Yes, was poorly advertised and not as busy as previous years however I found it much easier with the kids to get around and properly meet all the breeds as well as practice my photography : )

Questions - Vet, Puppy School, Obedience Training
GregW replied to Niki8's topic in General Dog Discussion
I grew up in Marsfield, my mum who still lives there uses a mobile vet who is very good and reasonably priced. I can get details if u like? As for puppy school we went to Ku Ring Gai Vet on bobbin head rd North turrramuura which not far from Nth Ryde. They were good. -
one strike of the claw from from our cat to Zoe when she was a pup was enough to show who was boss. I think if it was the other way round a kitten dealing with a new home and a highly active young dog would have been highly stressful and would spend most of its time hiding and avoiding any place the dog was. doesnt mean it cant be done just my experience : )

good value and does its job.

I had lots of probs a week ago with McAfee with all sorts of messgages and sometimes not letting me on internet at all ( was a known prob with McAfee site adviser)so uninstalled and reinstalled, now all good.

Agree I always say " the crazies don't get up early " I tend to do this no matter what park I go to.

Bayview is the best :) but like others have mentioned you need to go mid week to really enjoy, summertime on weekend can be manic. Nice dog friendly cafe couple of hundred mtrs away to right of the boat ramp.

A few weeks ago had delivery of garden soil to top up the garden beds. The mix consisted of nice big chucks of horse manure. Zoe went nuts trying to scoff them down. Had to get out the pick and break them up into the soil so she would leave it alone. I probably should of learnt my lesson from a few years back when I spread "rooster booster" on the lawn and she made herself ill hoovering it up.

A bit of both, but never inside alone. Too much temptation for a lab to get up to mischief.

yeh that makes sense, I just thought there might be like different plugins and such for lightroom and photoshop mac users only
-
That looks really nice , looking to upgrade to an all in one type for space reasons. I am curious? for those that have an imac what is it about an Imac thats better for editing if you are using lightroom or photoshop? or is it more the case that if you want to use mac software like iphoto for your editing because its much better? As far as know lightroom is the same on mac or pc or isnt it?

I dont think Nikon will admit any issues ( if there are ) best to borrow or hire one to make up your own mind.

I guess having huge white lenses has a lot to do with getting noticed, but at this particular event they were all Canon. A lot of them probably had the 1D rather than the 5D though. ;) The 5D II is renowned for its below average auto focus system. Well there you go, I learnt something new today, had a look at some of my F1 mags and snook is correct most are using 1D Mark IV. Camera is $5k a pop , chump change I suppose when photographing a sport that can cost a team $200 million a year just to run!

Hey, I just thought I would stick up for the auto focus on Canon  I went to the Formula 1 grand prix in March and all pro's had Canons so I suppose it cant be all that bad if they are trying to capture 320 kmph road rockets. Funny enough, in the crowd section where I was just about everyone had a Nikon and quite a few Sony.

When I got LR3 it was quite a while back and got the book same time as well, I then found with jpg I was not really having to do much so read a few chapters and left it there. However since now with Raw I am determined to learn all the ins and outs as the book has all pracs and stuff applicable to shooting raw So yeh , will be making the move up to LR4 once I am comfortable with LR3 and get my monies worth out the LR3 book So you can pre set the camera caliberation to automatically use on import? is that what you mean? I will have to look this up. I find that I am always manually selecting "Camera Standard" ( i have canon ) and sometime the "portrait" one. Do you just have preset to "Camera Standard" and use this all the time?
-
Thanks, currently Lightroom 3 and reading scott kelby book to get my head around. lol, I think I went a bull at gate for the above photos by playing around with sliders in each of the sections. Next lot will just concentrate on what huga and you have mentioned with basic controls. Just one question though, do you always change the camera calibration from Adobe standard before you even start post processing?
-
Thank you, yes I am hoping that with practice I wont have to do to much in lightroom later on. question? with raw, do you always have to make adjustments, like when you say nail it, are the slight adjustments generally the same such as exposure or white balance or does it depend?

So happy I finally got my 2 lenses ( 30mm 1.4 and 17-50 2.8) 30mm was picked up last friday so here are a couple of shots from down at the dog park on the weekend. ( first time shooting raw as well as trying to use lightroom with a raw file ) Please rub my tummy by Off Leash, on Flickr German Shepherd by Off Leash, on Flickr Birthday at the dog park by Off Leash, on Flickr Jesse down the dog park by Off Leash, on Flickr and this was taken inside at home Zoe on her mat by Off Leash, on Flickr 17-50 lens arrived later in to the shop only yesterday, so yet to play around with it, also very glad I did not by online as the first one they gave me was a dud ( autofocus could not fix on anything) seems Sigma still have a prob with quality control. Overall pretty happy with lenses and can see already the worth in upgrading from the kit lens, Now just gotta get my head around Raw and lightroom

I suppose it looks good on paper, but then I am guessing the 2 days booking of the conference room, catering, insurances, course guide production time , printing , GST etc takes off the edge. This is probably why all you photographers charge a bomb!!
