Is he near a Costco? Their brand is made by Taste Of the Wild . I feed one of mine the salmon and sweet potatoe and she does really well on it. 15kg bag is under $60 If money wasn't an option i would feed Big dog too, i love it, but with 2 largish dogs its out my range too. ( Costco also sell patties made by Big dog and branded as their own which are cheaper).

Councils are useless . How many times do we hear that the dogs had been reported before . I rang my council about an aggressive Rottie that lives in my street , it lunged at me as I went to get the mail , I didn’t see it coming as there is a tree blocking my view that way . It barely missed me . I have seen it lunge at other people who have jumped into the road to avoid it . The young teen who walks it can hardly hold it . Council told me it had to actually bite me before they could do anything!

Yes , just realised as it’s in general it probably is dog food !

Big dog patties make feeding raw easy as it’s all they need . You could try soaking the kibble in gravy to soften it if you really don’t want to feed raw .

I'm thinking of installing a dog door and not sure which to get. Bunnings make the cheapest ones, but they looked a bit flimsy when i went in to see them, ( think 2 BT's barging through!). Next i saw Patiolink, however the size i would need is over $480 i think, plus shipping, plus it need the locks removing on my current sliding door, drilling new holes in dog door frame and making sure they fit flush. Not something i can do and i got a quote from one of their installers and its $225, so very expensive all up. Next one i found , Modern pet doors, say no drilling required but their page is a bit confusing , they mainly rant on about how good their door is without much practical info. The first thing i will have to do is get a locksmith to come and unlock said door as i have never opened it and have lost the key, so more expense before i even start! Anyone have a good one?

Front leader harness’s seem to be the recommendation atm by trainers as I’ve had a few customers now say they were told to buy one . The latest was for a 13 week old lab . I like the sporn harness as I’ve seen it work on a few big dogs but never seen the front harness in action , does it help with big pullers ?

A lot of foods are made in the same factory you would be surprised, and although a lot are still made here not many are Aussie owned anymore .

They have stopped making them . The closest we have stocked to replace them is Bigga Bics by blackdog , not as big and not as cheap tho .

How long is she in the crate ? Why is she in there when you are home ? Seems like a lot of confinement and not a lot else .

Can you put pee pads in pen so she knows where to go ? Can she be outside when you are at work , more interesting for her as long as it’s safe with shelter and she gets used to going out .

Personally I would rehome her . Why have her medicated for life when she could live stress free and happy, ( which she isn’t now), in a home with other dogs . Your looking at another 10+ years , is this what you want ? I think you feel guilty , don’t , wrong dog for you. Dogs do not show themselves in kennels well , I’d be reluctant to take a trainer in to help you pick one anyway unless they understand that . Taking a dog in foster care is way safer . The longer this goes on the harder it will be for all .

Internationally, twice a month on average? and for how long ? Do you plan on boarding the dog or have other options?

I agree with the post , I’m sick of people making me feel bad for having purebred dogs . “ Don’t shop , adopt” , or Don’t buy , rescue “ . I happen to like certain breeds and I certainly wouldn’t get a rescue one as they are all badly bred and dodgy . On the other hand I’d like a grey again one day and that I would happily be a rescue .
