  1. Great to hear you have the ET bug! Feel free to ask any and all questions. Between all the regulars here, there are many brains to pick from all aspects of the ET - competing, training, club admin and judging. We will all help get you ready. M
  2. Yes, you can. Which test are you considering? M
  3. Hi, am assuming you mean the trial dates for each state? Will compile a list of all states ET events as soon as I have all the info to hand. M
  4. Well done on the RN! Great news. Quite sure you can be well and truly ready for this years ET's. Start training now and you will not have a problem. Any queries, just ask. I have competed in 9 ET's and have judged them in Victoria and the ACT, happy to share any advice and training tips. M
  5. Hi Bundyburger, the ET's are always run in the colder Winter months. It is a rule that if the ambient temperature reaches or exceeds 24 degrees celsius, the test is cancelled. Running a test later in the year would heighten the risk of cancellation as the weather warms up. If you started your training now, your dog would be well and truly ready for this Winter's ET's. Good luck. M
  6. ng to run two dogs through it, possibly a third if the SA Endurance Test is after October 4th, 2013. Does anyone know when the ET will be run in Adelaide, SA this year? Thanks. I just looked on the S.A site, I could not find the dates yet but they should be up there soon, other than that Abbiestar might know :D The SA test is run by the GSDCSA. They usually run their ET on the same day as the GSDCV in Melbourne. If they are consistent with their dates, and I believe they are, the ET for the GSDC in both Adelaide and Melbourne will be held Saturday June 22. M
  7. Happy New Year to all ET'ers. Good to hear of another test for Westernport Obedience Dog Club. 8. The ET's are over for this year. Keep up the training, and we look forward to next years tests. Well done to all who achieved a title. M
  9. Start her off in very small doses. Build her up very slowly. You have plenty of time to prepare her, so do it well and properly and you will be fine. If you are going to do the ET on a bike (and you are) get her used to the presence of the bike by walking the bike between you and her. Once she is used to the bike being there, start riding it. Small distances at first, say to the end of your street and back. Again, once she is used to this, you can expand the distance. Get a speedometer for your bike from the bike store and if possible, have the bike store fit it for you so that it is correct in distance and speed measurement. Do not exceed 11 kph. That is roughly the maximum speed you will encounter doing an ET. She cannot drag you, or lag behind. The ET is broken up into three sections of 8ks, 6 ks and 6 ks again. There are rest periods in between each section. That should get you started, please ask for more advice as you go along. M
  10. Definitely use a bike, unless you are a seasoned marathon runner :)) M
  11. It was my first and I really enjoyed it. Now I just have to find a dog to borrow for next year! Two Border Terriers also ran and passed - well done to everyone but especially the Little Brown Dogs! Excellent news! Well done. M

  14. Great news! It would be fantastic to see another club hosting an ET to help lift the profile of this great dogsport. Let me know if you or your club need any help or input. M
  15. Wishing your daughter well for her surgery. Her wellbeing is what is important. There will always be another ET. Best wishes to your family. M
  16. Hey murve, how did your club go in discussing an ET? M
  17. Good to hear. Don't forget the thermals and a good pair of padded cycling shorts! M

  19. Oh we feel like we have won Tatts  we will be back next year with 3 more of our dogs  your support & encouragement was absolutely great thankyou M :D Glad to be of service! You are very welcome. M
  20. Wow! what an honour! Will the papillon club have a parade in our honour? Or name an event after us? Or induct us as honorary life members? Or name the club rooms after us? Oh what fun!! Seriously though, it was an honour to judge the ET, and YOU should be justifiably proud of the effort you put in to achieve this title. M
