  1. That thought crossed my mind too. I was no sure if dogs had wet dreams
  2. Yes, I suppose he's at that age. I'm not sure why he's becoming aroused though? The last 2 times its happened he has been in my room (closed up with air con on so not able to smell other dogs even if there was one I season nearby). Every time it's been during the night, never during get the day and I've never error seen him humping at things or behaving like a horny teenage boy at all? I'll go to vet today (there is one near here open on Sunday) but will go back to vet I saw yesterday to ask about surgery tomorrow. I just put cool water on it and he was crying in pain as soon as I did
  3. What ended up happening to the boy you sold Kirislin? I don't know why it started all of a sudden. I might go back and ask vet if he thinks making the sheath opening would make any difference.
  4. Maybe should be in health but more traffic in here. A couple of months ago my entire male (just over a year old) had the end of his penis stuck out and it wouldn't go back in. It was very swollen and sore to touch. Had been out a while as it was also cold. I tried using KY to get it back in place but it just wouldn't. About an hour later, as I was putting him in the car to go to vet it went back by itself. No vet that time as I though it was a one off and there were no ill effects. 2 weeks ago it happened again, this time I took him to vet and she said it was most likely because he was becoming aroused and humping at something and this was the result. That time it also went back in on its own just before getting to vet. She suggested if it happens again to give him an injection that stops testosterone etc for a couple of months (not Suprelorin, was something different) if it happened again). So happened again on Friday night. He was definitely not humping anything as I let him sleep on my bed as husband is away and he woke me up when he got off the bed at 1:30 am and that's when I saw it. Tried again to put it back with KY but no luck. Went back in itself around 8am. Went to vet (different one) and he tested his urine and he has a urinary infection so on antibiotics for that but still no idea why this is happening. Just woke up this morning to find its happened again. I'm in tears as I dont know what to do? It's obviously quite painful for him and i just want it to stop. Has anyone else had experience with this? Did desexing get help? I'll do whatever we need, I just want to help him.
  5. For the record tattoos don't make me think someone is any kind of person. I have a number of tattoos myself. My brother looks like a bikie (he's not). Appearance is part of it sure, but my judgement is based on interactions I had with specific people and based on what I heard and saw I'm comfortable with labelling them bogans.
  6. The GSD owners didn't appear to be bogans, just completely clueless about their dogs behaviours. Which I pointed out concerns me more than a 'bogan' with a Bullbreed. I don't know that all bogans (or those I would consider as such) would be irresponsible owners but as a breeder I get to choose who I sell pups to and I'd rather be safe than sorry. I don't assume they want to fight the dogs at all, just that they are looking for a penis extender or ego boosting dog and given the comments the ones I have encountered have made and the questions they've asked that's exactly what they're after so I've made it clear that while my dogs may look tough, they most certainly have soft temperaments. I have friends that I wouldn't sell a pup to in a million years too. I make the judgement based on what I see and I see no real problem with that? Of course I'm judging them, based on the interactions I've had with them. Just like you're judging me based on my above post. I can't speak for all bogans, just the ones I've met :)
  7. I own Bullbreeds and I'm certainly not the kind of owner mentioned above but I do get what they're saying. When I take my dogs out in public they get a lot of attention and a lot of that attention is directed towards my male (I assume because he is more 'built' than his mum and is a nugget of muscle and looks tough) and its often from bogan type people. We also get a lot of interest from families as they are so good with kids but many are attracted to the look of them and I'm always quick to point out that they are a soft, sooky dog and couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag! I'm more concerned about the clueless owners who have no idea about dogs or their behaviours. I had a recent run in with a couple and their young, entire male GSD. He was displaying some very dominant behaviour towards my male Bulldog. I stopped the interaction as my dog was clearly uncomfortable and was trying to get away from the GSD and they became very upset and insisted that their dog was only playing. It's scary that people really can't see or recognise predatory and or aggressive behaviour in their dogs.
  8. I only have 2 bitches ATM, 8yr old JRT (desexed) and a 2yr old Bulldog (entire). My JRT has always been the boss dog, until Simi matured and refuses to accept Flashs bossy ways. For the most part they live peacefully but I do separate them when we are not home and they have had a couple of spats. The biggest issue is that Flash won't back down despite the obvious size/weight difference. So far I've been able to stop them with a yell but have to grab one of them to stop Flash from going back in for round 2. I plan on getting another bitch in a year or 2 so will have to be careful. Simi is fine as long as she isn't challenged but Flash likes to make a lot of noise and let them know immediately that she is queen. The 2 boys just do as they're told and try to avoid the girls when they're in a 'mood'. My entire male Bulldog is a big softy and has no problems with other entire males.
