  1. Now i gotta another good reason to get the 50mm 1.8, great shots.
  2. First day bought zoe home, went out and got a real fancy plush expensive bedding mattress. Next morning no more bedding, just a trail of foam and material.
  3. Excellent, looks like 1.8 is a goer. $150 at teds - http://www.teds.com.au/canon-slr-lenses/ca...074665_2074819/ anywhere worth the trip for cheaper?
  4. Hi Helen This is the course I am doing - http://www.acq.edu.au/Courses/DIG-digital-...se-outline.html No real requirements as a beginner course just a dslr and photoshop/elements. Yeh, I thought a 50mm would be good just to have different lens from my standard lens to start off with and of course, price is major influence. Your photos are fantastic, so its 1.8mm your using not the 1.4? Cheers Greg
  5. Hey all, Have just enrolled in a photography course which is very exiting as I want to see if I can develop my "sort of" photo skills into being a possible pet photographer As a bit of a treat to myself I want to get one of those 50mm 1.4 or 1.8mm canon lens that I have read about here and seem very popular. Question is, which one is better at what? and what sort of shots do you use it for mostly for? as on a very steep learning curve at the moment Cheers Greg
  6. Nice one, I got the same camera the other week, it was the feel and navigation of menu that won me over from the Nikon.
  7. Hi, Notice your in Sydney, which beach is this? Greg
  8. First time we took Zoe to the beach/bay area she went straight in and kept going :p I was just about to kick the shoes off and go after her when she happily turned around and headed back. Looking back on it, we should have done it bit more slower.
  9. Nice photos, you got some really good shots of the puppies. All I have of Zoe are black fuzzy blobs when I went to visit breeder ,I wish I had my good camera back then : ( Greg
  10. Yep, Zoe gets a whole frame every now and then. Doesn't even appear to touch the sides
  11. Some nice action shots, they do look like great mates.
  12. A lot of rough play happens whenever there is another lab on the scene.
  13. Flickr Group Feel free to add to the group, All welcome
  14. Do you change the size before you upload or do you allow the site to resize automatically to their specs? Maybe this may have something to do with it? Greg
  15. I mixed some vinagar water and lemon juice and sprayed this around the borders of a similar sized paved area, worked like a treat. I you are going to try on deck, do a little patch test first so that it doesnt affect your paint/deck oil . Also might be good to use a bit more lemon than vinagar. Greg
  16. Second that, a thick fast growing hedge such as moruya would create a nice bit of distance from boundary, especially if the peep holes are boarded up ( wont see after plants grow ) . But like has been previously said, Talk more with the neighbours first. This sort of situations are especially difficult if neighbour is not willing to recognise an issue. I was lucky enough to have a previous neighbour fence of the area on our boundaries, as he acknowledged that it was his dog doing all the barking and madness and it was driving him nuts as well Greg
  17. I work full time, my wife is at home, however we have 3 kids under 6 and she is pretty busy being out of the house most days doing usual mom stuff. I make sure that Zoe (lab) gets plenty of exercise and attention when and where possible. It's hard work sometimes, but thats the responsibility you take on when you get a pet. Greg
  18. Hi, Can I add, "Don't leave your dog unattended" As silly as this sounds, I have witnessed owners dropping off their dog like its some sort of Doggy day care while they nip up the road to get coffee or take their kids to the adjoining playground. Post a link to the video when you have made it : ) Cheers Greg
