year.

I flew up from Melb to watch/handle cresties. Was great to see Sheree do so well and then go one better with her baby in group. Well done again Sheree! The Leonbergers were supposed to be on the same day but no entries I may have to roadtrip up with Indy next year to represent the breed

I've been using Donna at 'Glamour Show Leads'. She's on facebook too. Lovely to deal with, fast delivery and she'll do samples of colours before you place order. Great prices too! I've got a bit of an addiction now

Yes thanks Sway I assume the double is the large breeds (St Bernards, Leos etc)

Sorry if I have missed it somewhere, does anyone know where I can get measurements for dog benches at the Royal?

I got away in time, guy was just about to put one on my car as I was leaving. I can understand the reason and idea but is frustrating that we take responsibility for our rubbish at shows then see a heap of flyers laying around. Some great alternative options being posted here, hope you don't mind me pinching them for the car club I am also in ;)

Lol BB, I express posted mine first thing Thursday morning. Also had trouble doing online with dog in diff names. Instead of wasting time online I rushed to post office. Hope the posty got it there on time!!

Thanks all and Kirstie

For a newbie like myself wanting to get a prefix, what are the steps? I heard there was a test? I also wouldn't want the same prefix as someone else.

I know a Leonberger won Gr2. Not entirely sure how they judge over there but great to see a Leonberger put up!!
-
WELL DONE!!! I just got notification that my Leonberger (now 9 months old) will be in the August Edition of Dog News because at the half year mark (30th June) she was No.1 Rising Star of Breed in Australia. And still is. GO INDY! Will have to make sure I get a few copies for breeder in NZ too as I know she's a proud grandma :D

Couldn't agree more, have had the same thing happen to me plenty of times. I wouldn't mind if they returned the favour on the odd times I haven't purchased a catalogue. Worse when it's someone you don't even know. I enjoy sitting and reading through catalogue to see what's entered, pedigree's, advertisements etc. Good read while watching what's in the ring

Great pics Kirst!! You look great in the ring together

Alaskan Malamute - New To Showing
Beth24 replied to Keeping it real's topic in General Dog Discussion
First of all, congrats on your first show dog, a very exciting time Not sure where you are based, but there is show training at KCC Park 7.30pm on a Thursday. That's a great place to start with a puppy. Everyone is really helpful and you can learn some great tips! Also great way to socialise your puppy. I know there is training at Bulla also - not sure on details though. If you are wanting to show at the royal, I'd suggest getting lots of practice and getting to as many shows as you can before then. If the breeder will be there then it will be a fun time for you both so personally I wouldn't be put off, afterall it is a baby puppy. I know I loved showing my first crested at the royal with the breeder from QLD there. We also had a win so could share it together I found the show ring more relaxed with baby puppies and no one expects them to be perfectly behaved so make the most of that time in the show ring Also, I wouldn't rush out and buy all that grooming equipment. As long as you have the basics, required brushes etc then that will keep you going until you decide on what you want and need if you continue to show. And most importantly, enjoy yourself and your new baby!! I have a Leonberger (also group 6) so happy to lend a hand where I can. -
WELL DONE!! My Leonberger also got BOB and then went on to get Minor Puppy in Group! I was also chuffed
-
I'll be there on the Saturday, hope to catch up

I have my numbers. So much rain here in Mt Eliza in past few days. Is there any possibility this show may be cancelled due to rain? Am worried if I can't access puter I will travel all the way to only find it's cancelled! Have had it happen before, at least it was a local show though.
-
Will be our first trip to Seymour, 2.5 hours for us so hope we can come home with a win
-
I received mine Wednesday and love it. Don't have a show until the 14th, eager to try it out! I have already put in another order! I have too many suits and coloured dogs to match them to
-
Hope they all come with good luck

Thanks for posting this, I ordered one yesterday and am planning on ordering more. I think I may have a new addiction! Lol Such a quick turn around, good price and they look great. Exactly what I have been after
