  1. Oh, poor little guy Crossing all fingers and paws down here for Tip! Sometimes people suck How could they just dump him in a box like that
  2. I just want to say that I take my hat off to you for doing what was best for the dog, even though it was emotionally painful for you Sounds like she will be like a pig in the proverbial in her new home, and I hope you can take comfort in that
  3. My Gawd! That's meant to be a male rottweiler? It looks like a poorly bred female rottweiler, nothing like how a male rottweiler should look And if the seller thinks the pups look like miniature rottweilers, they are on some mind altering substance!
  4. We use the original Benadryl for easing the cough, and it works a treat
  5. That's brilliant!!! Fingers crossed he keeps it up!
  6. Oh, poor, poor boy At least there are no serious underlying issues, but for him to be grieving so much is just heartbreaking. Sending lots and lots of hunger vibes!
  7. Thanks Hardy's Angel We ended up going with Graeme Moate, who we have been really happy with - but it's still handy to have all of these alternative contacts listed!
  8. I have no better advice to offer than what has already been offered, but just wanted to send you a big virtual and another to Indie! You must be beside yourself with worry I hope he starts to pick up very soon for you, poor baby ;)
  9. Same for every Tasmanian council area that I know of. Two pet dogs over the age of six months or four working dogs over the age of six months. Central Highlands Council don't have a limit at the moment, but I believe it will be coming in over the next few months. From what I understand, the 2 dog limit is state legislation in Tasmania, which is why Central Highlands are being forced to bring it in, even though they would prefer not to have the limit (according to comments made by the Mayor and councillors at a community meeting last September which we attended). When we lived in the Rural City of Wangaratta council area in Victoria, we had 5 dogs with no permit required and no limit that we were aware of - but we were zoned rural and on acerage. We actually had someone wanting to surrender a greyhound to us because they had three dogs and had recieved a warning from the council. Understandable if it was somewhere reasonably built-up (like Launceston or surrounding suburbs) but this was Northern Midlands council area- a few small towns and the rest is very much rural :D I was only talking about Central Highlands Council as not (yet) having the two dog limit, not Northern Midlands :D As I said, I believe it's state legislation in Tasmania to have a 2 dog limit, and I think the only one who isn't yet enforcing this is Central Highlands - but they will be soon. My other comment, about being on rural acerage, was in reference to Victoria

  11. What a brilliant idea! I'm going to get something done with Enya's ashes later this year, a gemstone is an idea I hadn't thought of. I'm looking at getting one of these - http://www.memorialjewellery.com.au/Gold-V...-Urn_p_123.html - but I might have to add a gemstone to my list as well!
  12. Ouch! Poor, SILLY, girl If she's anything like my Enya was, she won't learn a thing! Enya put her foot through a window years ago by scratching on it asking to come inside - for the rest of her life, the silly girl continued to scratch at windows.... with the same foot! She certainly taught me to move quickly when she scratched on a window though!
  13. We are well and truly used to tails on rottweilers now, and really appreciate a good specimen of the breed with a natural tail. We wouldn't go back to docking now, we like the tails and enjoy having our dogs with them. Is it cruel, no, definitely not - not when done correctly.
  14. We have a 2008 Territory, AWD though, not rear wheel drive. We comfortably fit two adult Rottweilers in the back section (we have a cargo barrier), the back seats fold down and Molly is more than happy in there with her harness. If we need to take more than three dogs, we take the dog trailer, but two Rottweilers a Border Collie and some luggage is easily doable for us ;) I love our Territory to bits, it's so comfortable to drive and has so much visibility - it was a big change to go from a Magna station wagon to the Territory and took a bit of getting used to being up so high in comparison Very easy to drive, and doesn't feel "big". Downsides - fuel costs. Very expensive - we live country, although lots of windy roads so not as econonical as it would be with cruise control down a straight freeway, and I think we sit on around 12.7 litres per 100km. We get about 500km - 550km on a tank, and it's now costing us over $90 to fill up the tank, so it hurts when it comes to fuel because we go through 4 - 5 tanks per month (particularly coming from the Magna which was on gas!) Tyres are expensive - we just paid around $1000 to get 4 new tyres, ouch! We haven't had any mechanical problems - apart from Neo eating bits of the car he shouldn't.... The car has just had it's 90,000 km service, and we have an extended new car warranty (purchased used - ex Victorian police fleet - had under 50,000 on it and some new car warranty so we paid to extend it).
  15. So sorry Kirty ;) RIP Phoebe
  16. Just disgusting!!! Little punks! I think swans normally mate for life, too
  17. Yep, that's what I'd be wondering too - some new noise in the neighbourhood that's setting him off perhaps.
  18. What a grand age for a lovely girl! Young again forever now, RIP Asha
  19. Oh no! I'm so sorry to read that Kuges has gone to the bridge RIP Kuges
