An owner may be looking for thier lost pet that dosen't have a microchip.They may think to check the pound but would they know of all these other rescues where thier unchiped and presumed unwanted pet could have ended up. There's even a bigger fine for people having pets who aren't microchipped. Everywhere you go these days, when you buy an animal from somewhere, they're usually already microchipped. Even one well known "rescue" I know who breeds dogs even chips them before selling them.. when she eventually does sell them. The laws have changed recently in regard to having pets microchiped.However there are still many people especially those who have older pets in particular that don't have thier pets microchipped. No microchip does not mean they do not love and care for thier pet or would not want them back if they were lost or stolen. Not to mention that sometimes chips stop working! I have a bitch here, bred by me and I was present when she was microchipped at 7 weeks, and microchip was working at that point (tested after being chipped). Fast forward 4 1/2 years, and we needed to have her chip number confirmed by our vet for inclusion on her hip/elbow paperwork - no chip could be found anywhere, and we had to have her re-chipped. Her chip could have been out of order for years, for all we know....

Well, of course he did! He would have to win baby of breed just for his gorgeous ears!! Rotts just get stupid, screwed up ears when they're teething - baby sheppie ears are so much cuter!

Looks like we might be making the trek over with Nova! It's a specialty show for the rottweilers - specialist judge, critiques, gradings, BISS, etc It will be a loooong day though, trying to do it all in one day (when normally rottweiler specialty shows are done over 2 - 3 days), but I always enjoy Gerard O'Shea's judging. Just trying to justify the cost to myself at the moment :laugh:

One of our puppy buyers from our last litter has called their boy Bruce - I love it! Bruce the rottweiler :laugh: Even better, I have a friend with a female shar-pei who is also called Bruce :laugh: Us too :laugh: Our dogs only get called their "proper" pet names when they're in trouble! Neo is Doodie Man, Radar is Gooby Dog, Feonix is Fee, Molly is Bubba Louie and Nova is Smooshy Face (or any number of rude names for when she does something naughty - which is most of the time)!

Ain't she sweet?? I'll pop her in the back of your car at the next show - you know you want her! :laugh: The thing is, I have half a dozen photos of the two of the playing and in every single one of them Nova is snarling smiling at Bruce :laugh:

Wow! That's awesome! Hudson is a star! Nova did it again this weekend - another class in group This time Puppy in Group, at the tender age of 7 1/2 months (no minor puppy class offered at that show, so she was up with the "big" kids) :D We are just over the moon with how she's going, and she's having an almost obscene amount of fun in the ring, which is wonderful :D

Congratulations everyone! Some awesome results for our rising stars! Hudson is just a total show off, but damn is he cute!! Nova won Reserve Challenge and best Minor in Group today :D She's had a grand total of 5 shows, for 3 class in group wins and 1 class in show win - can't complain about that! :D She's almost forgiven for her recent attempt to give herself an intestinal obstruction.....almost.... Here she is :) And just chillin' while waiting her turn - such a ladylike way to sit... :laugh:

I have to agree with Dyzney regarding puppy selection :) I never let puppy people choose their own puppies, although they do have a lot of input into the puppy selection process - it's a team effort, and has to be. If they have a preference for a puppy and that puppy ticks all the right boxes then I will try my hardest to give them their preference :) It's hard for me to comment on how headstrong they are as a breed and how firm you have to be as a handler, as I've been surrounded by them since I was 3 years old and never known anything else, so Rottweiler behaviour is just normal for me - although definitely some individuals are more headstrong than others and require a firmer hand. We've had sooky sooky lala's right through to very full of themselves and headstrong (Nova, I'm looking at you, kid!).

Definitely sounds like a scam seller to me! Not to mention - if I've tracked down the right one - that the same microchip number is being used to advertise a black male, and is also used in an ad on a different site - same wording, but in this ad there is no sex or colour listed, and this one has a photo of a gold puppy (not even sure that the photo is of a cocker spaniel, but the colour of the puppy is gold). I don't think this is a seller who has been mislead by a rogue breeder, somehow... ETA: Or DUH! The second ad could be your original ad Sir Sniffalot! I'm an idiot
