Well, our first two go today! Feebie (orange) is being picked up shortly, and Ava (yellow) is on a plane to Melbourne this afternoon. Bruce (green) goes tomorrow. Bear (blue) and Diesel (white) both go on Saturday. We then have China (purple) staying with us until Friday of next week. Nova (red) isn't going anywhere, of course I'm feeling a little bit sooky, but still very glad that they are ready to go to their new homes. As a bunch of 7 pups, they are very much feral buggers now, just like yours SBT101 I don't think I could cope with another 2 - 4 weeks of them as a group!

Heh - believe me, by 8 weeks the cuteness factor is wearing off! Our lot are 8 weeks today, and we are totally exhausted and ready to get our lives back (and ready to be able to start bonding with the girl we are keeping). Good luck with your litter!

Oh, Heidley and Alyosha - they are all so gorgeous!

Ok on another tangent, if I keep Beryl and Sheryl, can you think of rhyming names for the 2 boys ??? Barry and Harry

We had a painting done of Stewie by Hazel Coates-Jobson, which I just love If you scroll down this page, he is the rotty on the blue background

I have to admit that part of the reason we are keeping this girl is an emotional decision - she IS the splitting image of Enya, who is her maternal grandmother, the resemblance is just striking. However, she is - in her own right - just a stunning puppy with a killer attitude.

Please allow me to introduce you to Allerzeit Storms in Africa (name pending) AKA "Nova" :D

The puppies are awake the second they hear any sound, so greeting with their food bowl is no good - it's too late by then, they are already wide awake and well into toileting by the time you get out there with the food We already work it such that OH goes out as soon as we wake up to grab the poos while I'm making their breakfast, and then they are fed as soon as breakfast is ready.

Yeah, puppy kisses have taken on a whole new (gross!) meaning now!!

Thanks oakway We have picked up some crushed pineapple, and they have had their first lot of it in their lunch, so fingers crossed! I didn't realise it was such a common problem in litters. In 25 years, this is the first time we've had a litter of poo eaters, so maybe I should be counting my lucky stars that it's taken this long to happen

Heeeellllp! We have a litter of 7 puppies here at the moment, 5 1/2 weeks old. Over the past few days they have decided that poo eating is the best thing on the planet! The problem is primarily first thing in the morning, when they are having their first morning poos and they are hungry for breakfast - one puppy poos and then they all pounce on it, and it's gone in seconds It doesn't seem to be as much of an issue during the day, so it seems to be mainly associated with their desperate hunger first thing in the morning, but I don't want it to become a habit. These are not starving puppies, they are all in good chubby condition, it's not like their not getting enough to eat! Our mode of attack at the moment is to be there when they have morning poos, and removing said poos the second they are delivered. Any attempts to pounce on poos is met with the clapping of hands and growling of voice. We do the same during the day, removing any poos as soon as possible - immediately if we are then when the poo is done, but it's just not possible to be present for every poo. Is there anything anyone else would do differently, or in addition to what we're already doing? I'm quite used to litters who roll and play in the poo (and being greeted by poo covered puppies first thing in the morning), but this is the first time I've had a litter of poo eaters! Any suggestions or advice very gratefully received (My God, has there ever been a post with the word poo repeated so often?)

Well done SM! And well done to Monty as well, you little spunk!

The news and the 7.30 report all vary state by state though, so it will depend what state it was in I think.

Surrogate Mother Possibly Needed In Melbourne
Allerzeit replied to Trisven13's topic in Breeders Community
I echo much of what's been said - muzzle if needed, full supervision while the babies are on her, restraining the bitch if needed, and lots of rescue remedy! Feonix didn't have a ceaser, but she was a maiden and was aggressive to the pups initially. It took a couple of days of constant supervision, and restraining her while the pups were feeding for her to come around, but she did come around. I now have the opposite problem - she's so ridiculously patient with them that she won't tell them off when they try to feed (they are now just over 5 weeks old), which isn't making weaning very easy -
Wow, Borzoi's are such CUTE babies!!

Oh God! Yes, please!!! -
Wow - I can't believe how grown up (and adorable) everyone's babies are, and that they are all heading off to their new homes! Where has the time gone?? I'm sure I totally missed August somewhere! Here's some candid shots of some of ours from yesterday - they turn 5 weeks old today, so only 3 weeks to go and they head off into the big wide world! Blue Purple White Yellow and purple having words I think this is green - it's either him or blue - the two of them just live in the cat tunnel See?? Red

   Gotta love a Rotty!! So sorry you're not feeling well, and hope you feel better soon - but that story was SOOOOOO funny!
-
I'm starting to dread trying to do the same thing myself! I would love to hear from anyone who has managed to successfully get their pups registered, and how they did it! I used Petplan 5 years ago for our last litter, and it was hassle free, but it all seems to have fallen apart... Rebanne, they have a Facebook page, maybe try posting something on there - oops, I see you already have! Hope you get a response!

Report the advert to DogsNSW - take a screenshot of the advert, and note down the breeders contact details and let DogsNSW know.
-
I'm reasonably sure who we will be keeping already (red or purple), but we will be assessing properly at 6 1/2 weeks and making our decisions then We need to leave ourselves enough time to do microchipping and registrations after we make our decisions, and still get puppies to their new parents at 8 - 8 1/2 weeks.

Awww - lookit little stacked puggies!
-
Awww - loving all the puppy photos! Ours turned 3 weeks old yesterday, so it was "portrait" time again :D They also started on solids yesterday, absolutely devoured their mince! They have little teeth now, and the look on Feonix's face when I make her go into the box to feed speaks volumes! I think she will be very happy to see them weaned

Need Info On Why Not To Randomly Stud Out A Dog.
Allerzeit replied to mr.mister's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hips and elbows - x-raying and scoring. We also have an eye and mouth certificate completed by a vet which certifies that the dog is free from entropian and ectropian (also includes more "cosmetic" issues like similarity of eye colour, number of teeth, if the bite is scissor or not, etc).
