  1. I voted I dislike cats, but that's really too strong - I am just pretty neutral about them. I don't particularly like them, I don't really dislike them. I have met the odd cat who I thought was pretty cool, but really have no desire to have cats in my life. I'm very allergic to cat hair, and they seem to know that, so that doesn't really endear them to me

  5. I think I almost peed myself laughing!! That was excellent
  6. From what I've heard it's not even after x-raying because there's a suspected problem - it's being pushed routinely when there are no problems present, just based on breed/size of the dog.
  7. It's not something I've experienced - but we only breed rarely, so there is less chance that we would experience puppy buyers having this issue with vets, just because we have so few puppy buyers. But, to read some of the experiences of other breeders out there is just jaw dropping!! I am certainly concerned that there are vets out there recommending this procedure as a matter of course, I think it's disgraceful.
  8. These ones? http://bengalsaustralia.com.au/store/product.php?productid=16149 These are Pet Nutridrops, rather than Nutripet Drops - so not sure if you are referring to a different product?
  9. Ummm, how is it that you refer to your puppy as female in your first few posts, and then change to the puppy being male in post number 8?
  10. Oh, bless your little cotton socks, that's too cute! Bubby is a very lucky boy
  11. Yay! New show babies We have two sisters ready to hit the rings in 2012, so all fingers and toes crossed for them : Nova (Allerzeit Storms in Africa), who lives with us China (Allerzeit China Roses), who lives with my parents at Allerhochst Rottweilers in Melbourne
  12. I'm the same - I prefer the body on the heavier pup, but prefer the head on the lighter pup! Go on - toss a coin, like I had to when choosing! :p
  13. No, it's not bad manners to pronounce it wyler instead of vyler - lots of rotty people pronounce it that way, probably the majority of them in fact The breed is named after the German town of Rottweil, which is pronounced with the V sound, so strictly speaking it's rott-vyler, but as long as you say wyler and not wheeler you are making rotty people happy :D
  14. Ok, in the spirit of education (after my head exploding over the rockwheeler :p ) and since many people do pronounce "rottweiler" incorrectly, the correct pronunciation is: Rott-vy-ler, although Rott-wy-ler is also ok if you feel silly pronouncing the W with a V sound :D
  15. The next person to say rockwheeler will be subjected to drowning by Neo The word rockwheeler makes my head explode!
  16. Yes, me too - purple with black paws and it is green backed.
  17. Gawd, we have a prefix that is easily as close to another prefix (if not closer) - and we've had it for 20+ years. We are Allerzeit My parents are Allerhochst We both breed Rottweilers, and at the time of getting my prefix I still had the same surname and was living in the same state (not now - different surname and state). We all (including my parents) deliberately chose my prefix to be similar to theirs to indicate the family connection. If you go to the Prefix Search site, and look at prefixes listed by breed for some of the more popular breeds, you will find lots of examples of prefixes that are as close to, or closer to, other prefixes than what yours are. Seems a bit bloody rough to me.
  18. Well, as a rottweiler breeder, there is no way I would ever recommend to my puppy buyers that 3 half hour walks a day is at all suitable for a rottweiler puppy, no matter what the pace of the walk! It's just too much strain on growing joints, and just asking for joint problems down the track. Free play and mental stimulation would be far more suitable - you will tire him out far better with training that makes him use his brain, and it will be better for him.
  19. Send me your address and I will pop her in an express post bag for you! Looks are very deceiving when it comes to Nova - she's a devil's spawn if ever there was one Plus she's just started teething
  20. It's only so they can offset the naughtiness!
  21. You pick them up from the appropriate freight depot - Virgin Freight for Virgin, AAE for Qantas The freight depots are separate from the terminal, so you just go to the depot and collect them, and walk them out of the freight depot on lead We have once picked up a dog from inside a smaller terminal (Albury), and we still walked her out on lead through the terminal - but major cities have freight buildings separate from the terminal buildings.
  22. Believe me, I know how you feel I stressed so much about Feonix - and she couldn't have cared less. I watched her being loaded in Melbourne, and she looked like she was having the best time, while I'm in the terminal chewing my fingernails to the quicks  Also normally, I think, the animals are loaded on last and taken off first - or at least that's what I was told many years ago, and each time I've been able to watch my dog being loaded it has gone on right at the end.
