goldbaby- You can upload them to a site like photobucket and then copy the url of the photo. Then when you reply, click on the add photo tab (it has a picture on it) and paste the URL to your photo into that :D Yes, it can get quite expensive ETA: Sorry, you can do it when you fast reply as well.

doggylovers- Very cute! goldbaby- Photos please :D We went and bought toys, food/water bowls, leads, brush etc yesterday and a crate today. 1 more week until we meet all the pups for the first time and less then 3 weeks to go until we bring her home

SecretKei- Thankyou for the link. It will come in very handy Thankyou everyone for taking the time to reply. After a long discussion we will be getting a station wagon (in the near future) and an off road trailer for the camping gear.

We are getting our Golden Retriever puppy in 3 weeks (very exciting!) and one thing I still need to buy is shampoo etc. What do you recommend? Thanks

Gorgeous photos! And that's lovely that they are getting along so well
-
whiskedaway- Last time I had sleep deprivation was when my youngest (now 18mths old) was a newborn. It's all worth it though How long is it before puppies can sleep through the night? I just want to prepare myself mentally for what is to come

Naomi and Huga- I am very excited for you both!! Can't wait to see the photos! You better not let us wait too long I woke about 6 times last night telling "Lady" (mum and her partners dog) to go back to her bed. We put up a gate at our bedroom door so she can see us but can't come in and we also put boxes as a barrier where the loungeroom starts. Little did we know that she could fit through the gap between the boxes so she kept escaping, LOL. Anyway, it shows me of what is to come "Lady" is snoring as I type. She must be as tired as I feel

Naomi and Huga- Only one more sleep! Bet you can't wait!!! We are getting my mum and partners dog this afternoon. We will be looking after her for 11 days while they go on a cruise. She is a cocker spaniel so alot smaller then a golden retriever but it will still be good practise (daily walks, playing, feeding etc)

I don't have any tips but just wanted to say I hope you have a great time We love camping and will be taking our dog with us in November as well (we get our first pup in April ).

Sandra777- Thanks for your reply Ideally I would want a box for the dog that is made out of the same materials as the dog trailer (with the ventilation, whirly bird and all) but only 1 berth in size so it can be fixed onto/into an off road trailer. I don't think they exist though! Damn it LOL. Crazy Daisy- Thanks for your reply also. I will have to have a talk to hubby about a dog trailer and also do some more researching. We take so much camping gear with us I am not sure it would fit into a 4 berth one.... (up until now we have hired a trailer). The dog trailers are so expensive that we will definately go second hand if we do decide to get one.

Thankyou everyone for your replies and recommendations Ventilation was an issue for me as well which is why I suggested to my husband about getting a proper dog box made up (I forgot to mention that in my OP). A new car is not an option for us right now as it is a very expensive option and we don't think it's necessary. I will look into proper dog trailers. oakway- Our dog will be apart of our family so we would like to include her as much as possible. I will be staying away from boarding kennels as I would much rather prefer to have my parents or inlaws look after her if needed. And we will be considering the areas we take her to regarding ticks. We have young kids and entertainment is a must, so we normally go to caravan parks. Many of the top tourist ones allow dogs (on leash). Thanks for mentioning it though

MissB- Thanks for your reply SecretKei- Both our children are still in carseats so that would leave very minimal room for her. It would probably be ok for short trips but not so much for long ones.

We will be getting a golden retriever puppy the first weekend of April, and we will be crate training her. We would like a collapsible wire crate and we are looking at getting one from Vebopet or a C Crate. As to which we decide on depends on the following: We love camping and we will be wanting to take our dog with us when we do go again (end of the year). Our car is a Holden Commodore sedan and she will not fit in the car (we have 2 children as well). So our thought was of getting a box trailer and securing her crate inside the trailer when needed and have her traveling in that (we would get a canvas cover made up for the crate with zip up windows and doors and the trailer would also have the option of a canvas cover with zip up windows etc). But are dogs allowed to be transported this way? Would we have to have the suspension altered to make it a smoother ride for the dog? We would be looking at an off road type box trailer. I am not sure what their suspension is like to start with..... We were opting for an off road box trailer rather then a dog trailer because we need to transport all of our camping gear as well (it's a lot). If we are able to transport her this way, would we be better off with the c crate? And what's the difference between the vebopet crates and the c crates? I am sorry if this post is all over the place Any thoughts/ideas/recommendations would be appreciated ;)

kirst_goldens- I have read that as well. I guess we will find out which one we want after we have met and spent time with them a bit. Well I hope so or the breeder might just have to throw one at us Koemi- They are very cute. The litter we are getting our Golden from are 3 weeks old as well but a tad bigger then that LOL. They are already trying to escape their box, hehe. Naomi- Your sig is just gorgeous
-
stonecutter- I think Hideki is a lovely name too! Any chance that he will change his mind? whiskedaway- Thankyou kirst_goldens- I have my fingers tightly crossed for lots of females. Looking forward to the news Well just got some more puppy pics and they are already trying to escape their box hehehe. Such gorgeous little things. AND we get first pick of the girls!!! There are 3. How are we ever going to choose! They are all so beautiful.

Naomi- I think it is very pretty too. I think it must be a common name for Goldens (a member of the Golden thread mentioned that there were a fair few named that in past litters). But I don't personally know anyone that has a pet named that (only humans), which is nice. I wanted something pretty but also a shorter name, so I think Lilly works well (thanks to my 5 year old)

DogNerd- Welcome Diesel&Ryder- I have been there too. My wait started when I was waiting for the bitch to go into season. It's a long wait but so very worth it doggylovers- How exciting! Make sure you take loads of photos (and share them here if you are allowed ) Naomi- That's great that it will be a long weekend! Gives you and extra day too The Golden Retriever pups are now 3 weeks old and my have they grown since the first photos!!! I even got to see a little video of them. They are just sooo adorable (and wobbly hehe). My daughter wants to call our pup Lilly. I have heard that it's a very popular name but whats one more hey She may change her mind in the next 6 weeks so we will see.
