Petition To Make The Humans Pee Outside On A Cold Frosty Morning
Bullylova replied to 7464's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi everyone- we as Bull Terriers would just like to add that we wholly support this petition. We may look tough, but honestly, why should we get a chilly butt? We think that our owner shoud put her butt near the groound to pee near frost. Our attitude is talk to the paw! We also envy Atlas' jim jams- however two of us find that they would be purely for eating enjoyment only. Quite a tasty snack. We unanimously hope this petition is successful- then we can learn how to use that thing that our owner points at us with the bright flashy thing, and use it to point at her while she pees. Yours in Paws Meg, Niro and Hemi.woof -
What Would Your Dog Sound Like If It Could Talk?
Bullylova replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
This is a really classic thread! I have often imagined what my hairy kids would sound like. I think Niro would definitely sound like Eeyore-he is bashful, and this is how I envision his voice would be. Meg would be like Pink- a bit rough and husky- "Tonight, I'll barge into your knees, cuz I can- Ice cream, Ice cream, we all want ice cream!" Hemi's voice would be quite well spoken, possibly with an English accent -
:D that is just gorgeous....

I have photos of one of ours painted, and also of my daughter in a dog bed with the doona pulled over both of them They are amazing with kids, if raised the right way :D

As an owner of Bullies, I have been on the other side of breed prejudice. It is really rewarding when someone interacts with a breed they "don't like" - e.g, we used to own a red and white bully, many people think they are only white, or brindle and white- only to discover it's a Bull Terrier :D One of my girls is not fond of strange dogs-when she is walked, I will move off the walkway, put her in a sit, and kindly ask people with dogs not to approach. With dogs she is familiar with, she is great. After many years as a Hydrobath Operator, I am wary of Border Collies, and Chihuahuas... through no fault of their own, BC'S always seemed to bite first , growl later, because the owner had not groomed them properly Chi's just liked to chomp your fingers at nail clipping time ,lol. Having said that, I wouldn't say I am prejudiced.

This is such a difficult thread, but I really felt I needed to share.Five years ago, we had to say goodbye to our 12 and a half year old Bully- he had arthritis, and it had started to have an effect on his overall mobility. To look at him, he looked fine(except his grey sunglasses lol) and was medicated. One morning, he didn't greet me at the door as usual, when we looked for him, he had been ferreting around in the garden, had lain down in a dip in the garden, and couldn't get back up When we stood him up( he then bounded off as though nothing had happened) the look he gave us said it all-you reall do know when it's time. We took him to the vet the next day....it utterly broke my heart, he spent his last night treated as an utter prince, but I just couldn't have lived with myself if something had happened when I wasn't at home.It was such a hard thing to do, but you will definitely know when the time is right. My heart goes out to you, and all others who have, and have been through this heartache. Many hugs.

As a relatively new person to the show ring( been showing for about 6 months now) I have yet to have the same judge twice, and thankfully, all that I have dealt with have been excellent with the dogs, that I have seen. Very kind, and gentle too.I certainly wouldn't enter under a judge again if they were nasty in thier handling of the dog.I can honestly say that I look at what we have in our schedule, then look at what shows I can do around that-maybe as I have been showing longer, I would look more closely at who was judging. At the end of the day, I go home with the best dogs, and it is a day out for me and them. :D Face judging would make it quite disheartening, as there may be a spectacular dog overlooked, and that would not be of any benefit for new people to learn. Edited for spelling

Teebs that is such sad news, but I hope the world starts to see more kind people like you that help an animal in need.Hugs to you.

People Who Cannot Control Their Dogs.
Bullylova replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ugh- this is something that yes, you do need to report- the situation could've been so much worse. It is really frustrating, and at times it's difficult to take the action...we had a person who lives in our street who constantly let his dog loose in the front yard, and of course it used to trot off to everyone's houses for a visit. The dog on it's own was quite harmless, very people friendly, but it used to stir everyone elses dogs up constantly, running up and down their fence lines, and standing on it's hind legs with feet on the fence. The final straw came when my OH was walking our dogs and the dog charged out onto the street and tried to grab one of the dogs...the guy just shrugged and walked over to finally grab his dog. After that I reported him. -
Hello Nadia, and Deb. Just an odd question, what time do you think the show would go until? I have to toddle to Durack for our Specialty that night, leaving in the arvo, but would still love to enter( I hadn't entered because of this ). Would it be do-able? Sorry for my probably silly question, but I am still quite new at all this lol :D Hope you are all well!!

May I suggest a "baste" of Bull Terriers, as we all know they love a good sunbake?

Time To Order Your Christmas Puppies!
Bullylova replied to poodlefan's topic in General Dog Discussion
Some awesome breeds here, great to see them getting their deserved exposure!!! Now, I have a business proposition for Deshonko.....I specialise in "Bull-breeds" and have recently done a mating of BullShiht's, am taking orders now, litter due tomorrow, so they will be ready for Santa to pick up to go to their new homes I also have some Bulldoodles, and Bullcocks- have to cater for those that like Bull breeds. If neither of these tickle your fancy, I also have Jack -In-The-Boxes, after many years of perfecting the type, my Jrt mated successfully with my Boxer boy these are all suitable for Export too Oh, and coz I know you want more, I will even throw in a free set of steak knives with any orders over ten -
Thankyou SparkyTansy I have not entered an open show before(they always seem to start when I would still be at work ) but would love to enter! This means I can - which is fab ;) Thanks so much for your help!!! One of the schedules does have an earlier start time, so I know why now

Okay, I have a question which may seem odd. I apologise in advance I am looking at entering a Champ show next year, where there is an open show, in the adjacent ring, starting at a similiar time. Is it set up this way for people to enter both shows? I don't want to hold up proceedings, but would love to enter the open show, as I have heard this is great for up and coming judges? Do people enter both with the same dog? Sorry if it's a dumb question!!

What I Love About Dog Showing
Bullylova replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
I am only very new to the show scene, but I am completely and utterly addicted!!! I love meeting new people, and admiring their dogs " in the flesh" rather than seeing them in a pic on the computer! I have met some wonderful people in the space of six shows, and can't wait to meet more Getting to spend the entire day with my dog, knowing that the whole day is about her.....whether she wins or not is irrelevant, it is a big day out for her ;) Don't get me wrong, I am absorbing all the info that comes my way, but I never want to get caught up in the competitive streak. Being a good sport. Going home with new friends, new knowledge, coated in doggy drool and smells, and recounting the antics of the day. Some of our four-legged friends are hilarious!!! -

Thankyou all for your advice!!! The lead doesn't touch it at all, and it is healed, she doesn't even know it's there I don't think, lol! Anyone can touch her, she is very placid, so I will leave her entered!! Yay!!! Thanks again-I just wasn't sure if she should be shown or not.

is it his show side or non show side? my dog cut her inside non show leg and required stitches took a week off then showed her and she took out baby i group the judges didn't even ask about the stitches though the did see them and she was bald from being shaved there It is on the underside of her neck. Unless you look under her chin, it is not noticeable.

I am entering my second show in two weeks time, and my dog has run into a stick, and has a sore on her neck-it is a clean wound , and healing, but she has lost a little patch of fur. Should I withdraw her from the show? Any help would be appreciated! The sore is about ten cent piece size.
