  1. Echo looks great, Kylie! He's so shiny :D Well, Ruby ate all of her biscuits tonight at a ratio of about 2/3 puppy, 1/3 adult. I gave her an adult biscuit when I opened the bag and it was huge! Poor little poppet just nudged it with her nose to start with, but in true Labrador style, she soon scoffed it down I just hope they'll fit in her Buster cube I'll post some photos soon.
  2. Hee! I'm reading the thread now. I'm so glad snarky Koala is back
  3. Hi Sammie! Good to see you again, and the cutest Frenchie doglet, Asti Hey, Wizzle. Good to see you back too. Miss G has been a naughty girl, hasn't she? :D Hope Wee Wizzle is treating you nicely and not making you throw up anymore ;) I went shopping today and bought Roo a trampoline bed for lounging outside. It took me forever to put it together (I'm just not handy), and typically, Miss Roo is lying NEXT to it on the grass, but not actually ON it. Oh no wait! I just peeked out the window and SHE IS!!!!! Yay!!!! Must go get camera.... ETA- Bugger! I was too slow- now she's on the grass again :D Ah well, at least I know that she has been laying on it! In other news, I bought Ruby her first bag of adult food today. So much conflicting information about when to change over, but I figured, she's 8 1/2 months old now, and lots of people on DOL stop feeding puppy food to their dogs before they're even 6 months (so I read). Anyway. We'll see how she goes. I just hope she likes it as much as the puppy version
  4. Good lord! How is that even possible???!!! I don't even want to imagine... ;) ;)
  5. Hee hee Max, your post made me laugh. I wish we had some dog park buddies, but alas, there is no dog park in my town ;) There's an off leash section at the adventure playground, but not quite the same. I don't bathe Roo all that often Only if she's been swimming in the dam at my brother's. MDTL said Roo didn't want to swim in her dam when she took her out, but then there weren't any other dogs out, and Ruby has only swum with other dogs. Koala, big hugs. I'm glad it was a lovely day and as you said, more happy memories than sadness. I'm sure your dad would have been touched by everyone's kind words.
  6. Ohmygosh! They are just the most gorgeous puppies! I love the 3rd pic- what is the difference in ages of the two litters? I'm yet to "meet" an Aussie, but wuffles' (and yours too ) Ava has made me want to learn more about them and they're on my list of "one day" dogs ;) .
  7. Oh Wuffles, I love those photos! Especially the second one. I wish Roo was that focussed She had a great time at MDTL's house. MDTL kept saying how good she was and what a lovely, well-adjusted dog she is She's welcome any time, which is good because next weekend is my older sister's birthday
  8. Hugs Koala. I've had a week of them this week Your doglets though, as always, are loverly
  9. Hey lovely people! I've had a pretty crappy* day today (* times that by about 10, and add a few more expletives and you might get an idea), but have cheered up a bit looking at all the pics Welcome Kylie :D Your doglet is gorgeous, and I'm sure you and Raven will have lots to compare. Clastic, your house is lovely! So jealous of your kitchen! My kitchen is teeny. An extension is badly needed on my house Glad your first day at work went well too. Niques, glad you and Ruby's twin, uhhh James are home and safe. Miss Roo is hopefully still being good for MDTL while I'm at Dad's. Koala- couldn't help but laugh when you said you and Mr KTB "woofed" at your doglets to make them bark Roo just stands at the door, and since my house is small, I can see her and take her out. I like the woofing idea though Max, good to see you back Wuffles- do you have one of those stick thingys that you attach Ava's lead to on your bike? Glad her paw is better. Betsy- I too have failed with the cat/dog interaction . They're as bad as each other Jasper the cat riles Roo up I'm sure of it. KA- Did I miss the pic of Kuma in Mr KA's lap? Or did you mean, that was the next one you took? In other news, I met my first Koolie today. He was called Spike and was a splotchy light dusty colour with the clearest blue/white eyes. Interesting. Sweet doglet though. Belongs to a friend of my dad's. Hope everyone is well. It's good to see lots of posts in here again
  10. Could you cover the spot with sand or dirt? ETA I need to get some of that bin kill stuff. My bin does not smell good at all
  11. I've been pretty slack with walking Ruby lately- the week just gone my best friend was here, and the week before that she was at my brother's while I was away. So needless to say when I took her for a walk yesterday and today she was the feral monster dog from hell! Today she even munched on some poo she found under a tree we walked past. No idea if it was dog or cat, but so, so disgusting! She's off to stay with MDTL tomorrow while I go back to my dad's, so she's better behave. Unfortunately, I don't think teaching Roo LLW is part of the boarding experience
  12. Good luck for tomorrow, Clastic Thought I'd better add some photos This is Lucky, the neglected dog my brother found last Friday. You can't tell how skinny she is in this photo though. Ruby and Tiger (my nephew's dog) Roo with her Christmas treat This evening after a walk And in her new palace...errr, gazebo