  9. I'd have the bitch sleeping in your room if she's close to due. I set up whelping box in my room and it stays there until pups are 2-3 weeks old.
  10. My bitch won't tolerate any of the other animals in our household near the whelping box for the first 2-3 weeks. After that she keeps a close eye on the interactions but will allow it and then at around 5 weeks she couldn't care who is near the pups.
  11. Blood in poo, diarrhoea, and vomiting all at same time is a no brainer - get it to a vet.
  12. I'm not a breeder but I agree with this. I agree with this too. If I were looking for a dog for working/sports performance then a show title wouldn't matter at all to me.
  13. I've done this at my local Petbarn. I was asked if I'd like to donate and when I said no everyone within earshot looked at me so I explained that I don't support the RSPCA as I don't agree with how they do many things. Not to mention that they have plenty of money and there are other groups that do a better job and need the money more.
  14. Australasian Bosdogs :) I am a registered breeder with the Australasian Bosdog Society, we have rules and regulations we must abide by. We also must have all dogs hip and elbow scored prior to breeding and the results must be within the acceptable range to be used for breeding registered litters. Our aim is to become recognised by ANKC and I really think we will, one day. I have made no secret of what breed I have and at no point has anyone on this forum ever had anything negative to say to me. Many have in fact helped with advise when I've asked for help from those more experienced than myself. I'm sure there are some that have negative opinions on it but they've kept it to themselves.
  15. My Bulldogs are crated at night. They go in around 10:30 and get let out at 6ish in the morning. This is because when they slept in my room I wasn't getting any sleep due to them moving, snoring etc. dogs are fine with this arrangement. I also crate Arnold during the day while we are all at work/school. He got out of our yard a couple of weeks ago and although he was kept safe at a house down the road, I really don't want him to get out again so crate is safest option for him (he isn't usually destructive but will chew things when left inside with no people at home). He goes into the crate at 8am and my daughter gets home at 2:30pm and let's him straight out. Most days my husband goes home at lunch and let's him out for half an hour too. This happens 4 days per week, the other 3 days there is someone home. All of my dogs spend the majority of their lives inside the house with us. They get massive amounts of attention and play time so I don't think this is causing Arnold any harm. Given he is not a super active breed helps, as I don't think this would work as well with a very active dog.
  16. My old Dobe was breedist. He hated SBT's and Rotties but loved other Dobes and funnily enough he really liked the large Spitz breeds. My Bulldogs are pretty friendly with everyone they meet but are definitely wary of much larger breeds. Lots of people (and their dogs) aren't sure what to make of all the snuffling and grunting they do. They definitely recognise other Bulldogs though and get very excited and love to play with each other. We also met a Frenchie on a walk and he and Arnold really hit it off :)
  17. My husband chose it. I wasn't convinced at first but it really does suit him. His registered name is Remarkabull Mr Boombastic so we had to choose something easier for at home :)
  18. It's a bit blurry, but I love this one :)
  19. It's Arnold's birthday today and to celebrate we met up at the dog park with 2 of his brothers and his great grandmother (and Simi, his mum, of course). We had a great time (except for the part where I had an argument with someone because their GSD was chasing Arnold and I told it off because they weren't doing anything about it). The brothers get along so well and loved having a run, wrestle and playing in the water. I forgot to take pics but of of the others took a couple so I'll post those. Arnold and Busta
  20. My Dobe always did this too. Simi and Arnold wait until I've just finished telling someone how awesome they are and how well behaved and then they'll jump up on them or some other naughty thing they don't often do.
  21. My Bosdogs are wonderful with any animals. We've got cats and they have also been introduced to birds, rabbits, snake, a turkey and horses and have been friendly and affectionate with all. All the pups I've bred are the same. We recently had one of the male pups come back and stay for a week and he was fine with the cats. He is almost 1 now and hasn't had access to cats since he left here at 8 weeks of age.
  22. I rotate them between being crated and taking turns at being inside and outside. At night they are crated next to each other (as per normal) and we don't have any issues. My bitch is a reall tart when the time is right and will hump everything in sight but when it's over she is happy to tell the others to back off :)
  23. My little fluffy dog came to me as a pet shop reject. He spent a month in a pet shop and no one wanted him. The reasons were 'he's too big' (he was 3-4 weeks older than the other puppies and is now a whopping 5.5kg fully grown), and 'I'd prefer a white one, I don't want a black one'. I really didn't want a fluffy dog but I was just drawn to him and wanted to make sure he was cared for.
  24. I understand they will see the report but surely the person who made the complaint would at least have their name removed or blacked out.
