2:22:22 isn't fast, it's almost turtle speed - but it looks pretty! :p But it's faster than what I would have done if I didn't do it, I suppose! :D -

She does have a longer head than her mum - but she never had as strong of a head as Nova did as a baby. She is maturing very differently to Nova though - Nova stayed very "together", whereas Luna (and the other pups from what I'm seeing, too) are going more gangly and awkward as they grow. There's an old adage, look at a puppy at 8 weeks and then ignore it until it's mature, in reference to how they can go through lots of "ugly" stages - I'm following that at the moment! Mind you, Luna had a much different head at 8 weeks, which is how old Nova is in my sig - much more compact than what she is now :) You might be onto something!! Never thought of it that way! No, no - refuse to entertain that idea :p -

Happy New Year everyone! Guess who turns 17 weeks old today, and weighs in at 18.8kg?? -
I agree also with contacting Susie and John at Rakaaz as a first port of call :) I'm sure they will do what they can to help you, and I know they won't steer you wrong, they're good, honest people :)

Obedience Training Books And Resouces
Allerzeit replied to Allerzeit's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Ooooo thanks! :D -
Hi guys :) I have a puppy buyer who has asked if I can recommend any good obedience training books, from beginner right through to advanced. I've already recommended Kikopup's YouTube channel, but can anyone recommend any good printed material for obedience training? There's so much out there, but would rather check for good recommendations from people involved in training :)

No it isn't . Chances are the breeder like many does not microchip at an early age ,until pups are microchipped they can't be registered . We don't do our puppies until 8 weeks & then paperwork is submitted pups have gone before paperwork comes back unless we decide to do fast track (same day) but we only do that in extreme cases . Your wait hasn't been long but in all fairness it is better to ask the breeder than them read it on forums . Exactly right :) I'm waiting on pedigrees at the moment for a litter who are almost 11 weeks old. I submitted the paperwork just before the pups turned 8 weeks - between waiting until they were microchipped and working out which puppy we were keeping, we couldn't submit the registration any earlier. All of our puppy people have been told what the situation is, and that we will forward their pedigrees by registered mail just as soon as we receive them. All of our puppy people also received puppy packs very similar to the one that you received, Yonjuro. A puppy pack like that should generally be the rule, not the exception. OP, if you're concerned about the pedigree, then just contact your breeder and ask :) I would certainly hope that any of our puppy people would feel comfortable enough to approach us directly to check on the progress of their pedigrees :)

Mind you, as I watch this somewhat psychotic 10 week old puppy run around like a mad thing, intent on maximum destruction....... I wonder if I should reconsider
-
Why, I think..... a Rottweiler :D Hey, it's worked for me for the past 40 years, so why not the next 40? :D So heartening to see how many other people have mentioned Rotts! Maybe the word is getting around about how amazing they are :)

You will be coming down here to meet the dam and the breeder and see the pups in person though, won't you :D We have a spare room, as long as you can handle sharing it with rotts :p -

Hahahah - you need to stalk down there way for Blitz :D -
Oh very nice! Ours certainly aren't that good - we still get up to wet newspapers in the pen in the morning. Normally not pooey though, which is good. Although I have to say, little burgundy - when we put them into the bigger pen with fresh paper first thing in the morning, she pees for aaaggeees! I think she must be holding on, and the look of relief on her face is precious!
-
Ours are 9 weeks as well - still 4 here :) Red and Orange fly out next Thursday, and just waiting on more details to finalise Burgundy's flight. That leaves Luna, who is staying with us :D Black girl flew out yesterday and got slightly stuck in Brisbane when the storm went through and her connecting flight from Brisbane was cancelled! Fortunately Dogtainers were onto it, made sure she was ok, and managed to get her onto another flight! Very scary little period of time for ourselves and her new mum though! White girl flew to Perth last Monday, and everyone else was picked up either last weekend or last week. I have to say - wrangling 4 puppies is SOOOOO much nicer than wrangling 10! They were getting pretty hard to keep up with!

Hahaha my girl is also known as Luna-tic, Loon, or Loony. How's she going? Are you coping OK with all the puppies departing? She's going very well :D We've discovered that she's quite the little "Miss" - she will completely ignore you if she so chooses, to the point that you can pick her up to cuddle her and she will keep turning her head away, dismissing you! Little minx! I love attitude :D It's getting very quiet here, but apart from that we're coping fine :) Although it was certainly heart attack time last night when Millie's flight was cancelled with her sitting in Brisbane! All ended well though :D -

Airport drop offs are the worst! I enjoy handing babies over to their new owners and being a part of their joy, but hate airport drop offs! Imagine the panic tonight to see that Millie's flight from Brisbane to her new home had been cancelled and Millie was stuck in Brisbane! That's when it gets really hard! Hopefully she has now landed though and is waiting to be picked up - just waiting to hear from her mum! Not a good night to fly around Brisbane from what I hear!! Hope everyone there is safe!