  13. Awwww! Is that Mr KA with Kuma? Smiley Kuma is so cute!
  14. My dog had one stitch that looked a bit icky, but they ended up healing well and the vet decided to take them out short of the 10 day period (I think it was 8 days or something) because the stitches were annoying her more than the wound itself. I bought some Woundgard from DStore (but you could get it from Petbarn or your vet I think) and sprayed it on the stitches for the last few days- it kept her from licking them and is an antiseptic, but the vet suggested putting Vicks around the area to stop her going near it as well. It's a LOT harder to keep a bigger dog "quiet" like the experts say. My vet just said to keep the area dry and try not to let her jump around too much.
  15. Not as far as I know, Koala. And as most good breeders will tell you, there shouldn't be a difference in price according to colour either. But as you would have seen, some people do price according to colour
  16. I love you guys At work when I talk about Christmas presents for the dogs or even taking them to dog school every Sunday, one of my colleagues looks at me like I am a Crazy Person and then I wonder: "Am I a crazy person because I dote on my doggies so much?" My colleagues do the same ;) I guess they wouldn't buy a gazebo shade thingy for their doglets either... :D lol
  17. I make sure Ruby poos before bed too. She usually does. She does 2-3 poos a day I think...
  18. Did you check out the Labrador thread? Very friendly and helpful people in there Quite a few breeders post in there, so someone should be able to help you out.
  19. I've never given Ruby a raw egg (one of those "gunna" try it one day things ), but she sure cleared up the eggshells left over from our Boxing Day bacon and egg BBQ breakfast! Her mama dog is an egg fiend! To the point where she is mysteriously getting into my brother and SIL's chook yard which is latched and has one of those elasticised hooky strap thingys (I want to call them an occy strap- is that right???) on the gate too and eating all the eggs! ;) My SIL was not impressed by this! Their chook yard is huge and also includes their orchard, vegie garden (now fenced off) and their compost heap, which Poppy (mama dog) also likes to munch on :D Thankfully, she doesn't try and munch on the actual chickens.... Ruby's bag of food sits on the kitchen floor unzipped and she ignores it...actually, she did stick her nose near it the other day when she had an upset tummy and was acting starving but didn't put her head in it. The garbage bin also sits in the kitchen without a lid and Ruby has never stuck her head in it. She doesn't bench surf...but then again, I don't have much of a bench for her to surf... :p Good to see you again, Clastic ;) Look forward to seeing pics of your new house :D
  20. Yes The first pic was a soft bed- I had held off getting one for her for months, and then a couple of months ago when it was forecasted to rain all week, I bought her one. It lasted 3 days! :D :D So, back to old sheets and polar fleece blankets she went! Although when she stayed at my brother's last week, she ate a chunk out of her sheet *eyeroll* Who knows why. The 2nd pic also happened during a rainy day a few months before the 1st- she pulled all the stuffing out of a toy ball with rope. Thankfully she only chewed on the squeaker it contained that she also pulled out, and didn't eat it
  21. Sounds like a terrible mess :D My puppy Ruby could have been a contender for this award too
  22. Hee hee love the Ava/Satch conversation. Roo luuurrves sardines too, but she loves her kibble plain too. My best friend has been staying with me this week and yesterday we put up a gazebo/shade type thing in Roo's yard. Of course, Roo has chosen to sleep elseware in the yard today the little bugger, but then it hasn't been that hot here today. Minxy, what HAVE you been doing to yourself?!!! Hope your foot is feeling better today, and you're staying dry. Niques, I know you're at your brother's for his wedding, but I hope your house and James are both okay. Betsy, I hear that Vic is about to cop a whole lot of rain soon/if not already :D Hope you're okay too. KTB- Love the photos I still haven't bought a big bag of kibble for Roo :D I know it would make more sense money wise, but...maybe when she's not eating puppy food anymore. Which by the way, I still am unsure of when to change over :D Hope you're all well
