  1. My dogs can and do eat roo and beef jerky regularly. No problems at all with it :)
  2. Yes, it's me that has Bosdogs. I'm a registered breeder with the Australasian Bosdog Society. I agree with Katjek, don't go to the other registry! Tell them to go to www.australasianbosdogsociety.com.au to read up on the breed and to contact breeders or look at pups for sale :)
  3. Thanks so much you guys. He's been gone for 3 days now. As much as it makes me mad I hope someone has him and he hasn't been hurt or killed. I imagine him out there all alone . These dogs are big softies and he would be frightened and hungry. There is also a few packs of wild dogs in the Darwin rural area and they are known for attacking and killing domestic dogs.
  4. Thanks, I'll let her know. She is contacting NT News today to try and run an ad for him and she's been pup all night putting up fliers. Not sightings at this stage
  5. Thanks so much! I'm technically challenged and hubby is on Guard tonight so he can't do it for me :)
  6. Darwin Buy and Sell is one of the pages. I've posted on a few of them as Louise was having trouble doing it on her phone.
  7. He's here in NT. I doubt he's left the state but it won't hurt I guess to share it around. This is the post his owner has put up, I'll see if I can get a better pic of him to share.
  8. I just found out that one of the pups I bred is missing. Owner came home to find him gone and his containment collar in the driveway (they live rural). I think he's probably been stolen and I'm so worried about him. He is microchipped and has distinctive markings so would be easy to identify but if someone has taken him because they want a nice dog without paying for one or so they can use him for breeding then they will keep him hidden and its unlikely he'll be found. We've shared on FB and lost and found sites. I've also asked the local Newspaper to share it on their FB page. Not sure what else to do, any suggestions?
  9. Mine no longer sleep on the bed (2 snoring Bulldogs that move around during the night is not good for a restful sleep) but when they did they would occasionally snore and rearrange themselves. They also took up a lot of space and I'd often find myself in an uncomfortable position and wouldn't do anything about it so I didn't wake them. They sleep in crates in the dining room now and I'm sleeping heaps better and they haven't died from the neglect yet!
  10. We had a client at a salon I used to work at that had her pug clipped. It was that or her husband said he had to go due to the shedding. From memory it was clipped with a #10 blade, so pretty short but not bald. Not ideal but there are way worse things I suppose.
  11. Is be finding another vet at $1000 per eye! Everything in Darwin is twice as expensive as down south and I know that even up here it's well below $1000 for the surgery. I have a client who has a dog with cherry eye and it doesn't seem to bother the dog at all but it can cause worse health issues down the track if left untreated.
  12. I've recently found a fantastic butcher who has just about everything! My dogs now enjoy half a sheeps head a couple of times a week (they eat the brain first, then the tongue), chicken, beef or pork hearts, roo meat on the bone and whole minced chickens. They also get Big Dog Barf and for a treat they get dried roo or beef jerky.
  13. I always read in that thread and would love to be able to respond and also post my own queries and pics of my pups but my breed is not a ANKC recognised one I'll continue to read anyway as there is some great advise and answers to my questions even though I haven't asked them :)
  14. I did ask him how he figured it to be true, you know, seeing how dogs have been killing animals and eating the raw for quite some time but he obviously knows something I don't!
  15. I had a guy at work a few days ago tell me that raw feeding is very bad for dogs and it'll make them sick. He knows this because he once gave his dog chicken necks and the dog got sick and it cost him $800 at the vet (I highly doubt he spent that much on the dog as he is always borrowing money of people for cigarettes and drinks).
  16. FAIL. They are either misinformed or attempting to mislead me (which is rather silly) I wonder why the hell they have told me that they can't get a prefix yet because they need to get a bitch to breed first. The first thing it suggests to me is that they clearly haven't done much homework on what it takes to be an ANKC registered breeder. Not a good start for an aspirant breeder. I have a breeder's prefix and I do not own an undesexed bitch. I noticed this too and can't answer as it would depend wether or not a potential breeder needed to have a bitch prior to getting a prefix (which at this stage they do not so I wouldn't sell a pup to them because they were lying to me). I would sell a pup to someone wanting to start out breeding as long as I felt they were going to do the right thing by the dog and the breed.
  17. My JRT loves tea. I always save a little bit for her to have. The long nose means she can get to the bottom of the cup :) She loves it and will sit on my lap waiting for me to finish.
  18. I work with the couple who own her so I'll get regular updates on her. I'll also get to see her every now and then so I'll take some pics and post them :)
  19. Just want to thank Mita so very much for the help with finding a Tibbie pup for my friend. She picked up her pup on Thursday night and just sent me these pics. Puppy is a little girl and they have called her Lilly. I can't wait to meet her and have cuddles and kisses!
  20. I liked this post a lot more before you edited it Lol, I saw it straight away. :)
  21. There is a man up here who has an assistance dog. The man is deaf( he actually is) and the dog goes everywhere with him, wearing a bright orange harness saying 'hearing dog' on it. The dog is very old and overweight and it lags behind him as he wanders through our store but its harmless and well behaved so while I don't see how having the dog with him assists him it's not a big deal that it's there.
  22. Mine haven't done it but I have no problem with it at all. I'm way more repulsed by other people and what they may have left behind than a dog, even a dirty or sick one.
  23. They usually have their crazy zoomies type play after dinner (around 5-6pm) and they are allowed to bark for a few minutes while playing but I usually shush them after a while. I can't stand dogs barking constantly and seeing as I have 4 dogs in suburbia I don't want to upset neighbours. All dogs sleep inside at night and when we go out the 2 small dogs are kept inside as they are the ones that would bark the most.
  24. I love it so much. I was a bit surprised that he had gone to this much effort (getting someone to my house to do the casts without me knowing) as he likes to get things for me but isn't usually very creative or original in his gift choices. He's certainly gained some brownie points for this one though and yes, I plan to hang onto him ;)
