If you don't plan to stay in an aqis approved country, your dog can be boarded there but it is very costly.. Last time I asked they say it is in the 8k if not more.

omg.. that is seriously very scary... it might do them some good after seeing that!

They certainly do!! Winter and Monya are also distantly related to Kairu... their great-great-grandad is Kairu's dad Wow... So in simpler term kairu is on the same level as their great grandad? He's so old! MissB you're so informed! Now do you know how Emmy and Codi relates? Haha I want to make a family tree now Edit: auto spelling changed some names to fish

So I have seen some dogs are able to sit, lift their 2 front paws up, and continuously shaking the 2 front paws up and down. (if you get the picture) Obviously, the first thing is to get them to lift the paws up from the ground, but after that how do you teach them to shake the two front paws together? Any tips would be great Thanks

me me! I got Kairu: a frisbee, a chew squeaky toy, a rubber tire, a travel water bowl, a xmas reindeer ear(for my amusement and taking photos of him haha), a tug rope with ball attached. I have caved and gave him the rubber tire early and the xmas reindeer ear I have put on him (that is broken now) haha :D

We had this boxer in our puppy class, the owner said she went to a previous training school and the trainer said there's no way we can train the boxer and she has to be PTS. The boxer is not aggressive at all.. very playful and friendly.. the only thing was sometimes she just rolls on the ground not wanting to move. but being PTS because of that as a puppy?

sure thing pointees as long as I'm free I'll be there

I saw one in docklands today. One of those shop that sells all the xmas decorations outside, they have quite decent pet stuff inside.

MissB I feel for you.. when I got Kairu I had almost 2 months of always interrupted sleep haha.. I stay in an apartment so his toilet area is outside on the balcony, I have fenced off an area for him to toilet in so as soon as he goes out the door, he's there. Sometimes he gets distracted with sounds of people walking downstairs but generally when he was only 2 months, he will go straight away. After 2 months of hard work, he is 100% reliable in peeing outside given that the door is open. If not then he will pee at the door.. Hang in there!! I got the flu from all that lack of sleep haha..

Hi DOLers, This is not Kairu but I'm asking about another dog. I was told that she barks excessively when there is thunder sound.. She is inside the house and has never had a problem involving rain or thunder.. but whenever it rains and there's thunder sounds, she will bark non-stop... Any advice on what to give to try on the dog? I've read a little about desensitising(sp?) but how would one reproduce the thunder sound? ETA: not a puppy, I believe she's about 3 y.o Thanks!

I am near.. melbourne city but we can always drive around maybe.. xD The tear stain can usually come off after a while... yippeee.. you must be so excited! don't go gear mad like me and buy stuff thinking.. "he'll grow into it" 4 months along and he still hasn't ETA: b&c: yes please! photos!! we'll be poking both you and kenneh for them :D
-
that's the best way to go about it isn't it... unlike me and my crazy shopping for Kairu and got him one that he still needs to wait to grow into :D
-
oh! good point.. it wasn't directed at anyone.. just random grr grr here and there while zooming around.. so not to worry? it's just my parent's are with the thought that any growling = dog is angry and about to bite you..
-
Hi, I am just wondering what's the view on puppies that growls while playing? (with me) He has never growl on anything else, me taking the food, other dogs moving past, humans moving past etc. But when he goes nuts and does zoomies.. sometimes between his playtime with me.. he will let out a growl while zooming around.. is that something that is normal?

MissB do you know of this litter? The pup is coming in a week that means he might be up for the JS meet with CWEW and me more white fluffies! where about in Vic are you located Kenneh?
-
YAY! more JS in Vic!! I'm going to go over to look at her site hoping the photos of pups are there Mine was from NSW and I used Jetpets, never had issues with them.. (just FYI, I've recently enquired on their price airport - airport, it is always cheaper when you ring them rather than do an email enquiry ) I can't spell

all these talks about dog attacks are scaring me... My first reaction seeing a dog coming to charge would probably be to lift my dog up.. not sure if that's a good idea at all.. now I have to make sure I remember some of this tips just in case.. there was some sort of bull breed rushing over the other day.. off leash near traffic.. no re-call nothing whatsoever... the excuse was she's just a puppy and only wants to play coming from someone who can't control the dog??? not sure if that's something I'd believe.

Their coats depends on climate? so does it mean in a hotter area, it will be thinner? Is it possible to still have a fluffy one in a hot weather?
