  1. The best website I have seen with a list of drugs is www.busteralert.org/
  2. I have an aussie that is highly dog agressive, to the point that he has ripped a big hole in one of my other dogs He is neutered and that made absolutely no difference. In researching his pedigree there is a history of dog aggression in some of his relatives I manage him by keeping him seperate from the others when I am not there, and muzzling him when I let him with the others. His aggression seems to be like something just clicks in his head and he goes into "kill" mode. The time he attacked and damaged my other dog, he was playing and something just "clicked" and he attacked... Alot of people have told me I should put him down but I can't bring myself to do that, and have been managing the problem for the past 4 years. Harley is also highly excitable, but he is great with people and has never shown any aggressive tendancies to people or I would probably have had him euthanased by now. Most Aussies have great temperaments, but there are a few lines that do carry aggression which is unfortunate Good Luck Karen
  3. There is a DNA test available that can test for purity. There are other differences such as larger canines in proportion to a dog skull of the same size. Dingos are a wolf in the subspecies Canis lupis dingo, but unfortunatley due to domestic dogs social structure and breeding experts believe dingos could be extinct in the next 20 years. True there would not be enough animals in captivity to preserve the species and it can be difficult to keep them in captivity in any more than pairs due to the nature of their social structure. This is probably why most zoos only keep a couple of dingos at a time. Karen
  4. I have always used the Plush Puppy Whitening Shampoo. It turns yellow brown whites into glowing bright white.
  5. I agree :D Frankly I am sick of people winging that they can't beat their competition and blaming it on the system and whatever else they can blame it on. If your dog is good enough it WILL beat the competition, it might take a while, since puppies will grow up but in the end if your dog is that good, it will end up being the one to beat! I am currently showing a young bitch who has multiple classes in groups (with some very good competiton) from only a few shows, and has only ever been beaten once in her class, she has only got 8 points toward her title, but she is only 12 months old!! I don't expect her to be her best until she is at least 3, and yes she will probably be a champion before then, but I cannot understand what the rush is to title young dogs, I say enjoy the ride!! AND we all have to remember this is supposed to be a hobby, and generally we like our hobbys, so if you are not enjoying dog shows find something else to do with your dog... there are a multitude of other sports available to try that might better suit. Personally I would be dissapointed if they changed the system so you didnt have to compete against the best to get a title. Cheers Karen
  6. Hey I have come in quite late in this topic, but for future reference, I have 5 Aussies, and I find the more highly strung ones do pant alot, especially in times of high stimulation.. They also drink more water than the others.... sounds like you did the right thing. Cheers Karen

  8. I have heard that the line also came with very bad temperament and has therefore been bred out.... but I did only hear this on the grapevine, so it may be off the truth, but it does make sense, that possibly this is why the gene has been lost
