  1. I hear you MM I can't stand them I got a moth stuck in my ear once and it required a trip to casualty to have it removed. I only need to hear their wings beat and I cringe
  2. How truly awful for the doggies the children and the mum. Even the neighbours will have been affected by this.
  3. The effort put in to rescue this boy is extraordinary and the fight to save this boy continues Well done to all involved!
  4. You mean they don't go around in the ACT wasting $$ and preying on the soft targets ? Maybe he could come and teach those in NSW and VIC how to do their job They don't support BSL, they want to see pet shop puppies banned and they even meet with the Canine Control to discuss issues of mutal interest! Excuse my ignorance but what is BSL?
  5. I wish you the best of luck for Saturday...I have been following this thread fom the begining and everytime I come back I look forward to the post that says this fella has been caught.
  6. I would stay if I couldn't take my dogs with me in a flood situation. I had to rescue my chooks a couple of years ago when we had floods i brought them inside into the bathroom I had mum and bubs in a box on a hot water bottle after we found them soaked, man did my bathroom pong after that LOL.
  7. These traps are supposed to be great a lot of poultry people use them mainly because of the no bait used bit, a lot of poultry people have either JRT's or guardian dogs so they're not keen on the bait.
  8. I always feed my boys seperately in different rooms with the door closed. There are 2 reasons for this 1. Rocky eats much faster and would try and eat Coopers food, which would definately result in a fight. 2. They are on different diets. Though the meal is prepared in the kitchen with both dogs waiting and the haven't fought whilst I have been getting it ready. Not sure that this helps you much it is just my experience in this house with my boys. eta my boys have only been together since June.
  9. Gemma certainly looks very proud of herself
  10. Great pics mm cheeky little bugger isn't he
  11. I have 2 teenagers, 2 dogs, 2 escapoligist calves, 40 odd chooks and a husband with a broken leg ......the dogs winge the least, show me the most respect and expect the least from me lol.....so I am absolutely no good for you
  12. This is a great topic and has made for a very interesting read. Most of my dogs have been pound dogs so not pups, I would say that is is possible not to bond with a dog though one of our rescues a terrier x I never bonded with and neither did anyone else all our visitors disliked her she was yappy and reserved. Even our family didn't bond with her not that we treated her any differently she still slept on our knees and on our beds right up until the we lost her at 11
  13. He is due back 31 October October 31 cannot come fast enough....may Andrew and all our boys stay safe and may saint/dimples/hero continue to grow.
  14. A standard courier company would never drive around for that long and they are not carrying live animals!...are we not in the modern world where every man and his dog (pardon the pun )has a mobile phone, it takes 5 minutes to pull over and make a call. That type of behaviour is just appalling not to mention very bad business practice. I hope you get some sleep tonight and that your puppies are more than okay.
  15. What a lovely story saint (dimples) and Andrew are going to be so happy Is Andrew due back soon? My son is also o/s i the army, the news from Afghanistan has my heart in my mouth. This is such a lovely story though
  16. It is most definately not the norm unfortunately and yes I work in a retail business that bend over backwards for customer service. It smarts that a customer can threaten to kill you and is given a $50 gift card for their effort. We are all human and yes we make mistakes I am so pleased that the OP got such a great response to her problem.
  17. LASSIE! as a young child we had a rough collie that walked me halfway to school every morning. He always made me stop at the railway line and he chose if I was allowed to go across or not. He was my families 1st rescue dog he used to be a performing dog but broke his leg and was going to be PTS but dad rescued him. Maybe thats why my entire family has rescue dogs
  18. hovawart....I had to google this wow stunning if it wasn't for google I would have thought it was something from Harry Potter I saw a BMD this morning
  19. aaaawwww how cute if only the kids were as well trained as the dogs
  20. We have had several poundies cause I am a sucker LOL my first poundie a cocker spaniel cross I picked because she was crying, turns out she had an eye infection. my next 3 poundies all tugged at my heartstrings there was in instant bonding, this has been over a period of the last 24 years mind you(now I am feeling old). We have traveled up to 7 hours to look at a pound dog. Our dogs aren't perfect and come with baggage but they have given us so much joy and have been worth the effort that has to be put into them (as is needed by all dogs not just poundies).
