Hee Hee - I don't think I've ever seen a Borzoi with anything resembling a "tummy" before She looks over it!

Feonix isn't terribly impressive yet, but I can see a big change in her compared to how she normally looks - and she is a large (and somewhat long in body) girl - 5 weeks belly shots

Feonix will be just 5 (birthday is on the 1st of August) - but this will be her first litter, which I'm not terribly thrilled about, I would have rather she had her first litter a couple of years ago.

Our rotties are the same - I have yet to have a bitch go off her food, they just refuse to read the whelping books! Feonix is almost 5 weeks and is as big a pig as ever, moreso actually, which is scary for Feonix

For the past 20 something years, we've used coloured ribbons - which have been fine, but it's a pain when you have to change them as the pups grow. I love the idea of the Indenta-pup collars, such a simple idea but so brilliant

Noooo - don't leave us! It's all exciting having some July people who've had babies already, makes it seem like our litters are getting closer - believe me, being at the end of July, I still feel like it's a mile off

I can imagine! Our bitches never seem to whelp during the day, always overnight, so I know well the horrible hungover feeling of the next morning (and for the next couple of days) Hope little 180 pulls through for you!

OMG!! I hope the ultrasound is to count puppies and not just confirm pregnancy, because you know, I think she might be pregnant

Well, we're confirmed Ultrasound this morning showed at least 3 pups with another couple which might have been more pups or might have been recounts. Very much a quick and dirty ultrasound though, so not pinning any accuracy on those numbers. Fee is starting to noticeably change shape - she is 4 1/2 weeks and a big, roomy girl so I don't think there is only 3 in there. Besides, I've ordered 6 so I'm taking the 3 and doubling it

Nah, it's fine - it's interesting historical information on the breed (well, we think it is, anyway ) - I just wanted add a clarification in case anyone (not necessarily DOL members - but moreso general public who find this thread through Google searches, etc) see the link and jump to the conclusion that we breed bobtails

Well, we are booked into the vet for an ultrasound on Monday morning - something we don't normally worry about doing. I'm just not convinced with Feonix - one minute I think she looks like she's thickening up, the next I don't, so we are going to get an ultrasound so we have a bit more of an idea because it's driving me nuts

Just as a note to this - our experience with bobtails happened in the early 1970's - and the information that we've out on this page is a bit of historical information only and doesn't reflect our current breeding. We get a lot of enquiries for bobtailed pups because people see this page on our site and assume that means that we breed bobtails, so just wanted to clarify that before we get another round of emails looking for bobtailed puppies!
